Daesh (also known as ‘Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant’, ISIL or ISIS) is not counted a threat to Iranˈs military might and it can not cross border areas with Iraq, an Iranian senior commander said on Saturday.

Lieutenant Commander of the Army Ground Force Brigadier General Kioumars Heidari told reporters that Iranian forces have an active presence in the border areas to counter potential threats.

Daesh brutal attacks have displaced thousands of people in Syria and Iraq and hundreds of people have been executed by the terrorist group.

The terrorist group in its self-proclaimed state as an Islamic caliphate claims religious authority over all Muslims across the world and aspires to bring much of the Muslim-inhabited regions under its direct political control.

The group has been recognized as a foreign terrorist organization by the United Nations Security Council.

Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has admitted in her memoirs titled Hard Choices that the United States had a role in creation of Daesh.
