  • Dichiarazione del portavoce del Ministero degli Affari Esteri della Repubblica Araba Siriana

Il Ministero degli Affari Esteri e dei Siriani all’Estero ribadisce l’obbligo per i giornalisti di attenersi alle regole che definiscono le norme del lavoro giornalistico in Siria, evitare di infrangere la legge siriana ed entrare nel Paese in modo illegale per raggiungere luoghi pericolosi.

Il rispetto di tali regole permetterà ai giornalisti che visitano il Paese di avere facilitazioni ed assistenza da parte del Ministero dell’Informazione, oltre agli avvertimenti riguardanti la situazione sul campo prima di recarsi in qualsiasi luogo.

Il Ministero dell’Informazione sta compiendo uno sforzo concreto, avendo concesso il visto di ingresso a circa 200 delegazioni di giornalisti durante gli ultimi due mesi, e i documenti in questo senso sono disponibili per coloro che avessero dei dubbi circa la possibilità per i giornalisti di entrare in Siria.

Per quanto riguarda il lato umano, il Ministero esprime le proprie condoglianze sia ai familiari dei giornalisti che hanno perso la vita in Siria, che ai media per cui lavoravano, rifiutando però qualsiasi dichiarazione che attesti la responsabilità della Siria nella morte di giornalisti entrati illegalmente nel Paese, poichè tale responsabilità è da assumersi personalmente da coloro che decidono di entrare in Siria illegalmente e senza avvisare le autorità circa il loro ingresso, o i luoghi che intendono visitare.

  • Dichiarazione del Ministero dell’Informazione circa la morte dei 2 giornalisti stranieri in Siria

Il ministro dell’Informazione, Dr. Adnan Mahmoud, ha detto ieri che il Ministero non era a conoscenza dell’ingresso in Siria della giornalista americana Marie Colvin e del fotografo francese Remi Ochlik, o di altri stranieri, nè della loro presenza nel Paese.

Il ministro Mahmoud ha dichiarato che è stata chiesta la collaborazione delle autorità competenti nella provincia di Homs per cercare il luogo in cui si trovavano e seguire la vicenda dei due giornalisti, del cui ferimento ad Homs avevano parlato i media.

Il ministro ha sottolineato che il Ministero chiede a tutti i giornalisti stranieri che sono entrati in Siria illegalmente di contattare il più vicino centro per l’immigrazione e i passaporti della regione in cui si trovano per regolarizzare la loro posizione in conformità alle leggi vigenti.

Già l’11 gennaio scorso un giornalista francese, Jilles Jacquier, era rimasto ucciso in un attacco a colpi di mortaio lanciato da gruppi terroristici armati durante la visita a cui stava partecipando con altri giornalisti stranieri nel quartiere di Akrama, ad Homs, e nel quale sono morti anche otto cittadini siriani e altri sono rimasti feriti. In quella occasione, un rapporto stilato dagli osservatori arabi in Siria aveva stabilito la responsabilità dell’opposizione armata nella morte del giornalista, e anche il quotidiano francese “Le Figaro” aveva confermato che l’uccisione era avvenuta per mano dal cosiddetto “esercito libero”.

  • Due ufficiali, un capitano e un tenente, sono stati uccisi ieri dopo che l’auto civile su cui viaggiavano è stata oggetto di un attacco a colpi di RPG da parte di terroristi armati alla periferia di Homs.
  • Una fonte ufficiale ha dichiarato che, nella  stessa zona, i membri di un altro gruppo terroristico hanno derubato un autocarro carico di tubi metallici sotto la minaccia delle armi, dopo aver costretto il conducente e un’altra persona che era con lui a scendere dal veicolo.
  • La stessa banda ha anche rapito due civili e sequestrato il veicolo su cui viaggiavano, portandoli in un luogo sconosciuto.
  • Ad Hama è stato invece rapito il maresciallo Mahmoud Eid di fronte a casa sua mentre si recava al lavoro e un altro agente delle forze dell’ordine è stato rapito, ieri mattina, ad Idleb, anche lui mentre andava al lavoro. Sempre ad Hama, un altro cittadino diretto al posto di lavoro è stato rapito dai terroristi vicino all’incrocio di Kafr Aamin e portato in un luogo sconosciuto.
  • Ad Aleppo un poliziotto e un civile sono morti e altre otto persone sono rimaste ferite nell’esplosione di una bomba piazzata da un gruppo terroristico armato ieri sera vicino ad un ponte in città.
  • Altri due ordigni, collocati sulla strada da Mariamin ad Homs, hanno causato ieri mattina la morte di un agente delle forze dell’ordine ed il ferimento di altri tre, uno dei quali in modo grave.
  • Le autorità hanno arrestato, dopo aver inseguito ed essersi scontrate con alcuni membri dei gruppi armati in provincia di Idleb, alcuni terroristi che aggredivano i cittadini e interrompevano le strade, mentre altri sono stati uccisi e altri ancora si sono arresi spontaneamente.
  • A Jisr al Shughur le autorità si sono scontrate due giorni fa con una banda di terroristi riuscendo a catturarne 5, fra cui Mohamed Suleiman, uno dei più pericolosi terroristi della regione.
  • Ad Hama i terroristi hanno ucciso l’ingegnere Hasan Khalouf Al Salloum, direttore della centrale telefonica di Al Hamra, in provincia di Hama, e ferito il figlio di 16 anni.
  • Una fonte ufficiale ha fatto sapere che un gruppo armato, accompagnato da un camion cisterna, ha rapinato due giorni fa una stazione di carburante appartenente all’Unione degli agricoltori, lungo la strada fra Homs e Hama, rubando 4 mila litri di gasolio e 500 di benzina, oltre ad aver aggredito gli operai e aver distrutto le finestre, le porte e i contatori.
  • La fonte ha aggiunto che un altro gruppo armato, composto da cinque terroristi a bordo di un’auto turistica, ha attaccato un distributore appartenente al cittadino Mohammed Ali Al Mohrezin nella zona di Al Silmeya, aggredendo i lavoratori e derubandoli delle loro carte di identità e aprendo poi il fuoco contro le pompe, causando danni stimati in 300 mila lire siriane (circa 3800 euro).
  • Un’altra banda di 4 persone armate, a bordo di un camion senza targa, ha invece rubato due giorni fa l’auto di un cittadino a Silmeya.
  • I familiari di Mahmoud Sourani, ucciso due giorni fa in un agguato vicino all’incrocio di Hanano, ad Aleppo, hanno detto che un gruppo terroristico armato lo aveva minacciato più volte, smentendo così quanto affermato dai canali di disinformazione. In un’intervista alla televisione siriana ieri, il fratello dell’uomo ha dichiarato che la vittima è stata presa di mira da un gruppo armato, nei pressi dello svincolo, la quale aveva aperto il fuoco contro di lui da entrambi i lati della vettura.

  • Statement of the Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Syrian Arab Republic

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Syrians abroad reiterates the requirement for journalists to follow the rules that define the standards of journalistic work in Syria, Syrian avoid breaking the law and enter the country illegally to reach dangerous places.

Compliance with these rules will allow journalists to visit the country to have facilities and assistance by the Ministry of Information, in addition to warnings about the situation on the ground before going anywhere.

The Information Ministry is making a real effort, having granted an entry visa to approximately 200 delegations of journalists during the last two months, and the documents are available for those who had doubts about the ability of journalists to enter in Syria.

As for the human side, the Ministry expresses its condolences to both families of journalists who have lost their lives in Syria, which the media they worked for, but refused any declaration of responsibility for the deaths of journalists in Syria illegally entered the country, as this responsibility is to be taken personally by those who decide to enter Syria illegally and without notifying the authorities about their entry, or places to be visited.

  • Statement of the Ministry of Information about the death of two foreign journalists in Syria

The Ministry of Information , Dr. Adnan Mahmoud, said yesterday that the Ministry was not aware of the entrance to Syria and the American journalist Marie Colvin of the French photographer Remi Ochlik, or other foreigners, or about their presence in the country.

The Minister Mahmoud said that he was sought the cooperation of the competent authorities in the province of Homs, to find the place where they were and follow the story of two journalists, whose injury in Homs the media had spoken.

The Minister stressed that the Ministry has asked all foreign journalists who entered Syria illegally to contact the nearest “center for immigration and passports” in the region in which they are, to regularize their position in accordance with applicable laws.

Already on 11 January, a French journalist, Jilles Jacquier, was killed in a mortar attack launched by terrorist armed groups, during the visit that he was participating with other foreign journalists, in the district of Akrama, Homs, and in which Syrian nationals also died and eight others were injured. On that occasion, a report drawn up by Arab observers in Syria had established the responsibility of the armed opposition in the death of the journalist, and even the French daily “Le Figaro” had confirmed that the killing had occurred by the hands of the so-called “free army” .

  • Two officers, a captain and a lieutenant, were killed yesterday after the public car where they were traveling has been the subject of shots from an RPG  by armed terrorists in the suburbs of Homs.
  • An official source said that, in the same area, members of another terrorist group robbed a truck load of metal pipes under the threat of weapons, after forcing the driver and another person who was with him to get down from the vehicle.
  • The same gang has also kidnapped two civilians and seized the vehicle they were traveling, taking them to an unknown location.
  • In Hama, was instead kidnapped Marshal Mahmoud Eid, in front of his house on his way to work and another police officer was kidnapped yesterday morning, in Idleb, while he went to work.
  • Always in Hama, a man has been kidnapped by terrorists, while he was on his way to the workplace, near the intersection of Kafr Aamin, and taken to an unknown location.
  • In Aleppo, last night , a policeman and a civilian were killed and eight others were injured in the explosion of a bomb planted by a terrorist armed group near a bridge in the city.
  • Two other bombs, placed on the road from Mariamin to Homs, yesterday morning caused the death of a police officer, wounding three others, one of them seriously.
  • Authorities arrested, after being chased and have clashed with members of armed groups in the province of Idleb, some terrorists who attacked the people and disrupted roads, while others were killed and others surrendered voluntarily.
  • In the Jisr al-Shughur, authorities clashed two days ago with a gang of terrorists, and managed to capture 5, including Mohamed Suleiman, one of the most dangerous terrorists in the region.
  • In  Hama the terrorists killed the engineer Hasan Khalouf Al Salloum, director of the central telephone office of Al Hamra, in the province of Hama, and wounded his son, 16 years old.
  • An official source said that an armed group, accompanied by a tanker truck, two days ago  robbed a gas station belonging to the Union of Farmers, on the route between Homs and Hama, stealing 4000 liters of diesel and 500 gasoline, as well as having attacked the workers and destroying windows, doors and counters.
  • The source added that another armed group, consisting of five terrorists aboard a tourist car, attacked a petrol station belonging to the citizen Mohammed Ali Al Mohrezin, in the area of al Silmeya, assaulting and robbing workers of their identity cards and then opening fire on the pumps, causing damage estimated at 300 000 Syrian pounds (about 3800 euros).
  • Another gang of 4 armed persons, on a truck without license plates, two days ago has stolen the car of a citizen in Silmeya.
  • Relatives of Mahmoud Sourani, killed two days ago in an ambush near the intersection of Hanano, in Aleppo, said that an armed terrorist group had threatened him several times, thus disproving the claims of the channels of disinformation. Yesterday, in an interview with Syrian television, the man’s brother said the victim was targeted by an armed group, near the intersection, which had opened fire on him from both sides of the car.
