The People’s Assembly strongly condemns terrorists’ assassination of member Mijhem al-Saho

The People’s Assembly on Sunday condemned in the strongest terms the terrorists’ assassination of member Mihjem al-Saho while he was on his way to Damascus coming from Deir Ezzor.

Targeting al-Saho and the other MPs “will not intimidate us. It will rather increase our determination to continue shouldering our responsibilities to defend Syria and its people and clear it of those terrorist killers,” the Assembly said a statement.

The statement highlighted how the terrorist groups have been targeting national scientific cadres, intellectuals, lawyers and MPs over more than two years, instigated by Western and regional countries with the aim to intimidate Syria’s cadres and make them abandon their duties.

However, the statement added, the Syrian people responded with more challenge, work and determination to push forward the wheel of life in defiance of the terrorists.

“Our responsibility has been doubled today as we must perform our duties with integrity and work side by side with the Syrian Arab Army in confronting the terrorists until restoring security and stability to the Syrian people across the homeland,” the statement said.

An armed terrorist group had earlier assassinated Member of the People’s Assembly Mijhem al-Saho on Deir Ezzor-Palmyra road.

An official source told SANA that terrorists of the so-called The Islamic State in Iraq and Sham (ISIS), which is affiliated to al-Qaeda, assassinated al-Saho on Saturday, after several days of abduction, near al-Sukhna area on Deir Ezzor-Palmyra road.

Mijhem al-Saho was born in 1963 in Hjein town in Deir Ezzor countryside.
