1) – Six long-range bombers took off from Russia and carried out successful airstrikes against Islamic State targets near the Syrian city of Palmyra, the Russian Defense Ministry has said.
“On August 8, 2016, six Tu-22M3 long-range bombers, coming from Russian territory, performed a concentrated airstrike with high-explosive ammunition against the facilities of Islamic State [IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL] in areas east and northwest of Palmyra, near the settlements of Es Sukhne and Arak,” the ministry said in a statement.
According to the ministry, a control center and large terrorist training camp were destroyed in the bombardment near Es Sukhne.
“In the area surrounding Palmyra and Arak, control centers, underground storage of ammunition and weaponry, three infantry fighting vehicles, 12 off-road vehicles with heavy machine guns and a large number of enemy personnel were destroyed,” the Defense Ministry said.
The Russian bombers successfully returned to base after executing their combat mission.

2) – Illegal incursion: 1st photo evidence allegedly appears of British presence in Syria
Photos purporting to depict British special forces operating on the Syria-Iraq border are believed to be the first photo evidence of UK troops on the ground in Syria. The pictures show heavily armed troops in patrol vehicles near a recent battle scene.
Obtained by the BBC and published on Monday, the photos show several UK patrol vehicles with troops perched atop them and several heavy-duty military trucks in a half-circle, which appear to be watching the perimeter.
The photos are believed to have been taken in June in the aftermath of an Islamic State (IS, ISIS/formerly ISIL) attack on the New Syrian Army, so-called “moderate” rebels, around the Al Tanaf base in Syria, which is on the Iraqi border.

Syria took a scathing swipe at Britain on Sunday over the British position on Syria and the latest statements made by its Foreign Secretary, condemning Britain’s “political hypocrisy”.

In two letters it addressed to the UN Secretary General and Chairman of the Security Council, Foreign and Expatriates Ministry dismissed the escalation in the “brazen” attitude of some British officials on the situation in Syria, including those of the Foreign Office.

The British government, they said, has no right to peach to others about democracy, human rights and combating terrorism when it itself has employed all its capabilities and brought into play its “colonialist experience” in providing all forms of support, including financially, militarily, politically and media-wise, to the terrorist organizations in Syria.

The fact that the British government has sent terrorists and extremists to Syria, such as its national “John, the ISIS Slaughterer”, and harbored over tens of years others like Abu Qatada and Omar Abdel-Rahman reveals Britain’s “political hypocrisy and the falseness of its claims about promoting democracy, fighting terrorism and protecting human rights,” according to the letters.

The British Parliament has been exposed trying to very quietly try and block legal challenges to their waging war on Syria.

The facts are the ‘Defence’ Secretary Michael Fallon dishonestly asserted off the Parliamentary record at the RUSI that he had legal grounds to use the false pretext of ‘surveillance’ to wage war in Syria without any vote, while the Tory & Labour MP’s David Davis and Tom Watson dishonestly portrayed their court order could stop legal challenges to ‘surveillance’ operations until the end of March 2016.

An area of Syria is so heavily populated with British-born Jihadi fighters that it has been nicknamed ‘Little London’, according to a former hostage and aid worker.

Ahmed Walid Rashidi, a Danish aid worker, was one of the lucky few to be released by the Islamic State after being held captive for a month. He told the Sunday Times that the majority of foreign fighters have British or German accents. The town of Manbij in northern Syria was like a “little London or a little Berlin”.

“Many of these areas inhabited with ISIS in the north of Syria have a large foreign population which has taken the original Syrians out of the picture and created a new society”, says Danni Maki. “There are up to 8,000 families who have moved from the West to Raqqa which has made a huge change on the dynamics on the area. It’s a reality in northern Syria unfortunately.

‘Little London’, the area claimed to be heavily populated with British Jihadis, is not far away from the border with Turkey, which according to Maki is why it is popular with European fighters. He says it’s no surprise the area is home to the majority of English speaking foreign Jihadis.

Even more dangerous is that 250 of these extremists have already returned.
