A citizen was martyred and another was injured Tuesday in a terrorist mortar attack on Midhat Basha commercial market in Damascus.
A source at Damascus Police Command told SANA reporter that terrorists targeted Midhat Basha market with a mortar shell that landed in a clothing factory, causing the martyrdom of a citizen.
The source added that another citizen was critically wounded in the attack, which also caused material damage to the factory and a number of parked cars in the site.
Terrorists’ fire mortar shell hit the Apostolic Nunciature in Damascus
Earlier, a mortar shell fired by terrorists landed in the building of the Apostolic Nunciature in Damascus, causing no casualties.
Counselor at the Nunciature Msgr. Giorgio told SANA reporter that a mortar shell fell on the building’s roof at 6: 30 am without hurting any of the staff.
Targeting the Apostolic Nunciature and diplomatic missions in Damascus comes in the framework of the terrorist groups implementing their backers’ instructions in a bid to influence the stance of these missions in support of peace and security in Syria.
Terrorists fire mortar shell on Bab Musalla area in Damascus, causing injuries
A mortar round fired by terrorists fell in Bab Musalla area in Damascus, injuring two citizens, one of them a child, and causing material damage.
A source at the Police Command told SANA that the shell landed on a rooftop, injuring a man and a child who were rushed to a hospital.
SANA’s correspondent said the mortar shell damaged a fuel tank for one of the houses, broke windows of apartments, and damaged cars parked nearby.
