39th Anniversary of October Liberation War: President al-Assad Visits the Martyr’s Monument on Qassyoun Mountain

Damascus – October 6, 2012 – President Bashar al-Assad visited on Saturday the Martyr’s Monument on Qassyoun Mountain, on the 39th anniversary of Tishreen (October) Liberation War which restored the dignity and pride to the Arab nation.

Upon his arrival, President al-Assad was received by Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Army and the Armed Forces, Minister of Defense, Gen. Fahd Jassem al-Freij and Chief of General Staff of the Army and the Armed Forces, Gen. Ali Abdullah Ayyoub.

President al-Assad received flowers from the martyrs’ sons, and shook hands with the Assistant Secretary General of al-Baath Arab Socialist Party, the two Vice-President, Assistant Regional Secretary of al-Baath Party, Deputy Chairman of the National Progressive Front, the Speaker of the People’s Assembly, the Prime Minister, the Deputies of the Defense Minister and the Chief of the General Staff and the Chief of the General Staff of the Palestinian Liberation Army.

Later, President al-Assad laid a wreath on the Martyr’s Monument and recited al-Fatiha along with a number of the senior officials for the souls of the martyrs.

The ‘Martyr’ and ‘Farewell’ music was played.

Before leaving, President al-Assad exchanged talk with a number of the martyrs’ sons on the sublime meanings of heroism that the martyrs of the homeland achieved throughout Syria’s history.

DAMASCO – 6/10/2012 – Il presidente Bashar al-Assad ha visitato oggi il Monumento dei Martiri sul monte Qassyoun, in occasione del 39 °anniversario della vittoria di Ottobre (Tishreen) della Lotta di Liberazione che ha ridato la dignità e l’orgoglio alla nazione araba.

Al suo arrivo, il presidente al-Assad è stato ricevuto dal vice presidente e comandante in capo dell’esercito delle Forze Armate e ministro della Difesa, Gen. Fahd Jassem al-Freij e dal Capo di Stato Maggiore generale Ali Abdullah Ayyoub.

Il Presidente al-Assad ha ricevuto fiori dai figli dei martiri, ha stretto la mano al Segretario generale del partito arabo socialista al-Baath, ai due vice-presidenti, al segretario regionale del partito al-Baath, al Vice Presidente del Fronte Nazionale Progressista, al Presidente dell’Assemblea del Popolo, al Primo Ministro, ai Deputati del Ministero della Difesa e al Capo di Stato Maggiore e al Generale dell’Esercito di Liberazione Palestinese.

Più tardi, il presidente al-Assad ha deposto una corona di fiori sul monumento dei Martiri e recitato al-Fatiha insieme ad alti funzionari per le anime dei martiri.
E’ stata suonata la musica dell’inno ai martiri ‘Addio’.

Prima di partire, il presidente al-Assad ha scambiato delle parole con alcuni figli di martiri sui significati sublimi di eroismo che i martiri della patria hanno conseguito nel corso della storia della Siria.
