Supported by the Syrian government and under the auspices of the Higher Relief Committee, the General Authority for Palestine Arab Refugees (GAPAR) and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) continued the distribution of food packages and health baskets to Yarmouk Camp displaced people who fled the neighborhood to escape the crimes of the terrorist organizations, particularly DAESH (the so called ‘Islamic State of Iraq and Syria’, ISIS or ISIL).
Ali Mustafa, the GAPAR Director General said in a statement to SANA that the medical aid included medicines and 200,000 chlorine water purification tablets distributed in coordination with Damascus Countryside governorate to displaced families who are currently staying in the areas of Yelda, Bebila, and Beit Sahm in Damascus Countryside.
Mustafa said that food and health aid will also continue to be provided to displaced people from the camp who are staying in Zainab al-Hilaliyeh center in al-Tadamon area.
Residents of the terrorist-besieged Yarmouk Camp in southern Damascus were forced to flee their homes in April after terrorists from ISIS entered the area with the help of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization.
