(FNA) ~ The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) troops continued to march on the terrorists in the depth of Eastern Ghouta and drove a wedge between the Southern and Northern parts of Eastern Ghouta, military sources reported on Sunday.
The sources said that the SAA men deployed in the newly-freed town of Mesraba stormed terrorists’ strongholds in the depth of Eastern Ghouta and drove the terrorists out of the strategic Modira settlement.
They went on to say that the SAA men further reached the Vehicles Management Center in Harasta and managed to divide Eastern Ghouta into two parts.
The SAA has been significantly advancing against terrorists in Eastern Ghouta in the last two weeks and freed important regions, including Beit Sawa and Mesraba.
An official in Syria’s peace committee said earlier today that talks between the peace committee and representatives of militants are underway to pave the ground for the evacuation of almost 600 gunmen from Jisrin-al-Maliheh passageway in Eastern Ghouta.
The sources further said that the peace committee and Damascus government have taken logistic measures for evacuation of the gunmen.
In the meantime, the SAA managed to impose control over several regions, including Mesraba and managed to lay siege on Harasta and drove a wedge between Harasta and Douma.
