The Syrian forces and Hezbollah regained control of 78 sq/k of Ras al-Mara region
The Syrian forces and Hezbollah regained control of 78 sq/k of Ras al-Mara region which connects the al-Jabbah and Falitah districts, the Northern and Southern parts of Qalamoun. They also regained control of the hills, plains and mountains of the region in the first phase.
Some 275 sq/k of the Syrian lands were purged of the Takfiri militants and another 25 sq/k of areas along the border with Lebanon were also captured by the Syrian army and Hezbollah.
In the second phase, the Syrian-Hezbollah forces plan to lay siege to the hills of Western Qalamoun, including the strategic hill of Moussa, and to advance towards Falitah from various sides.
The Syrian forces and Hezbollah fighters are due to move from the Lebanese border areas towards Falitah to lay siege to the Takfiri militants there.
The Syria-Hezbollah joint forces aim to regain control of Falitah which is connected to the Lebanese Arsal district, where terrorists are stationed.
Cutting off the route between Arsal and Falitah will also cut the route between al-Jarajir and Qareh regions, meaning that the terrorists will be besieged in separated areas and the Martabia strategic passage will come within the range of the artillery fire of the Syrian forces and Hezbollah.
