Moscow says Turkey blocks passage of relief cargoes via Turkish-Syrian border

(TASS) ~ Turkey is creating problems for the passage of relief cargoes via the Turkish-Syria border, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Friday.

“In accordance with UN Security Council resolution 2165, UN and its partners can send relief aid via two checkpoints.

The Syrian side has given its consent to the transits.

Turkey gives its consent on and off, often with great delays,” the Russian diplomat went on to say.

“UN representatives are not physically present at these checkpoints, so there is no one to exercise control,” Zakharova said.
