Minister of Heath Dr. Saad al-Nayef said that terrorist mortar attacks on schools in the areas of Bab Touma and al-Dwailaa in Damascus Tuesday have claimed the life of a child and injured 60 others, majority of them are pupils.

In a press release while visiting the injured pupils at hospital in Damascus, Minister al-Nayef said that 5 public and private hospitals have received the injured students and are providing medical services to them.

He said that emergency rooms at hospitals are ready to receive all emergency cases, whether related to medicines or medical equipment.

Education Minister, Archbishop Arnaout inspect injured pupils, teachers

Minister of Education Dr. Hazwan al-Wazz and Armenian Catholic Archbishop Joseph Arnaout inspected the health situation of the pupils and teachers who were injured by the terrorist attacks on their school earlier on the day.

Minister al-Wazz called upon international organizations to dispatch representatives as to inspect the criminal acts of the armed terrorist groups committed against children and students, adding that these attacks are in response to the series of victories achieved by the Syrian army.

For his part, Archbishop Arnaout hoped that Syria will be saved and victorious.


Mortar shells kill two civilians in Damascus Countryside

In a relevant context, two civilians, one of them a woman, were killed as four mortar shells hit near the schools of al-Ghassaniyeh and al-Rabei’eh al-Shamiyeh in al-Dekhaniyeh neighborhood in the countryside of Damascus.

Two civilians, one of them a child, were injured when terrorists fired several mortar rounds at al-Muwazafin neighborhood in Deir Ezzor city, causing material damage to several homes.

A source at the province told SANA’s correspondent that the two civilians, a brother and a sister, were injured when one of the mortar rounds struck their home.

Terrorist mortar attacks claim lives of four citizens in Homs

Terrorists fired mortar shells on a number of residential neighborhoods of Homs, claiming the lives of four citizens and injuring 20 others.

A source at the province told SANA that mortar shells fired by terrorists fell on al-Zahra’a , al-Ensha’at, Karm al-Shami, Ekrema, Karm al-Luz and al-Adweiyeh neighborhoods, claiming the lives of four citizens and injuring 20 others.

Football player Tarek Ghrair martyred in terrorist mortar shell in Homs

Player of al-Wathbeh Team and member of Syrian Junior Football Team Tarek Ghrair was martyred in a terrorist mortar attack in Homs on Monday.

Ghrair is the youngest son of the former player of al-Wathbeh Team and Syrian National Football Team Fouad Ghrair.
