TEHRAN – Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi underlined that the current crisis in was exported from abroad, warning that the foreign interference in the Syrian affairs will establish a dangerous position in the international relations and spark violence in the whole region.

Opening the activities of the Syrian National Dialogue Conference in Tehran on Sunday under the title “No for Violence, Yes for Dialogue and Democracy”, Salehi pointed out that the conference could be an important step to overcome the crisis in Syria and would help in restoring stability and tranquility to this country.

He asserted that understanding among the different components of the Syrian people is one of the main goals for holding this conference.

The Iranian Foreign Minister reiterated that some foreign sides seek to exclude the peaceful solutions in Syria and support violence in it through arming the terrorist groups in Syria which leads for aggravating the crisis.

Salehi stressed that his country will spare no efforts to prevent bloodshed in Syria and restore peace to it, noting “the Syrian supreme interests should be the basis for stopping violence and preventing bloodshed.”

He called for supporting efforts of the UN envoy to Syria Lakhdar Brahimi through adhering to the implementation of the six-point plan of the former UN envoy to Syria Kofi Annan and the proposals of the Syrian government in solving the crisis.

He stressed that Syria is an important country in the Middle East and is an example of coexistence.
