Foreign Ministry: “UNCHR statement on events in Idleb included fallacies, forging realities”

(SANA/Mazen Eyon) ~ Foreign and Expatriates Ministry on Wednesday sent a letter to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights ( UNCHR) on the dangerous events in Idleb, showing the volume of a lot of fallacies and mistakes included in the Commissioner’s press statement and attempts of falsifying realities and misleading the international public opinion about what is going on in Syria.

“The content of the UNCHR issued on March 31st on the dangerous events in Idleb has included a lot of fallacies and attempts of forging realities and misleading the international public opinion about what is going on in Syria,” the Ministry said in the letter.

It added that several days ago, thousands of terrorists from “Jabhat al-Nusra” attacked the two cities of Bosra al-Sham and Idleb after firing them with hundreds of rocket shells for many days, entering from the south through Jordan into Bosra al-Sham and entering from the north through Turkey into Idleb, storming the safe neighborhoods and perpetrating the most ugliest crimes against civilians, forcing them to flee to regions where the Syrian state control.

“Initial reports say that the attack on Idleb led to displacing nearly 30 thousand people, 10 thousand of them were children, in addition to demolishing Idleb hospital by the armed terrorist organizations,” the letter affirmed.

It added that Jabhat al-Nusra, funded and supported by Al Saud and the Turkish regime, is a terrorist organization linked to al-Qaeda according to UN Security Council resolutions, and it is regrettable that UNCHR describes it along with other terrorist organizations, as ” a coalition of armed anti- government groups, yet, turning a blind eye to facts and realities with which world countries have acknowledged contrary to.

“It is also regrettable the UNCHR claims that Syrian government’s planes bombarded the Red Crescent Hospital in Idleb while those, whom the press statement describes as “armed anti-government groups”, destroyed the hospital with a testimony of the international organizations,” the Ministry said.

It added that shelling the city by armed terrorist organizations and the chaos they created led to the displacement of thousands of civilians into safe areas where the Syrian State controls.

“The army of the Syrian Arab Republic fights terrorism on behalf of the Syrian people and the peoples of world countries in defense of human, justice, freedom and good life values,” the latter said.

It added that the UNCHR continued selective and biased dealing with the situation in Syria through concentrating on what it calls “violations of army forces” and its deliberate ignorance of the violations and crimes of what is names ” a collation of armed anti-government groups” is a noticeable matter and even it stirs astonishment and condemnation alike.

Syria urges international community to honor its counter-terrorism obligations

(SANA/Manal Ismael) ~ Syria complained to the UN over the recent terrorist carnage in the central province of Hama. Over 60 civilians, mostly women and children, were slaughtered or shot dead and many others injured on Tuesday in a terrorist assault against al-Mabouja village in al-Salamieh countryside in Hama province. The assailants are also holding a number of the village’s locals hostage.

In two identical letters addressed to the UN Secretary-General and Head of the UN Security Council, the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry urged the international community to honor its obligations in fighting terrorism and extremist groups by cooperating and coordinating with the Syrian government to fight this “dangerous scourge.”

The perpetrators of the massacre are the same ones that some states like to dub “moderate opposition” in an attempt to cover their crimes which would not have been possible without the direct support provided for them by countries which unabashedly claim to be Syria’s friends.

The ministry said that the massacres and crimes against humanity that terrorists are committing in Syria make it imperative for peace-loving countries to take punitive measures against the countries supporting and financing terrorist organizations.

The letters concluded by affirming that Syria is bent on fighting terrorism and protecting its citizens, urging the UN Security Council to enforce its counter-terrorism resolutions and take firm line against violators.
