The Iranian leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs, Dr. Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and Iran’s Speaker of Parliament, Ali Larijani:

“USA regime aims to deploy troops in Iraq and increase military presence in Mideast, while the real target of the strikes against Daesh is to destroy Syrian infrastructures”

Ayatollah Khamenei:
“US seeks military presence in Mideast”

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says the US seeks to expand its military presence in the Middle East region by declaring war on the Takfiri ISIL terrorists.

Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks on Monday after he was discharged from hospital following a successful surgery. He was hospitalized last week at one of Tehran’s public hospitals and underwent a prostate surgery.

The Leader described as “absurd, hollow and biased” remarks made by US officials regarding the formation of a so-called international coalition to battle the ISIL terrorist group.

Ayatollah Khamenei noted that there is ample evidence of US officials’ contradictory allegations with regards to inviting Iran to the international conference currently underway in France, aimed at countering the rising threat of ISIL.

During the difficult days that ISIL attacked Iraq, the US ambassador to Iraq submitted a request to our ambassador to Iraq calling for a meeting to be held between Iran and Iraq for negotiation and coordination on [the issue of] ISIL,” the Leader said.

Ayatollah Khamenei added that although some official in Iran were not against such a meeting, “I opposed [the US request] and told them we will not cooperate with the Americans on this issue because their intent and hands are not clean and how it is possible for us to cooperate with the Americans under such conditions?”

The Leader further noted that although the US Secretary of State John Kerry announced a few days ago that the US will not invite Iran to be part of the coalition fighting ISIL, “the same US secretary of state had personally asked [Iranian Foreign Minister] Dr. [Javad] Zarif” for cooperation against ISIL, but “Dr. Zarif had rejected his offer.”

Now they are falsely claiming that ‘we will not let Iran be part of the [anti-ISIL] coalition’, while Iran had voiced its opposition to being a party to that coalition from the very beginning,” Ayatollah Khamenei stated.

The Leader further hailed the efforts made by the Iraqi nation and army in battling the ISIL Takfiri terrorists, noting that this was Iraqi army and nation, and not the Americans, who crushed the ISIL in Iraq.

The Paris meeting is being held as the US is forming a so-called international coalition to battle the Takfiri ISIL militants.

On Friday, US President Barack Obama said that the United States is assembling an international coalition with the goal to “snuff out” the ISIL terrorist group, adding that such extremist groups have “no place in the 21st century.”

The ISIL terrorists control large parts of Syria’s east and north. ISIL also sent its Takfiri militants into Iraq in June, seizing large swathes of land straddling the border between Syria and Iraq.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian

“US aims to deploy troops in Iraq”

Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said in Tehran on Sunday that the US attempts to return back to Iraq and make military re-deployment there.

Speaking to the UN special representative for Iraq Nikolai Mladenov, Amir-Abdollahian criticized the US poor performance in campaign against terrorist groups, especially Daesh, and said there are serious doubts in the US action in countering Daesh terrorist groups because the US sees return to Iraq and make military re-deployment there instead of concentrating more on campaign against Daesh.

He highlighted the role of the UN in helping Iraq security and progress and urged continuation of such efforts.

He said that the Islamic Republic of Iran supports the UN constructive efforts in Iraq.

He said that the US is pursuing contradictory approach in Iraq and Syria.

‘The key to campaign against terrorism is countering its root-causes and strengthening Iraqi government and the nation and appreciate the Iraqi popular forces in campaign against terrorism.’

He reaffirmed Iran’s support for united Iraq and said, ‘In light of national unity and integrity of Iraq, the outstanding role of Marjaiat (religious Jurisprudence) and devotion of armed forces, people and popular forces of the country, have led to improvement of political and security situation in Iraq. The country is expected to rely on national potentials to clean up remnants of the terrorist forces.’

Amir-Abdollahian then underlined the need for adoption of united approach in campaign against terrorism in Iraq and Syria to eliminate terrorism in the region.

Mladenov for his part lauded Iran’s constructive and positive role in Iraq and Tehran’s speedy response to request of the Iraqi government in campaign against terrorism.

‘We were not shocked with such a move because security of the two countries is inter-related. The key to Iraq political crisis is respect for the Constitution as the yardstick for the Iraqi political parties.’

Ali Larijani:
“Anti-ISIL strikes meant to destroy Syria infrastructure”

Iran’s Majlis speaker (Iran’s Speaker of Parliament) has criticized the US-led aerial military campaign in Syria, saying the strikes are meant to destroy the infrastructure of the Arab country.

“The US president (Barack Obama) has declared that he will obliterate ISIL. However, this served as an excuse to assemble a coalition and destroy Syria’s infrastructure,” Ali Larijani said in Tehran on Wednesday.

He also warned the leaders of the countries that have participated in the US-led strikes of Washington’s plans to further its military dominance in Iraq and bring its puppets to power in Syria.

On September 29, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said, “The illegal and insane US attacks on Syria will only lead to further strengthening of extremism in the region.”

He noted that the US is actually destroying the Syrian infrastructure in its so-called campaign against ISIL Takfiris, arguing that that Washington must prove its honesty by blocking the Takfiri group’s financial transactions.

Since September 22, the US and its allies, including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Jordan, have been conducting airstrikes against the ISIL inside Syria without any authorization from Damascus or a UN mandate.

The airstrikes are an extension of the US-led aerial campaign against ISIL positions in Iraq.

Washington has been supporting the militants operating against the government in Syria since March 2011. Many ISIL terrorists have reportedly received training by the CIA in Jordan and Turkey.

“Tehran won’t allow any foreign monitoring of missile capability”

A senior Iranian security official says any foreign inspection of the national missile capability is out of the question.
Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani told reporters that Iran’s missile program has no deviation towards unconventional weapons. Shamkhani noted that the range of Iranian missiles corresponds to the threats facing the country. He added that enemies have taken military action against Iran off their agenda because they know that it’ll cost them heavily. Iran has already made it clear that its missile program is non-negotiable. The country is currently holding talks with the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany over its nuclear activities.
