Armenian Orthodox community in Syria Celebrates Christmas
(6 January 2016)
The Armenian Orthodox community of the Eastern Orthodox liturgical calendar in Syria celebrated Wednesday Christmas at St. Sarkis Church for the Armenian Orthodox in Damascus.
Bishop Armash Nalbandian, Primate of the Armenian Church of Damascus, delivered Christmas sermon in which he asserted that Syria will remain forever a highlight for the nations in enhancing amity and fraternization.
“We celebrate today the birth of Jesus Christ who is the prophet of love and peace as we pray and ask God to make peace prevailing in Syria”, Nalbandian said.
He said that Syrian’s awareness will remain the first guarantor for its victory in the face of the tribulations and conspiracies hatched against it.
The Bishop congratulated on this occasion the Syrian people and the sponsor of peace, president Bashar al-Assad, who is the guarantee of peace in Syria.
Orthodox Christian communities around the world organize their Christmas celebrations on January 6 which marks the start of Christmas Eve for much of the Eastern Christian world.

I too am pleased that this was posted for many to see what Mr. Assad does as a ruler of Syria. I do understand that the country is non-sectarian , but the Western media , unfortunately never shows this on it’s news. I have reposted on F/B for my friends to see. God bless Syria !
You know it warms my heart to see how it is for Christians in a predominantly Islamic/Muslim country. We hear so much bad about Islam, how it is intolerant of Christians. But i am learning more, and i think it is the terrorists (isis et all, types)giving Muslims/Islam the bad name. Thank you Mr Assad, you are a shining light & credit to your own spirituality, for your kind tolerance of people of other faiths.May our Heavenly Father Bless & Protect You Always. Happy New Year to Mr Assad and Syria and all at Syria Free Press, God Bless from friend (uk)
It wasn’t always like this, History is a lie so Western countries could benefit from wars and the richness they’ve stolen from Eastern, African and Asian countries.
Actually France would be like a third World country if it wasn’t for Africa’s resources.
