Syrian Army expands control in al-maqaber area in Deir Ezzor, kills 11 Daesh terrorists

Syrian Arab Army and Armed Force Units achieved a new advancement in their continued operations against positions of Daesh (ISIS, ISIL, IS) mercenary-terrorists in the southern part of Deir Ezzor City.

SANA reporter in Deir Ezzor said that army units, in cooperation with the backing forces, established control over Talet Hassan and a number of the strategic points after engaging in fierce clashes with ISIS terrorists to the west of Liwa al-Tamin on the southern axis of the city.

The reporter confirmed that scores of ISIS terrorists were killed in the clashes including a field commander terrorist Abu Ayham al-Masri.

An army unit also carried out bombardments against the supply routes and positions of ISIS terrorists in the surroundings of Liwa al-Tamin, killing 11 terrorists and injuring others.

Meanwhile, army units, in cooperation with the popular defense groups, carried out a special operation against positions of ISIS terrorists in the western part of al-Maqaber “cemeteries” area achieving a notable advancement and inflicting heavy losses upon ISIS in the personnel and equipment.


Army units destroyed gatherings and two command and surveillance centers for Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists in Daraa al-Balad area.

A military source told SANA that the army units targeted with heavy strikes the gatherings and movements of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists in al-Naziheen and al-Abasiyeh neighborhoods and in al-Masri roundabout, killing and injuring large number of them.

The source added that the army units destroyed two command and surveillance centers for Jabhat al-Nusra in al-Karek neighborhood and a number of fortifications and machineguns’ barricades in the al-Bareed area in addition to a car carrying terrorists in the dam road neighborhood in Daraa al-Balad.

A number of Daesh (ISIS, ISIL, IS) mercenary-terrorists were killed and others were injured in intensive operations carried out by Army and Armed Forces units against their gatherings and infiltration axes in the surroundings of Deir Ezzor City.

SANA’s reporter in Deir Ezzor said that an army unit on Wednesday morning engaged in fierce clashes with ISIS-affiliated terrorist groups in the area of al-Maqaber (cemeteries) at the outskirts of Deir Ezzor city, killing 5 terrorists and injuring others.

The reporter added that army units carried out concentrated bombardments against gatherings of the ISIS terrorists in the surroundings of Deir Ezzor Military Airport, in the area of al-Tharda, in al-Maqaber, and in the surroundings of Regiment 137, destroying their vehicles and killing a number of them.

The reporter quoted civil sources as saying that fierce clashes erupted among ISIS terrorists in the surroundings of the Sciences Faculty and a number of Deir Ezzor neighborhoods, as scores of terrorists were killed and others were injured.

The source indicated that the self-proclaimed leaders of the ISIS terrorist organization kidnapped a number of the locals in Khsham town as a group of the ISIS fighters were killed in clashes with the locals in the area of the factories to the north of Deir Ezzor.


Units of army killed tens of terrorists; destroyed three tanks, BMP and 4 cannons, rocket-launcher and 6 vehicles equipped with machine guns in al-Sad road, al-Bahar and al-Abassiyah neighborhoods in Daraa al-Balad.


Army strengthened its positions in the northern countryside of Hama, killing or injuring hundreds of terrorists and destroying 29 vehicles, 3 ammunition depots and 3 tanks.
