Syrian Army establishes full control over 3rd deserted Battalion in Palmyra and continued advance towards Tal al-Dabe’ in the countryside of Homs and Damascus ~ SAAF airstrikes against Daesh positions in the surroundings of Deir Ezzor city
29 January، 2017 ~ Syrian Army units, backed by the supporting Forces, established full control over the 3rd deserted Battalion in Palmyra and continued advance towards Tal al-Dabe’ in the countryside of Homs and Damascus.
A military source told SANA Sunday that the army units established full control over the 3rd deserted Battalion north of Elab al-Tayas hills in Palmyra area in the eastern countryside of Homs province after eliminating a number of ISIS terrorists and destroying their weapons.
The source added that the army units continued pursuing the ISIS terrorists towards Jehar Roundabout in the east direction.
Earlier today, the army units eliminated scores of ISIS terrorists and destroyed their weapons and ammunition after targeting their fortifications and movement axes on the direction of al-Nasiriyeh-al-Qaryateen towns in the eastern countryside of Damascus and southeastern countryside of Homs province.
The source added that the army units in cooperation with the supporting forces continued their operations against the ISIS terrorist organization and chased its members who fled away, achieving advance towards Tal al-Dabe’ al-Sharqi in the area.
Deir Ezzor
The Army Air Force carried out a series of airstrikes against the ISIS positions in the surroundings of Deir Ezzor city.
SANA reporter said Sunday that the army airstrikes targeted the ISIS fortifications and movement axes in al-Howeiqa, Haweijet Saker, Aiyash warehouses, and al-Rushdiyeh neighborhood and in the surroundings of the Panorama, al-Thardeh and Deir Ezzor Airport.
The source added that a number of ISIS terrorists were killed and injured in the army airstrikes in addition to destroying their positions and vehicles, some equipped with heavy machineguns.
Moreover, warplanes of the Syrian Army killed more than 30 ISIS terrorists in al-Tharda mountain, Mostodaat(warehouses) Ayash, to the east of the Airport and to the northwest of Tal Borouk in Deir Ezzor Province.
Russian sappers demine more explosives and mines from buildings and streets in eastern Aleppo city
Lattakia, 28/01/2017 ~ The Russian sappers have demined more hectares in Aleppo city of mines and explosives planted by terrorists in the eastern neighborhoods before they had been expelled out of it.
Hmeimim-based Russian Coordination Center said in a statement that the Russian sappers are going ahead in demining the explosives and mines from the buildings, streets and social centers in the eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo city.
“The sappers defused mines from 58 buildings and 15 kilo meters from the streets during the past 24 hours to be added to other mines defused from 63 houses and 6 mosques in the eastern neighborhoods and 406 explosives earlier,” the center added.
It pointed out that humanitarian aid was provided to more than 4300 civilians from the neighborhoods of al-Sakhour, al-Meridian and al-Sheikh Maqsoud during the past 24 hours.
Damascus Countryside Governor: Syrian Army engineering units are demining al-Figeh spring
Damascus countryside, 28/01/2017 ~ Damascus Countryside Governor Ala’a Ibrhaim said that engineering units in the Syrian Arab Army are working on dismantling IEDs and mines inside al-Figeh spring now that the army has reestablished control over.
Speaking to reporters on Saturday, the Governor affirmed that the army reestablished control over al-Figeh spring, adding that the army is currently stationed inside it after encircling the terrorists and eliminating some of them who are affiliated to Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization.
The governor also said that engineering units are combing the area to clear the spring of mines and explosives, explaining that an agreement was reached on the settlement of the legal status of those who want this, in addition to securing the exit of militants unwilling to take part in the settlement in Wadi Barada, adding that these militants will be heading to Idleb with their families, and that their departure was postponed until tomorrow due to weather.
The governor confirmed that the maintenance teams are expected to enter the spring tomorrow morning to repair damage to the facility of al-Figeh spring after the engineering units are done combing the area.
For his part, Minister of Water Resources Nabil al-Hassan said that maintenance teams are waiting for the final report by the army units inside the spring on clearing it of mines and explosive devices in order to begin repairs.
He pointed out that there will be emergency solutions to return water to Damascus city, and full repairs will be carried out gradually afterwards until the spring is fully restored to working order, noting that prior assessments indicate that the spring sustained heavy damage and that a full assessment of its condition will start on Sunday morning.
Syrian Army units kill ISIS terrorists, destroy big weapon cache in Deir Ezzor
Deir Ezzor, 28/01/2017 ~ The army units, in cooperation with backing forces, carried out Saturday military operations against gatherings of ISIS terrorists in Deir Ezzor city and its eastern countryside.
SANA reporter said that an army unit dealt heavily fired a cache containing big amounts of ammunition at the surrounding area of Al-Ta’amin Brigade to the west of the Airport, demolishing the cache as huge explosions rocked the area due to the destruction of the ammunition.
Meanwhile, the army’s air force carried out night raids on gatherings and fortification points of ISIS terrorists in the neighborhoods of Hweiqa, al-Kanamat, al-Aridi, al-Mohandiseen area, in the surrounding of Deir Ezzor Airport, the village of Maratt and the surrounding of Koniko area in the Badiya of kesham town in the eastern countryside.
The reporter said that the raids inflicted heavy losses upon the terrorists in weaponry and personnel.
According to special sources, a total of 340 terrorists were killed and three car bombs, 20 vehicles equipped with machineguns an d three weapon caches were destroyed in the military operations carried out during the past few days against ISIS terrorists in the neighborhoods of al-Hweiqa, al-Reshdia, al-Kharitta, al-Sheikh Yassin, Salet Keisoum, Koniko and al-Ziraa areas.
Syrian Army kills scores of ISIS terrorists in the Countryside of Damascus and Sweida
Provinces, 27/01/2017 ~ The Syrian army continued operations against terrorist organizations in various areas, hitting their positions and destroying their equipment, including heavy weaponry and vehicles.
Sweida
Army unit killed more than 10 ISIS terrorists and destroy their tanker trucks in the surrounding of al-Rushdiyeh village in the eastern countryside of Sweida province.
Damascus Countryside
A military source told SANA that an army unit ambushed a terrorist group affiliated to ISIS in the barrens of Western Qalamoun in Damascus Countryside.
The source added that due to the operation, the 5 members of the group were killed in addition to seizing their arms and ammunition.
In the Eastern Qalamoun Mountains, the source pointed out that an army unit destroyed a fortified position for ISIS, a vehicle equipped with heavy machinegun and a bus transporting a number of terrorists in Kasarat al-Manqora area.
The source said that the Army’s engineering units dismantled 3 explosive devices that were planted earlier by terrorists on the road of al-Naseria-Tadmur (Palmyra) in order to prevent army units from advancing in the area.
Later, a military source said that an army unit killed 10 ISIS terrorists in al-Qati’a Mountain and destroyed a vehicle along with all terrorists inside it in al-Maramil al-Hamraa area in the eastern Qalamoun Mountains in Damascus countryside.
Syrian Army eliminates terrorists, destroys their vehicles in Deir Ezzor Province, Sweida, Homs
Deir Ezzor Province
Provinces, 26/01/2017 ~ Army units, backed by the supporting forces, clashed with ISIS-linked terrorist groups in the surrounding of Deir Ezzor city and its countryside in Deir Ezzor Province.
SANA reporter in the province said that the clash resulted in killing and injuring a number of ISIS terrorists.
The source added that a number of ISIS terrorist’s vehicles, some equipped with machineguns, and a BMB vehicle were destroyed in al-Maqaber (the Cemeteries) area, in the surrounding of Deir Ezzor Airport, the Panorama area and al-Jafra village in
the eastern countryside of the province.
Sweida
An army unit targeted ISIS hideout in al-Qaser village in the northeastern countryside of Sweida province.
A military source told SANA Thursday that the army operation left all members of the ISIS armed terrorist group dead or injured and destroyed their weapons and ammunition.
Homs
Army units, backed by the supporting forces, expanded operations against gatherings and fortifications of ISIS terrorists in al-Fawaera well area in the eastern countryside of Homs.
The army units continued advancing on al-Fawaera well area, located 15 km southeast of the T4 military airport, after establishing control over the area yesterday.
The army units continued chasing the remaining ISIS terrorists in the area, inflicting heavy losses upon them in personal and equipment.
Syrian Army thwarts ISIS attack on Deir Ezzor Airport, establishes control over al-Fawaera well in Homs countryside
Provinces, 25/01/2017 ~ Army and Armed Forces units on Wednesday thwarted an attack by ISIS on Deir Ezzor Airport, killed ten ISIS terrorists and destroyed their vehicles in the far northeastern part of Damascus Countryside, and made a new advancement in the T4 area in Homs province’s eastern countryside.
Damascus Countryside
A military source told SANA that army units shelled gatherings and movements of ISIS terrorists at the triangular area of Palmyra-Khan al-Manqoura road at the far northeastern part of Damascus Countryside at the outskirts of Badiya desert area.
The source added that at least ten terrorists were killed and two vehicles equipped with heavy machineguns were destroyed during the operation.
The source also pointed out that an engineering unit dismantled 14 explosives planted by the terrorists on Qarn al-Kibesh road at the eastern mountains of Qalamoun.
Homs
Units of army expanded scope of their operations to the direction of T-4, established control on al-Fawa’ara Battalion and restored a number of positions on T-4-Tadmur axis east of the Fourth station in Homs eastern countryside.
In the eastern countryside of Homs province, army units, in cooperation with supporting forces, established full control over al-Fawaera well south of the T4 airport.
SANA’s correspondent in Homs said that this came after concentrated operations that left scores of ISIS terrorists dead or injured, while the others fled towards the depths of the Badiya desert, adding that the operations also resulted in destroying a number of hideouts, heavy machinery, equipment, and weapons used by the terrorists.
The correspondent said that this new advancement should secure the T4 airport fully and prevent any potential terrorist attack on it.
Deir Ezzor
Army units, with cover provided by the Syrian Air Force, thwarted an attack by ISIS on Deir Ezzor Airport, killing scores of terrorists in the surroundings of Deir Ezzor city and its countryside.
SANA’s correspondent said that the Deir Ezzor Airport garrison, in cooperation with supporting forces, engaged in heavy clashes during the past few hours with terrorist groups from ISIs that attacked in the directions of the eastern barricade of the airport and the al-Jafra-Beit Daghim east of the airport.
He added that the clashes resulted in thwarting the attack, killing and injuring many ISIS terrorists while the remaining ones fled.
The correspondent said that the Air Force destroyed a base for ISIS near Saker gas station in Salhiyet Hatleh north of Deir Ezzor, killing 15 terrorists who were inside.
He went on to say that the Air Force also carried out airstrikes on ISIS bases, movements, and fortified positions in several areas in Deir Ezzor city including al-Tamwin roundabout, al-Kanamat, and the graveyards area, in addition to al-Tharda Mountain and the villages of al-Bghailiye, Maratt, and Khasham in the countryside, killing scores of terrorists and destroying a number of vehicles, some of them equipped with heavy machineguns.
On a relevant note, local sources from Deir Ezzor said that ISIS burned the bodies of many of its dead members in the graveyards area, and that most of the bodies belonged to foreign terrorists.
Quneitra
The Syrian army’s artillery targeted a Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist group in the area surrounding Tal al-Hamriya in the northern countryside of the southern Quneitra province.
SANA reporter in Quneitra said that army artillery shells were fired on a group of 8 al-Nusra terrorists while involved in vandalizing farms and citizens’ properties in al-Sendianat site in the area surrounding Tal al-Hamriya to the south of Hadar village.
The reporter added that all the members of the group were killed or injured and their arms and equipment were destroyed.
Dozens of Daesh terrorists killed by fires of Syrian Air Force in several areas
Provinces, 24/01/2017 ~ The army’s air force carried out concentrated raids on positions and movement axes of Daesh (ISIS, ISIL, IS) terrorists’ vehicles during the past 24 hours.
SANA reporter in Deir Ezzor said Tuesday that the air force destroyed ISIS terrorists’ positions and killed many of them in al-Maqaber area, al-Ummal neighborhood, al-Hattla village, the surrounding of battalion 137, al-Ma’amel area and the villages of Jdeidet al-Ukeidat and Khesham.
The reporter pointed out that the air force destroyed a convoy consisting of 7 vehicles for the terrorists on Palmyra-al-Shoula road in the western countryside of the Province, killing or injuring many of the terrorists.
On the other hand, the reporter said that the terrorists targeted residential neighborhoods in Deir Ezzor city with tens of mortar shells, injuring six people and causing huge material damage to houses.
Army units also destroyed three cars equipped with machine guns and killed a number of ISIS terrorists to the west of Tall Brouk, al-Tharda Mountain and Taim oil field in Deir Ezzor province.
The army units, backed by the air force, also carried out strikes against gatherings and movement axes of ISIS terrorists in several villages and areas at the Badiya area between the countryside of Damascus and Homs.
A military source told SANA that army units carried out artillery strikes in parallel to strikes of warplanes on gatherings and positions of ISIS terrorists Be’r al-Afai, Tal al-Dhabe’ al-Sharqi, Tal al-Dhabe’ al-Gharbi, Jabal al-Lasafa, Qalet Hawaia, al-Ramdan, al-Barda, to the south of Sawanet al-Samra, al-Mehassa road and al-Qariatain Dam in the northern part of Damascus Countryside and in the southeastern countryside of Homs.
The source pointed out that the strikes left tens of terrorists killed, in addition to destroying several tanks, armored vehicles and armored bases.
Meanwhile, a unit of the army targeted gatherings of ISIS terrorists south-east of the Fourth Station and Ber al-Fawa’ara in Tadmur countryside, destroying a pick-up equipped with a heavy machine gun and killing all terrorists onboard.
Syrian Army kills scores of ISIS and al-Nusra terrorists in Deir Ezzor and Homs
Provinces, 23/01/2017 ~ Army and Armed Forces units, supported by Syrian Air Force, achieved a new advance in their operations against ISIS in Deir Ezzor, killing scores of terrorists.
SANA’s reporter in Deir Ezzor said that an army unit, in cooperation with supporting forces, carried out during the past hours a special operation against ISIS gatherings in the graveyards area to the south of Deir Ezzor city, establishing control over a strategic hill that serves as a vantage point after inflicting heavy losses in ranks and equipment upon terrorists.
The reporter said that the army seized a PKC machinegun and a number of other weapons used by ISIS in the same area, adding that members of army’s engineering units dismantled a number of explosive devices that terrorists had planted earlier.
The reporter pointed out that army units eliminated members of terrorist groups who infiltrated near the Panorama area in the southern entrance of Deir Ezzor city, including one of their leader who was nicknamed Abu Yousef.
The reporter denied claims circulated on the terrorists’ social media pages about terrorists gaining control over the Panorama area.
The reporter also said that the Syrian Air Force destroyed a command position for ISIS in the area surrounding al-Bu-Awad Mosque in al-Mo-Hasan city in the eastern countryside of the province, killing 12 terrorists including Ragheb al-Arif, Salah al-Mahmoud al-Turki al-Salim, Abboud al-Aliwi, Ragheb Ahmad al-Hammad, and Badr Hamid al-Aliwi.
In Homs province, an army unit directed strikes on the fortifications and dens of Jabhat al-Nusra and other terrorist groups affiliated to it in al-Farhania and Um Sharshoh villages in the northern countryside of the province, according to a military source.
The source said that as a result of the strikes, a number of terrorists were killed, others were injured, and their fortified positions were destroyed.
Meanwhile, the army’s Air Force destroyed convoy of vehicles for ISIS terrorists in Kasaret Bahir east of al-Qalamoun in Damascus Countryside.
More Daesh and Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists killed in wide military operations in Deir Ezzor, Homs
Provinces, 22/01/2017 ~ Army units covered by fires of the Air Force destroyed on Sunday vehicles of Daesh (ISIS, ISIL, IS) terrorists and killed tens of them in Deir Ezzor Province.
SANA reporter in Deir Ezzor said that an army unit destroyed, in a directed missile, a tank that belongs to ISIS terrorists in al-Mohandiseen area at the surrounding of al-Tharda mountain to the south of the city, killing or injuring many of the terrorists.
The reporter pointed out that an army unit, backed by artillery, killed an ISIS terrorist group and destroyed a radio-controlled plane in al-Maqaber area.
Also, army units in cooperation with the supporting forces carried out concentrated operations against gatherings and positions of ISIS terrorists in the villages of al-Bogheilia and Ayash and the surrounding of Brigade 137, al-Taim Field and al-Hweiqa, killing dozens of the terrorists and destroying a number of their vehicles, some of which equipped with heavy machineguns.
The reporter said that a tank of the terrorists was destroyed in al-Ummal neighborhood and a vehicle equipped with a machinegun in coincidence with destroying an ammunition and explosives cache in al-Sheikh Yassin and al-Ummal neighborhoods by the Air Force.
Local sources in al-Quria village to the east of Deir Ezzor said that a leader of ISIS terrorists called Kaser Heddawi and one of his companions were killed near al-Bu-Awad Mosque.
Homs
Meanwhile, units of army killed a number of ISIS terrorists and destroyed 4 cars equipped with heavy machine guns in Ber al-Fawa’ara and Talet al-Awamed to the East of al-Qaryateen in Homs eastern countryside.
Earlier, an army unit killed all the members of an ISIS terrorist group in Tallet al-Marsad to the east of al- Qaryatain, located some 85 km southeast of Homs city, according to a military source.
Meanwhile in the northern countryside of Homs province, SANA reporter said the army fired artillery shells on hideouts and fortifications of Jabhat al-Nusra in the villages of Ezz Eddin and Um Sharshouh, 18 km north of Homs city.
A number of centers, a mortar launching pad and an SUV equipped with a machine gun were destroyed as a result of the operations.
The operations also resulted in killing a number of terrorists, including Abdul-Ghani Sweis, Mustafa Zakkour and Abdul-Baset Habaq.
Damascus countryside
The army’s air force destroyed dens and vehicles of ISIS terrorists east of al-Sin in Damascus countryside, killing several of the terrorists.
The Army’s air force also destroyed dens and vehicles of ISIS terrorists in Jwef near Raisha dam to the south-eastern side of Al-Sin in Damascus countryside, killing a number of the terrorists.
Army establishes control over al-Tayyas hill in T4 area in Homs countryside, advances in Deir Ezzor
Homs, 21/01/2017 ~ Army and Armed Forces units established control over the strategic hill of al-Tayyas in the T4 area in the eastern countryside of Homs province.
SANA’s correspondent said that army units, assisted by popular defense groups, established control over al-Tayyas hill northeast of the 4th station in the T4 area following violent clashes with ISIS terrorists, which resulted in killing and injuring many of the terrorists and destroying a large number of their vehicles and equipment.
Another army unit killed a number of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists and destroyed a vehicle for them in the northern countryside of Homs Province.
SANA’s correspondent said that an army unit shelled Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists’ gathering in Hawsh Hajjo area, about 25 km north of Homs city, killing 5 terrorists and destroying a machinegun-equipped SUV they had been using.
The source added that terrorists Abdel-Basit Swais and Abdel-Kafi al-Rasso were identified among the dead.
Deir Ezzor
Meanwhile, the army advanced into al-Maqaber region in Deir Ezzor city, inflicting heavy losses upon the ISIS terrorists.
SANA reporter said that army units, in cooperation with the backing Forces, carried out extensive operations, backed by Air force and artillery, targeting ISIS terrorists’ movements, advancing in new areas .
The reporter added that ISIS terrorists continued targeting al-Jora and al-Qsour neighborhoods with tens of shells, causing large material damage to houses.
