Attempt to Blow up Booby-trapped Car in Daraa Foiled, Terrorists’ Infilitartion Attempts Foiled
PROVINCES – (SANA) - The competent authorities on Thursday foiled a terrorist attempt to blow up a booby-trapped car loaded with huge amount of explosives at the intensively crowded area of al-Mahatta station in Sanamin city.
An official source in Daraa province told SANA reporter that when the competent authorities suspected a parked car at al-Mahatta crossroads, the terrorist inside it tried to flee and then blew himself up.
The authorities found six barrels full of about 700 kg of explosives and a white powder of about 70 kg that is believed to be a Sifor material, in addition to bottles full of gasoline.
Law Enforcement Member Injured in Blast by Suicide Bomber in Daraa
Meantime, in al-Hirak town in Daraa, a suicide bomber blew himself up in a pickup car loaded with green chickpea and an amount of explosives near the law-enforcement forces at the Western entrance of the town, causing the injury of a law-enforcement member.
Infiltration Attempt by Terrorist Group Foiled on the Syrian-Lebanon Borders
In Homs, the authorities on Thursday repelled an armed terrorist group attempting to infiltrate from Lebanon into Syria near Edlin village in Talkalakh in the countryside of the province.
SANA reporter quoted a source in the province as saying that the authorities clashed with the terrorist group wounding a number of its members, while others fled away back into the Lebanese territories.
Infiltration Attempt by Terrorist Group Coming from Turkey Foiled
Another infiltration attempt by an armed terrorist group coming from the Turkish territories to Syria at Kherbit al-Jouz area in Jisr al-Shughour in Idleb province was foiled last night.
A source in the province told SANA reporter that the authorities killed three of the group’s members and seized their weapons which included machineguns and rifles, noting that the rest of the terrorists fled away back into Turkey.
