Syrian Army Command confirms establishes control
over al-Badiyeh Cement Company and the
Scientific Research Center in Damascus Countryside
The Syrian Arab Army fully recaptured Badia Cement Factory on the eastern outskirts of Damascus after wrestling its industrial buildings from Daesh. Also Khan Abu Shamat Base was seized from Daesh by government forces. This offensive was conducted by the 120th Brigade & 81st Brigade of the 2nd Division while Syrian warjets have carried out tens of airstrikes on Daesh positions.
Last week Daesh launched an offensive near Dumayr Airbase and captured Badia Cement Factory, kidnapping 300 Syrian workers. The government advance has fully reversed all gains made by Daesh in the eastern countryside of Damascus, thus driving away the terrorist gangs.
A military source said an army unit, in cooperation with popular defense groups, established control over al-Badiyeh Cement Company and the Scientific Research Center in Abu al-Shamat area in Damascus Countryside.
An army unit targeted one of ISIS gatherings in al-Rashidiya neighborhood in Deir Ezzor city, destroying one of its vehicles, according to field sources.
The sources added that many ISIS members were killed and others were injured in a sortie conducted by the Syrian Air Force against one of ISIS sites in al-Jafra village to the east of Deir Ezzor city.
