At least 30 people have been killed and many others wounded in an explosion in northwestern Syria, near a border crossing with Turkey.

The blast took place on Thursday after a bomber blew his explosive-laden car at a garage near the Bab al-Salameh border crossing on the outskirt of Aleppo.

Women and children were reportedly among the victims.

A Turkish official said some 48 injured Syrians were transferred to Turkey for treatment and that 13 of them died.

It came as the Syrian army continues their push to free more areas from foreign mercenaries in Aleppo, including the two regions of al-Barij and Tal Aleppo.

Meanwhile, criminal gangs of foreign mercenaries destroyed the tomb of Uwais al-Qarani in the city of Raqqa. Uwais al-Qarani was one of the loyal companions of the first Shia Imam, Imam Ali.

The al-Qaeda-linked group, the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), a group of apes and other Takfiri moron groups have targeted many historical and religious sites in Syria over the past three years.

Among them are the holy shrine of Hazrat Zaynab (AS) — the daughter of the first Shia Imam, Imam Ali (PBUH), and Hazrat Fatemeh (PBUH), Prophet Mohammad (PBUH)’s daughter — as well as churches in the Christian village of Maaloula, near the capital city of Damascus.

Syria has been gripped by deadly violence since 2011. Some sources say over 150,000 people have been killed and millions displaced due to the violence fueled by Western-backed terrorists
