Units of the army and the armed forces on Sunday (21/12/2013) continued to tighten the noose around terrorists through launching wide-scale military operations against them across the country, inflicting heavy losses upon them.


Army and armed forces units targeted terrorists’ gatherings in Handarat Camp, Ain Jara, al-Halk, al-Borqoum, Qbesin, al-Bab and south of Keshesh airport in the province, killing many of them and injuring others, in addition to destroying their vehicles and weapons.


Units of the army and the armed forces killed a number of terrorists in Housh Hajjo, Ruhoum and foiled their two attempts to infiltrate into al-Waer farms and other from the villages of Um Sahreej and Unq al-Hawa into Maksar al-Husan in the countryside of the province


Units of the army and the armed forces killed and injured scores of terrorists in Mar’ian, Ihsem, around al-Arba’een mountain, M’artamsarin, Hmeimat al-Daer, al-Debshiyeh, Abu al-Duhour and Sarmin in the countryside of the northern province.

The army also clashed with terrorists who tried to attack a military post near Ariha and targeted terrorists in the areas of Binnesh, al-Dabshyeh, al-Bwaiti, Umm Jarin, Baya’at al-Sakhana, Qar’ al-Ghazal, al-Shweiha, al-Majas, Warida and Maarat al-Numan in Idleb countryside.


Military operations on Saturday have left increasing numbers of terrorists killed and others wounded during targeting their dens and gatherings in some areas and repelling their infiltration attempts in others.


Units of the army and the armed forces killed a number of Jabhat al-Nusra-linked terrorists and injured others in the main square in al-Rastan city in the countryside of the central province of Homs.

Some social media pages following terrorist organizations circulated news about the execution of the leader of the so-called “Khalid Ibn al-Walid Brigade”, Hassan al-Ashtar, by Jabhat al-Nusra in al-Rastan area.

The army also repelled terrorists who attempted to infiltrate from the villages of Rahoum and Onq al-Hawa towards Maksar al-Husan in the countryside.

In September 2013, organizations affiliated to the so-called “Jabhat al-Nusra for Ahl al-Sham” and “Ahrar al-Sham Movement” committed a massacre against the people of Maksar al-Husan, claiming the lives of 17 civilians, including women.


Positions and hideouts of the terrorists were hit in during army operations in the villages of Khsheir, al-Zahabiyeh, Tal al-Touqan, al-Debshiyeh, Talab, Biyaa al-Kabira and al-Mistriheh in the surrounding of Abu al-Duhour Airport in the countryside of the northern province of idleb.

Several dens for terrorist organizations were targeted and destroyed by army units in Ta’oum village, with many of their members getting killed or wounded.

Osama Harb, Tharwat Harb, Mustafa Harb and Hassan Ahmad Hajj Qassem were identified among the killed terrorists.

More terrorists were killed in operations that targeted their dens, along with the weapons and ammunition inside them, in Ain al-Bardeh and Jabal Hallouz near Jisr al-Shughour.

Members of the terrorist organizations operating in Qmeinas village suffered losses as units of the army carried out special operations that directly targeted their positions.


In the southern province of Daraa, units of the army and the armed forces killed numbers of terrorists and wounded others to the south of the old Customs building in Daraa al-Balad and in al-Hamadin neighborhood in Daraa al-Mahata in the city.


Increasing numbers of ISIS terrorists killed, army pushes ahead with military operations. Army units continued crackdown on terrorists in several areas across the country, dealing heavy blows to their organizations and rolling back their advances.


A military source said units of the Army and Armed Forces destroyed gatherings of terrorist organizations in al-Melbieh and al-Shbeeb villages south of al-Hasaka province.


In Hama, army units pounded dens of terrorist organizations in Ma’azraf town and Abu Hbeilat and Akareb al-Safi villages in the province’s eastern countryside.


Units of the Army and Armed Forces destroy terrorists’ vehicles and dens in Karima, al-Dabshia, Tal Mrir, Sarja, Ayn al-Soda and Nahla in Idleb countryside, according to a military source.


The Army smashed armed terrorist organizations’ strongholds in a number of Homs neighborhoods and towns, killing several terrorists from the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist organization.

A military source told SANA that the army foiled a terrorist attack by ISIS terrorists on the marble quarries in Palmyra countryside, killing many of them.

The source added that scores of ISIS terrorists were also killed through a special army operation against their positions in the surrounding of Jazal oil well in the eastern countryside.


An army unit destroyed an arms cache, rockets, vehicles and dens for Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists, killing a number of them in al-Farz, the area surrounding Bradoun Dam, Ain al-Bayda, al-Bashoura, Jabal Zahi and Otaira in Lattakia countryside.


A military source said Army and Armed Forces’ units eliminated a number of terrorists who attempted to attack military checkpoints in al-Faqeaa, al-Dali and Daraa al-Balad.

The units also destroyed takfiri terrorist organizations’ dens in Tafas, Zamrin, Samlin, Tal Shihab, al-Yadoda, Dael, al-Sheikh Myskeen, Ibtaa, al-Harra, Um al-Mayazen and Saida in Daraa countryside.

Deir Ezzor

The army killed a number of Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorists following many special operations against their dens and gatherings in Deir Ezzor.

A military source told SANA that scores of ISIS terrorists were killed and many others wounded in an accurate operation against their gatherings in al-Bu Omar town on the right bank of Euphrates river to the east of Deir Ezzor.

The source added that the army also destroyed dens and vehicles of terrorists in al-Jafra town to the east of the city.

In Deir Ezzor central city, the army killed a number of ISIS terrorists who were stationed inside a building for Pharmix medical company.
