Assad, Putin meeting could mean end of Syrian war is close

Syrian President Bashar Assad met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the resort city of Sochi, Russia on Monday. The two leaders spent three hours discussing military operations in Syria and the fight against terrorism in the Middle East. Brian Becker of the anti-war ANSWER Coalition, tells RT America’s Anya Parampil that the meeting could signify that the six-year Syrian War is coming to a close.

President Bashar al-Assad, during a work visit he paid to Russia on Tuesday, held a summit meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Sochi City in presence of senior Russian political and military officials.
President Putin congratulated President al-Assad on the successes achieved by Syria in the framework of combating terrorism, and on approaching victory over terrorism by the Syrian people.

President al-Assad indicated that the victories achieved against terrorism led to the return of security to many areas and subsequently, citizens returned to them and the wheel of normal  life began to move again, in addition to pushing the political track forwards to find solution to the crisis in Syria.
President al-Assad conveyed thanks by the Syrian people to President Putin and the friendly and loyal Russian people for what Russia has done to protect the Syrians in face of terrorism, and to protect the unity of the Syrian territories, in addition to what the Russian institutions have done to support the Syrian people in all domains, particularly the military institution which has made a lot of sacrifices to protect the sovereignty and independence of Syria and its territorial integrity.

President Putin expressed Russia’s high appreciation for the readiness expressed by the Syrian Government and its openness on whoever wants peace and for the support provided by President al-Assad to Astana process in which the participants succeeded in establishing de-escalation zones and starting dialogue with all the Syrian parties… … …

In an interview with the French TV station LCP, former French minister for Foreign Affairs Roland Dumas said:

‘’ I’m going to tell you something. I was in England two years before the violence in Syria on other business. I met with top British officials, who confessed to me that they were preparing something in Syria. This was in Britain not in America. Britain was organizing an invasion of rebels into Syria. They even asked me, although I was no longer minister for foreign affairs, if I would like to participate. Naturally, I refused, I said I’m French, that doesn’t interest me.’’

Dumas went on give the audience a quick lesson on the real reason for the war that has now claimed the lives of tens of thousands of people.

‘’This operation goes way back. It was prepared, preconceived and planned… in the region it is important to know that this Syrian regime has a very anti-Israeli stance. Consequently, everything that moves in the region- and I have this from the former Israeli prime minister who told me ‘we’ll try to get on with our neighbours but those who don’t agree with us will be destroyed. It’s a type of politics, a view of history, why not after all. But one should know about it.’’

Dumas is a retired French foreign minister who is obliged to use discretion when revealing secrets which could affect French foreign policy. That is why he made the statement ‘I am French, that doesn’t interest me’. He could not reveal France’s role in the British plan as he would be exposing himself to prosecution for revealing state secrets… … …

Certainly we must thank the loyal allies for fighting with all Syrians a war against the mercenaries and military intelligence services from half the world, but remember that on the ground are the Syrian Arab Army and the Special Unit of Popular Forces that have made the strongest sacrifices, and along with Hezbollah and the Iranian Brigades have shed much blood of martyrs.

If Russia had not had on the battlefields a serious Syrian army, trained, motivated, professional, could not get, only from the sky, the results that were obtained.

Therefore, honor to the Russian ally for the high ethical character and proven vailability, but today all the glory goes to all the Syrian Armed Forces, with a special thought and undying gratitude to the young Syrians martyrs soldiers, who in their best years have given their lives for their beloved homeland Syria.

Finally, without the permanent presence of a charismatic leader, a President who gave the example of unshakable loyalty and patriotism to the extreme consequences, the Army would not have a guide to which to refer, and where to find trust and confidence, and all it would have been more difficult.

Therefore, today more than ever, long life and honor to our heroic President Bashar Hafez al-Assad and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

France, the United States and Britain have rejected the text of a Russian-drafted UN resolution aimed at putting an end to Turkey’s military actions and provocations in Syria.

French Ambassador to the UN Francois Delattre claimed Moscow’s backing of Syrian forces had led to a dangerous escalation in the war.

Meanwhile, US Ambassador to the UN Samantha Power said the draft would distract the world, adding Moscow should instead focus on implementing a UN resolution passed in December that endorsed an international road map for a Syria peace process.

Turkey has called for a joint ground operation in Syria, insisting it is the only way to stop the country’s five-year war.

This as the country stands accused of fuelling the war by supporting terrorist groups like Daesh and Nusra Front.

The turkish regime of Erdogan is a rogue state, which directly manages international terrorism, and who is allied with this rogue state is an accomplice, directly or indirectly, of the crimes committed by terrorist mercenary gangs of Daesh-ISIS, al-Nusra Front, … … …, which the Erdogan’s regime supports.

President Bashar al-Assad received on Saturday (14/11/2015) a French delegation, including a number of parliamentarians, intellectuals, and media men, headed by member of the French National Assembly Thierry Mariani.

President al-Assad affirmed that the terrorist attacks which targeted Paris couldn’t be separated from those that took place in Beirut, and what has been happening in Syria since 5 years and in other regions.

“We are ready to fight terrorism with whoever wants to really fight terrorism, and the French government is not serious yet,” he added.

“You cannot talk about intelligence cooperation without political cooperation. You cannot talk about intelligence cooperation in order to fight terrorism while at the same time your policies, the policies of the same government, are going in the direction of supporting terrorism. That’s what I meant by being serious.”
