U.S. aircrafts target Syrian Army position in Deir Ezzor

(SANA) ~ The General Command of the Army and Armed Forces said that US alliance aircrafts targeted at 5 PM on Saturday a Syrian Arab Army position in al-Tharda Mountain in the surroundings of Deir Ezzor Airport, causing losses in lives and equipment and clearly paved the way for ISIS terrorists to attack the position and take control of it.

In a statement, the General Command said that this act is a serious and blatant aggression against the Syrian Arab Republic and its army, and constitutes conclusive evidence that the United States and its allies support ISIS and other terrorist organizations, stressing that this act reveals the falseness of their claims of fighting terrorism.

Russian Defense Ministry: “American aircrafts target Syrian Army position in Deir Ezzor”

The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed that the US alliance aircrafts that attacked the Syrian Arab Army position in al-Tharda Mountain are in fact American aircrafts.

The Ministry said in a statement that 4 American jet fighters (2 F-16 jets and 2 A-10 jets) entered the Syrian airspace across the Iraqi borders, and attacked a Syrian Arab Army position in al-Tharda Mountain in Deir Ezzor’s southeastern countryside, claiming a number of lives and injuring others.

The Ministry explained that the attack allowed terrorists from ISIS to take control of the mountain which is near Deir Ezzor Military Airport.

UPDATE: Syrian Army units recover control over areas lost due to U.S. attack on areas in Deir Ezzor

(SANA) ~ Army and Armed Forces units managed to recover control over all the areas it had lost control over earlier due to American aircraft attack on army positions in the surroundings of Deir Ezzor Airport.

Reporters said that following a quick and precise operation in which they targeted ISIS terrorists with heavy fire, army units managed to recover control over all areas that it had lost control over due to the American attack which allowed ISIS to seize them, including al-Tharda Mountain which is a strategic position overlooking Deir Ezzor Airport, a vital lifeline for providing supplies to Deir Ezzor city and army units in the area.

4 American jet fighters, 2 F-16 jets and 2 A-10 jets, had entered the Syrian airspace and attacked army positions in al-Tharda Mountain in Deir Ezzor’s southeastern countryside, claiming a number of lives and injuring others, which allowed ISIS terrorists to seize the mountain.

Army units destroy 4 vehicles for ISIS in Aleppo’s eastern countryside

Army and Armed Forces units thwarted on Saturday an attack by ISIS terrorists in the surroundings of the Air Force Academy in Aleppo’s eastern countryside.

A military source told SANA that army units clashed with terrorist groups from ISIS in the surroundings of the Air Force Academy 40 km northeast of Aleppo city on the highway to Raqqa, which resulted in killing many terrorists and destroying 4 cars equipped with machineguns.

(SANA) ~ Reporters in Quneitra said that the Israeli enemy attacked a position in the surroundings of Khan Arnaba town in Quneitra countryside within the framework of its direct support to the Takfiri terrorist organizations that commit massacres and crimes against locals in Quneitra countryside.

On September 13th, at 01:00 AM, the Syrian Air Defense Forces repelled the Israeli enemy’s air force that attacked a Syrian military position in Quneitra countryside, shooting down an Israeli warplane to the southwest of Quneitra and an Israeli drone to the west of Sa’sa’ town in the southwestern countryside of Damascus.

U.S.-led coalition aircraft strike Syrian army positions, kill 62 soldiers

(RT News) ~ US-led coalition jets have bombed Syrian government forces’ positions near the eastern city of Deir ez-Zor, killing 62 troops and “paving the way” for Islamic State militants, the Syrian Army General Command told the state television.

The bombing took place on al-Tharda Mountain in the region of Deir ez-Zor and caused casualties and destruction on the ground, Syria’s official SANA news agency reported on Saturday.

Sixty-two Syrian soldiers were killed and over 100 injured in the airstrike by the US-led coalition, Russia’s Defense Ministry spokesman, Major-General Igor Konashenkov, said, citing information received from the Syrian General Command.

The Russian Defense Ministry said that the aircraft which carried out the bombings had entered Syrian airspace from the territory of Iraq.

Four strikes against Syrian positions was performed by two F-16 jet fighters and two A-10 support aircraft, it added.

“If the airstrike was caused by the ‘wrong coordinates’ of targets than it’s a direct consequence of the stubborn unwillingness of the American side to coordinate with Russia in its actions against terrorist groups in Syria,” Konashenkov stressed.

The Defense Ministry also confirmed a report by SANA that an Islamic State offensive began right after Syrian Army positions were hit from the air.

“Immediately after the airstrike by coalition planes, Islamic State militants launched their offensive. Fierce fighting with the terrorists is currently underway in the area of the airport where for a long a time humanitarian aid for civilians was parachuted,” Konashenkov said.

The Syrian General Command has called the bombing a “serious and blatant aggression” against Syrian forces, and said it was “conclusive evidence” that the US and its allies support IS militants.

According to a news release of the US Department of Defense, the coalition’s aviation performed combat missions in Dier ez-Zor on Saturday.

“We are aware of the reports and checking with Centcom and CJTF (Combined Joint Task Force),” the Pentagon told RT.

The US Central Command later has issued a statement, saying that it had no intention of targeting Syrian government forces near Dier ez-Zor.

“Syria is a complex situation with various military forces and militias in close proximity, but [the] coalition would not intentionally strike a known Syrian military unit,” the statement read.

CENTCOM promised that the strike and circumstances surrounding it will be reviewed “to see if any lesson can be learned.”

Earlier on Saturday, Russia accused the US of being reluctant to take measures to force rebels under its control to fall in line with the terms of the Syrian ceasefire.

Numerous Russian appeals to the American side remain unanswered, which “raises doubts over the US’s ability to influence opposition groups under their control and their willingness to further ensure the implementation of the Geneva agreements,” senior Russian General Staff official, Viktor Poznikhir, said.

Poznikhir also said that the truce is being used by the militants to regroup, resupply and prepare an offensive against government troops.

Last week, Moscow and Washington agreed to influence the Syrian government and the so-called moderate rebel forces respectively in order to establish a ceasefire in the country.

Since then, Russia has repeatedly complained that the US is failing to keep its part of the bargain. The US, on its part, has blamed Russia for not pressuring Damascus enough to facilitate humanitarian access to Syria.
