The general, familiarly called “the General”, was a great fighter and patriot, always at the head of his soldiers, who would follow him to hell if necessary, in the fighting against the mercenary-terrorist gangs armed by USA-Israel and their puppets.
You will remain always in our hearts and in our minds, as an example of man and fighter. R.I.P.
Legendary Syrian Commander of 104th S.A.R.G Issam Zahreddein Killed in Deir Ezzor: R.I.P General
Fighting Daesh apes of the so-called Islamic state (ISIS, ISIL) for 3 years defending the years-long besieged city of Deir ezzor, Major General Issam Zahreddein martyred Wednesday.
The 56-year old veteran officer has been killed while Syrian Arab Army advancing against Daesh in Hawijah Sakr Island Southwest of the city, when a landmine struck his armored vehicle.
Commander of the 104th Airborne Brigade of the Republican Guards, General Zahreddein has managed to repel the most virulent Daesh attacks on Deir ezzor city, Deir ezzor Military Airbase, and Syrian Arab Army’s positions around, killing hundreds.
The video above is the last video with General Issam Zahreddein in Hawijah Sakr Island yesterday.
Syrian General Issam Zahreddin Killed in Deir Ezzur Battlefield
The English-language Lebanon-based AMN quoted a military source as saying that General Zahreddin was conducting a special operation at Saqr Island in Deir Ezzur, when his vehicle struck the land mine.
General Zahreddin was the commander of the elite 104th Airborne Brigade of the Republican Guard that fought off the ISIL for several years, while under siege and under-supplied.
The General was born in rural Sweida village of Tarba and was 56 years old at the time of his death.

The body of late Maj. Gen Issam Zahr Eddin was escorted to his final place in Sweida amidst popular and official participation.
Martyr Zahr Eddin was killed while performing his national duty to defend the homeland in Hawjit Saqar area to the east of Deir Ezzor city on Wednesday.
Representing President Bashar al-Assad, Minister of Presidential Affairs Mansour Azzam attended the funeral ceremony.
Azzam offered condolences over the martyrdom of Zahr Eddin to the Syrians and the martyr’s family.

Forces from the Syrian Arab Army battled the so-called Islamic state terror organisation mercenaries in the Huijat Saqr(Hwijt Saker) neighbourhood of Deir ezzor.
Syrian Arab Army’s troops crossed a distributary of the Euphrates River connecting Deir ezzor’s city centre and the Neighbourhood of Hwijt Saker.
Amongst the fighters was the Major General of the Syrian Republican Guard Issam Zahreddine.
Heavy fighting then commenced between Syrian Arab Army soldiers and Isis militants.
S.A.A BREAKS THROUGH ISIS DEFENSES ON SAKR ISLAND IN DEIR EZZOR
ISIS is putting up tough resistance at Sakr (Saqr) Island but is slowly buckling to the overwhelming firepower deployed by the Syrian Arab Army. Hezbollah’s media wing released footage of the Syrian Arab Army troops engaging entrenched Jihadists units on the embattled island, located across the river Southeast of Deir ezzor.
The video shows Syrian Arab Army’s Battle-tanks, Artillery, machine guns, and assault troops of the 4th Mechanized Division clearing the path and leading the way through ISIS-controlled points across Saqr island. Towards the end of the video, Airstrikes are even put on display Government forces are notably shown crossing the Euphrates River by boat at one point in the video suggesting reinforcements to be pouring into the area.
