 Saudi's Senior Army Commander Killed

Saudi Centcom Chief in Jizan Killed

(Fars News Agency) ~ The Central Command Commander of Saudi Arabia’s Jizan province was killed in clashes with the tribal forces in Najran, Yemeni sources said Wednesday.

Ali al-Hamazani, a Yemeni activist, told FNA today that tens of Saudi military men were killed in clashes with the tribal forces in the Southern province of Najran, specially al-Khazra passage, near the Saudi-Yemeni borders.

“The Saudi forces were attempting to advance in a region fully controlled by Labsa’ tribe which is seen as one of the most dangerous threats to the Saudi army, but they faced the tribal forces’ ambush and sustained heavy damages,” he added.

Hamazani said that the tribal forces destroyed a number of Saudi military vehicles and targeted a military base in the region with a barage of missiles attacks which killed tens of Saudi military men, including Jizan’s centcom commander.

Fierce clashes also erupted on Saturday between the Saudi army and opposition forces in the province of Najran in the Southern parts of the Arab country.

Early reports said tens of Saudi troops were killed in clashes with the tribal forces in Najran province, one of the tribal heads said Saturday.

The tribes of Najran have declared war against the Saudi government since several months ago for the Riyadh government’s aggression the Yemeni nation. The Najran’s tribes say that Najran is part of Yemen and the Saudi regime has captured it by force.

Meantime, the local sources in Najran disclosed that the head of Hamzan tribe, Sheikh Ali al-Hamzani has been assassinated in the Southern parts of Najran.

Last Sunday, the Yemeni army and the Popular Committees gained control of several areas in the city of Al-Khubah in the Saudi province of Jizan.

The Yemeni forces seized several areas in Al-Khubah city, including Qamar, Al-Dhahira and West of Dar Al-Nasr towns, killing and injuring scores of Saudi troops on Sunday. Nine Saudi vehicles were also destroyed.

Saudi Arabia has been striking Yemen for 189 days now to restore power to Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh. The Saudi-led aggression has so far killed at least 6,429 Yemenis, including hundreds of women and children.

Hadi stepped down in January and refused to reconsider the decision despite calls by Ansarullah revolutionaries of the Houthi movement.

Despite Riyadh’s claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi warplanes are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.
