Syrian Arab Army restores security and stability to Souran town in Hama countryside, kills scores of mercenary-terrorists from Daesh (ISIS, ISIL, IS) and al-Nusra gangs, destroys their vehicles in different provinces
Hama
(17 April 2017) ~ A Syrian military source announced that security and stability were restored to the town of Souran and control was regained over the strategic hill of Bazam after inflicting heavy losses upon Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists in the personnel and equipment in the northern countryside of Hama central province.
The source told SANA that army units, in cooperation with the backing forces, carried out intensive operations against gatherings and fortifications of the terrorist organizations in the northern countryside.
The source added that security and stability were restored to Souran town and control was regained over Bazam hill and al-Qabban barrier at the eastern entrance of Taybet al-Imam City after killing scores of terrorists and destroying their arms and equipment.
The army engineering units are working on combing the area to dismantle the mines planted by terrorists at the entrances of the town and between the houses and in the surrounding areas, according to the source who confirmed that dozens of terrorists were also confirmed killed while others fled away towards the far northern countryside.
The source said that among the terrorists who were confirmed dead : Abu Qatada al-Sijri, Mohanad al-Abdullah Abu Mahmoud, Mohammad Yahia al-Shimali, Mouayad Knisawi, one of the commanders of the so-called “Jaish al-Ezza” Abu al-Bara al-Hamwi, Abu Salam al-Warraq, Abu al-Walid al-Masri, Khaled Rifa’at al-Bdaiwi, Mohammad Khairallah Anfalis, Abdul-Rahaman Mahamid, Mohammad Abdullah Hnaidi, Samir Bek Ajam, Abdullah Boshi, Abdul-Rahman al-Saraj, Mahmoud Erfan Nahhas, Nidaa Yusuf Kashtou, and Mohammad Rabi al-Dadou.
9 tanks, 4 BMP vehicles , 139 cars, 23 command centers and three ammunition caches were destroyed in the operations and 14 radio-controlled aircrafts were downed, in addition to seizing a tank, a large number of the mortar launchers, 6 machineguns and huge amounts of the individual weapons and ammunition.
Meanwhile, SANA’s correspondent in Hama said that an army unit, in cooperation with supporting forces, repelled an attack by terrorists from Jabhat al-Nusra on al-Satehiyat village in the western countryside of Salamiya area in Hama province.
The correspondent said that the army unit and supporting forces clashed at dawn with al-Nusra terrorists who attacked military positions in the surroundings al-Satehiyat village, and that the forces defending these positions managed to contain the attack and mount a counter-attack under support from artillery and the Syrian Air Force, recapturing all positions in the area after inflicting heavy losses in personnel and equipment upon the terrorists.
Quneitra
Meanwhile, units of the army thwarted an attack by terrorist groups on a number of military points in Quneitra northern countryside.
SANA reporter said that units of the army and popular defense groups carried out fierce clashes with terrorists that attacked a number of points in the surrounding of Khan Arnabeh.
The reporter added that the army foiled the attack, inflicting heavy losses upon the terrorists.
Deir Ezzor
Army units killed 14 terrorists and destroyed two machinegun-equipped vehicles in the western and eastern directions of Deir Ezzor City and in the surroundings of the Regiment 137.
Syrian Arab Army destroys one of Jabhat al-Nusra positions, kills and injures 10 terrorists in Daraa

(16 April 2017) ~ More than 10 of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists were killed or injured in operations carried out by the Syrian Arab army against their gatherings and fortifications in Daraa al-Balad area in Daraa southern province.
A military source told SANA that army units carried out a number of bombardments against fortifications of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists to the south of al-Manshieh neighborhood and in the surroundings of Katakit building, al-Masri roundabout and al-Sad Road and to the north of the building of Saida Carpets in Daraa al-Balad area.
The source added that more than 10 Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists were either killed or injured, in addition to destroying one of their positions, a vehicle, a mortar launcher and a rocket launcher.
Syrian Arab Army targets ISIS and al-Nusra terrorists in several areas, reestablishes control over strategic point in Deir Ezzor
Deir Ezzor
(15 April 2017) ~ Army units carried out special operations against gatherings of the ISIS terrorists on the southern outskirts of Deir Ezzor City.
SANA reporter in Deir Ezzor said that army units carried out intensive bombardments against gatherings and positions of the ISIS terrorists in al-Maqaber “cemeteries” area on the southern outskirts of the city.
The reporter added that a number of the ISIS gatherings and dens were destroyed in the bombardments and a number of terrorists were killed including one of their field commanders, terrorist Safwan Abdul-Wahhab Yasin.
Meanwhile, civil sources from the city of Mohassan in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor indicated that clashes erupted between the locals and the ISIS terrorists as a number of terrorists were killed and others were injured.
Later, a military source announced that Army and Armed Forces units reestablished control over a strategic point south of Dir Ezzor airport after eliminating the last gatherings of ISIS terrorists there.
The source told SANA that army units carried out special operations against ISIS terrorists’ gatherings and sites which resulted in reestablishing control over Faraj strategic point south of the airport.
Meanwhile in the northern countryside of Hama province, army units destroyed vehicles for terrorist groups affiliated to Jabhat al-Nusra terror organization.
A military source told SANA that army units and supporting forces operating in the northern countryside of Hama carried out during the past few hours concentrated operations against terrorists in the areas of Souran, Tibet al-Imam, Atshan, Tal Bazam, and Tal Skek.
The source said that the operations resulted in killing and injuring a number of terrorists and in destroying many of their vehicles.
In Homs, army units inflicted heavy losses in personnel and equipment on terrorists from ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra in the northern and eastern countryside of the province.
A military source said that army units and supporting forces shelled ISIS bases south of al-Abtar mountain, Salam Gharbi, al-Sultaniye, and Oum al-Reesh around 70 km east of Homs city, destroying several of the bases, killing and injuring a number of terrorists, and destroying their weapons and ammo.
In the province’s northern countryside, the source said that army units carried out concentrated operations targeting Jabhat al-Nusra bases and gatherings in al-Ameriye, Tal Abu al-Sanasel, and al-Sa’an al-Aswad south of Talbiseh, which resulted in destroying bases and fortified positions, killing and injuring many terrorists, and destroying their weapons.
Syrian Arab Army thwarts terrorists’ attack in Damascus Countryside, eliminates ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists in other areas
Damascus Countryside
(14 April 2017) ~ Army units thwarted an attack launched by Jabhat al-Nusra on one of the military points in the western part of Damascus Countryside.
A military source told SANA that terrorist groups affiliated to Jabhat al-Nusra on Friday attacked ,from the direction of Mogher al-Meer/ Dahar al-Aswad, a number of the military points on the axis of Sa’sa/Beit Jinn in the western part of Damascus Countryside.
The source added that army units operating in the area confronted the terrorist groups, leaving a number of them dead or injured while the rest fled away leaving behind all of their weaponry and equipment.
Hama
Army units carried out Friday intensive operations against movements of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists in the northern countryside of Hama.
A military source told SANA that the operations concentrated on the sites and infiltration axes of the terrorist groups in Souran, Tibet al-Imam, al-Boweida, north Maan, Tel Hweir, Hweir Valley, Tel Bazam, esat Morek, Hilfaya and al-Dahdouh, killing a large number of the terrorists, injuring others, and destroying machineguns-equipped armored vehicles .
Homs
The military source said that army units shelled gatherings and movement axes for ISIS terrorist organization in the area al-Zaitoun farms, Dohour al-Barsha, Rashid farm and the Peak of Ibn Arsan Mountain in the southeastern countryside of Homs.
The source said that a number of terrorists were killed, others were injured and their weapons and ammunition were destroyed.
Daraa
Army units clashed with terrorist groups affiliated to Jabhat al-Nusra in the neighborhoods of al-Sad Road and al-Nazihen in Daraa al-Balad area, the military source said.
The clashes resulted in the killing and the injuring of a number of terrorists in addition to the destruction of machinegun nests and vehicles equipped with different types of machineguns.
The source added that army units killed a number of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists in al-Naima town.
