Tehran: Syrian-Iranian Relations Strategic
Apr 09, 2012 – TEHRAN – Iranian Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hussein Amir Abdullahian described relations between Syria and Iran as strategic, rejecting any foreign intervention in the Syrian domestic affairs.
During a meeting for the joint strategic Committee between Iran and Oman Sunday, Abdullahian said that his country’s viewpoint regarding the crisis in Syria is based on three factors:
1) non-intervention in Syria’s affairs, preserving the Syrian state,
2 ) halting violence
3) continuing reforms.
Omani Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry Ahmad bin youssef al-Harithi underlined that the events in Syria are different from those in Egypt and Tunisia as the Syrian people support the Syrian government.
He added that Oman rejects arming the opposition, hoping that Annan’s mission will succeed in settling the crisis.

Teheran: Relazioni Strategiche Siro-Iraniane
