The ISIL’s Katiba Tabouk military base in the city of Qaem in Western Anbar province was completely annihilated on Sunday after the Iraqi army received intelligence tips about the exact location of the military base.

“The Iraqi Army troops, Anbar’s police and anti-terrorism special units beat the ISIL back from Albu Risheh and Tawa in the Northern side of al-Ramadi,” General al-Mahlawi said, adding, “The army’s artillery units played very crucial role in the pro-government forces’ advances against militants in the region.”

In relevant developments on Tuesday, Iraq’s joint military forces started fresh military operations to seize back a strategic area in the Northern part of the city of Ramadi.

“The Iraqi forces kicked off their military operations to take control of al-Zankoureh region in Northern Ramadi,” the Arabic-language media quoted al-Mahlawi as saying.

Military Strategist: Syrian Army Homs Operations
Blocking Terrorists’ Flow to Syria From Iraq

(Fars News Agency, 7 July 2016) ~ A senior military expert underlined that the Syrian army’s military operations in the Eastern part of Homs province will prevent the Takfiri terrorists from escaping Iraq to Eastern Syria.

“The Syrian army’s advances in Eastern Homs is taking place with the goal of cutting the terrorists supply routes in Syria and preventing them from finding a way for escape to Syria from Iraq,” Issa al-Zaher told FNA on Thursday.

He noted that the Homs operations will also cut the terrorists’ supply routes in Raqqa province and open up the path for supplying the Syrian army and it allies with military hardware and equipment.

Earlier on Thursday, media reports said that the Syrian army with the support of pro-government forces repulsed terrorists’ attack on army’s defense lines in a key region in the Eastern part of Homs province.

“The Syrian army managed to thwart the Takfiri terrorists’ offensive on their military positions in Abu al-Alaya region in Eastern Homs,” the Arabic-language media outlets quoted an unnamed battlefield source as saying.

Scores of ISIL terrorists were killed and wounded in the Syrian army’s counteroffensive in Eastern Homs.

The Syrian fighter jets, in a fresh round of combat flights, targeted ISIL’s concentration centers in the Eastern and Northeastern territories of Homs province, leaving dozens of the terrorists dead or wounded.

The Syrian army aircraft pounded one of the ISIL bases along the group’s communication road in the Western side of the village of Tal Omri, which ended in the killing of several militants and destruction of their military equipment.

ISIL’s gatherings in Southeastern side of the ancient city of Palmyra (Tadmur) were also attacked by the Syrian jet.

In relevant development on Monday, the Syrian warplanes traced and targeted a long column of ISIL’s military vehicles on a road in the Eastern side of Palmyra city, causing serious damage on the convoy.

The army aircraft pounded ISIL’s convoy near the desert town of al-Sukhneh in Eastern Homs, leaving most of the militant vehicles damaged.

In the meantime, the Syrian fighter jets targeted ISIL’s gathering centers near the town of Khneifes in Southern side of Palmyra, which not only claimed the lives of several militants but destroyed their machinegun-equipped vehicles.
