Syrian army has intercepted missiles Israeli regime’s fighter jets fired towards a military position near the capital, Damascus.

In a statement carried by state media on Wednesday, the army said the Israeli aircraft used Lebanese airspace for the missile strikes.

Loud blasts were heard in Damascus at around 3:30 a.m. local time.

“Our air defense systems blocked them and destroyed most of them,” said the statement.

The latest attack on Syria came shortly after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu paid a rare visit to the occupied part of Syria’s Golan Heights and peered across the border.

In a letter sent to the UN Secretary General and Security Council President, the Ministry said that on 3:42 am on Wednesday in 7/2/2018, the Israeli occupation attacked once again the territory of the Syrian Arab Republic, as Israeli aircrafts fired missiles from the Lebanese airspace on an area in Damascus Countryside province.

The Ministry went on to say that the attack coincided with the attacks of armed terrorist organizations and the launching of more than 1,000 rockets and mortar rounds during the past few days on neighborhoods, suburbs, diplomatic missions, service facilities, and churches in Damascus and other cities, where dozens of civilians were killed and hundreds others were wounded, most of them women and children… … … … … … … … …

As ISIS’ self-proclaimed Caliphate collapsed in Syria, the Israeli military intensified their strikes on forces and facilities belonging to the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies. The goal of the effort is to weaken pro-government forces ahead of a possible new round of escalation in the region.

On December 4, warplanes allegedly from Israel conducted airstrikes on the Dumair Airbase. According to reports, the airstrikes hit the radar installation and destroyed it.

On December 5, Israeli warplanes launched missiles on the scientific research center in the area of Jumraya in northern Damascus. According to the Syrian state-run media, Syrian air defense systems intercepted three of the missiles. The rest of the missiles – 3 or 4 – hit the target.

The Tiger Forces and their allies have liberated 5 villages and 3 hills from ISIS in the province of Deir Ezzor.

Government troops have captured the villages of Khutaytah, Abbas, Mazra’at Shamr, Qit’ah, Mujawwadah, the Nusuriyah Mountain and the hills of Bani and Khinzir. The Tiger Forces also outflanked and stormed the ISIS-held village of Jalaa – one of the last ISIS strong points in the area.

The SAA and the Tiger Forces are now in only about 12km from reaching their counterparts in the area of al-Bukamal. The rapid advance of pro-government forces show that the ISIS defenses have de-facto collapsed in the Euphrates Valley.

Some of the military aid sent to the Syrian opposition by Qatar, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and the US may have ended up in the hands of Al-Qaeda-affiliated Al-Nusra terrorists, the Qatari foreign minister has admitted.

The revelations, which are the first of their kind to emerge, were contained in a statement by Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani, who served as Qatari foreign minister between 1992 and 2013.

When the conflict started in Syria back in 2011, Hamad bin Jassim said that he went straight to the late Saudi King Abdullah, who then supported Doha’s plan on Syria.

While Qatar is now being accused by the Gulf kingdoms of backing terrorism, Hamad bin Jassim insists that when the Syrian crisis broke out, Doha, Riyadh and Washington were “in one and the same trench” in their vision on supporting anti-Assad militants.

He made the comments during a television interview with Qatar TV in October.

According to the former minister, all aid destined for the Syrian rebels passed via Turkey and was coordinated with the US forces. 

“All aid distributed on Syrian territory was also coordinated by the US forces,” said Hamad bin Jassim who also served as Qatari prime minister between 2007 and 2013.

He did not specify who exactly was to receive the aid, but the US – together with Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Turkey – have repeatedly voiced their support for Syrian opposition and issued both humanitarian and military aid to anti-government militants… … …

Syrian Arab Army units, backed by the army air force, destroyed gatherings and positions of Daesh (ISIL, ISIS, Islamic State terrorist organization) in the surroundings of Deir Ezzor City.
A Syrian military source said to Syrian News Agency reporters that the army air force carried out concentrated strikes against gatherings and positions of the ISIS in Talet Alloush at the southern axis of the city, killing scores of terrorists and destroying their vehicles.
In Deir Ezzor a Syrian army unit killed all members of an ISIS-affiliated terrorist group after they tried to attack a military post in the area of al-Maqaber “cemeteries”.
The Syrian army air force carried out a series of airstrikes that targeted positions, gatherings and fortifications of the ISIS terrorists in the areas of Talet Brouk, al-Kanamat crossing, al-Maqaber and Talet Alloush, killing a number of terrorists and injuring others, in addition to destroying a number of their vehicles.

Homs

A unit of the Syrian army foiled an attack by ISIS terrorists and killed them in the surroundings of al-Sikhnieh in Palmyra countryside.
The Army Air Force killed large number of the ISIS terrorists and destroyed their vehicles to the southwest of al-Sikhnieh, and Khatamlou in the eastern countryside of Homs central province.

Hama 

The Syrian army air force destroyed gatherings and positions of the ISIS terrorists in the eastern countryside of Hama central province.
The Syrian army air force targeted positions and vehicles of the ISIS terrorists in the villages of Jana al-Albawi, Abu Janayia, Salba and Abu Hubailat in the eastern countryside.
A number of the ISIS terrorists were killed in the airstrikes and a number of their machinegun-equipped vehicles were destroyed.

Raqqa

The Syrian Army Air Force carried out intensive airstrikes against positions and gatherings of the ISIS terrorists in the southern countryside of Raqqa province.
A Syrian military source said that the army air force targeted positions of the ISIS terrorists in the villages of al-Khamsiyia, Salem al-Hamad, al-Numaisa, al-Jaber and in Ma’adan city in the southern countryside.

Syrian Arab Army units, backed by the Air Force, launched intensive strikes against positions and supply routes of Daesh (ISIL, IS, ISIS) mercenary-terrorists in the surroundings of Deir Ezzor city.
Syrian News Agency reporters said that the Air Force and Artillery of the Syrian army carried out on Thursday intensive strikes on ISIS terrorists’ gatherings and movements in the surroundings of al-Banorama area , the airport, Wadi al-Thurdeh, the graveyards, Huweijet Sakr, al-Mrei’iyeh, Tallet Alloush and al-Bugheiliyeh village in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, killing or injuring many of the terrorists, destroying fortified points, artillery emplacements for them and an car equipped with a machinegun.

A group of Deir Ezzor residents raised the Syrian flag at al-Halabiya roundabout, the northern entrance of Deir Ezzor city, according to local sources.

Local sources in al-Mayadin city in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor province confirmed that clashes erupted between two ISIS terrorist groups in al-Maharem neighborhood in the city, leaving four terrorists dead, including the ape Omar al-Najim al-Gharb.

The Syrian army has re-established control over several villages and towns in the course of its continued “successful” operations in the Syrian Badia, a military source announced on Wednesday.
Those areas are Huweijet Shanan, al-Rahbi, al-Sabkheh, al-Jebli, al-Rabieh, al-Ziabiyeh, al-Mastaha, Shumra and Islam and al-Jaraie oil wells in the southern countryside of Raqqa province, according to the source, who added that the area that came under the army’s control is almost 30 km along southern bank of the Euphrates River.
The operations, which started on the 14 of last month, have so far resulted in the death of large numbers of Daesh (ISIL, IS, ISIS) mercenary-terrorists, while hundreds of others were injured……………………….

The Syrian Air Force launched airstrikes against gatherings and fortifications of Daesh (ISIS, ISIL, IS) terrorist organization in the southern axis of Deir Ezzor city and its eastern countryside.

SANA’s reporter in Deir Ezzor said that the Syrian Air Force destroyed fortifications and sites for Daesh and killed a number of its terrorists in al-Panorama area, the area surrounding the 137 Brigade, and al-Maqaber (graveyards) area.

The reporter added that the Air Force carried out airstrikes against Daesh in the area surrounding Raqqa Bridge and Ayn Jomaa Police Station to the north of Deir Ezzor city and in the desert of Koniku Field, resulting in the destruction of terrorists’ fortifications, killing a number of them, and injuring others.

Syrian Arab Army units killed a number of terrorists from the Daesh (ISIS, ISIL, IS) and Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organizations in the countryside of Hama central province.

A military source said that an army unit clashed with an ISIS-affiliated terrorist group that infiltrated towards the road of Ethryia-al-Rasafa near the crossing of al-Zakiyia, 20 km to the east of Ethryia town in the eastern countryside.

The source added that the infiltration attempt was foiled and all members of the terrorist group were killed and their arms and equipment were seized.

The Syrian Air Force also destroyed gatherings and fortifications for ISIS in the area surrounding the Airport, al-Tharda, the neighborhoods of al-Sinaa, al-Arfi, al-Ardi and al-Hawiqa and the villages of al-Jafra and al-Junina.

Local sources in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor said that al- Mayadin city is witnessing new cases of escape among ISIS terrorists, including Abdul-Razak al-Amir, Ahmad al-Amir, Fahd al-Amir, Samer Khalaf al-Nasser al-Mashhadani, who are ISIS leaders in the village of Zeiban and the city of al-Mayadin.

The sources added that a group of people in the city of al-Mayadin attacked the media office of ISIS organization in the city and burned it completely…… ………. ……..

Hayat Tahrir al-Sham clashes with Ahrar al-Sham in Idlib Province

Syrian government forces have repelled a series of ISIS attacks in the countryside of Palmyra and continued their advance in the direction of Sukhna. An intense fighting is now ongoing in the mountain area overlooking the ISIS-held town. If it is taken by the army, the fate of Sukhna will be determined. ISIS is fiercely defending the town because its last ISIS major defense site on the Palmyra-Deir Ezzor road.

On Tuesday, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) attacked Aharar al-Sham in the province of Idlib. HTS stormed Ahrar al-Sham positions near the village of Hizareen and reportedly seized the village after series of firefights. At least two Ahrar al-Sham members, including a field commander, Yousef Al Fadl, were reportedly killed. Clashes also erupted in Maarat Numan and Jabal Zawiya. On Wednesday, firefights continued in the aforementioned areas as the both sides were deploying reinforcements in order to take an upper hand in the standoff. (…Read More…)

Syrian Army advancing on ISIS-held town of Sukhna

The Syrian Army Tiger Forces and Tribal forces captured the Deilla oil field south of the government-held town of Resafa in the province of Raqqah, according to pro-government sources.  The Tiger Forces and their allies are steadily clearing from ISIS key areas south of the Resafa-Ithriyah road.

Government forces are developing momentum in the direction of Sukhna northeast of Palmyra.  According to local sources, the army and its allies have captured new points en route to the ISIS-held town. (…Read More…)

Early July 2017 saw the release of photos showing a single BMPT-72 “Terminator” tank support combat vehicle in service with the Liva al-Quds Palestinian brigade serving with Syrian government forces.

So far there have been no indications the vehicle has seen combat use, and it also appears that the vehicle was sent to Syria mainly for combat evaluation rather than in response to any urgent tactical requirement.

The BMPT concept represents an answer to the need to provide a high volume of suppressive fire against enemy anti-tank guided weapons and static weapon emplacements such as machine-gun nests.

While modern infantry fighting vehicles are usually armed with automatic cannon which can fill that function, their inferior level of protection means they are hard-pressed to truly accompany tanks and are instead forced to provide overwatch fire with anti-tank guided missiles which limits their ability to use their cannon.

The missiles were launched from Russian Navy frigates, the Admiral Essen and the Admiral Grigorovich, as well as a submarine, the Krasnodar, from the Eastern Mediterranean, the Defense Ministry said in a Friday statement.

Daesh (ISIS, ISIL, IS) mercenary-terrorists perpetrated on Thursday a new massacre against the locals of Aqareb al-Safiyeh village, located some 17 km east of Salamiyeh city in the central province of Hama.

Groups of ISIS terrorists attacked in large numbers Aqareb al-Safiyeh village at dawn on Thursday, breaking into a number of the citizens’ houses on the southern outskirts of the village, before the Syrian army units and popular defense groups confronted the attackers and prevented them from reaching deeper into the village.

Syrian army units in cooperation with the popular defense groups clashed with ISIS-affiliated terrorist groups which tried to infiltrate from the southern direction of Aqareb al-Safiyeh village.

A number of terrorists were killed and others were injured in the clashes, while the rest fled towards al-Badia (desert).

Local sources said that the terrorist groups killed and mutilated a number of locals in the villages, including children and women, and looted their houses.

Head of Salamiyeh National Hospital Dr. Nofal Safar said that bodies of 52 person arrived at the hospital, including 15 bodies of children aged between 3 to 13 years, adding that more than 100 injured persons have been admitted to the hospital, most of them are children and women…………………

300 families who left their homes fleeing the terrorist organizations have returned back to Helfaya city in the northwestern countryside of Hama province.
Governor of Hama Mohammad al-Hazzouri told SANA that the families included 1500 persons, noting that their return back to Helfaya has come in the framework of implementing the reconciliation agreement reached recently to restore security and stability to the city, which is located 25 km northwest of Hama city.

In a relevant context, Hama Governorate has provided temporary residential places to 6 families from Jaabar village in the countryside of Raqqa who arrived in Hama on Monday fleeing ISIS terrorists.

Governor of Damascus Countryside Alaa Ibrahim inspected on Wednesday the services situation in Serghaya town and the implemented measures to settle the status of armed persons after the departure of terrorists from the town within the framework of continued local reconciliations in the western part of the province.
In a press statement during the visit, the Governor said the process of settling the legal status of about 700 persons from the town of Serghaya has been embarked on, noting that a large number of those persons will join the military service, while the others will return to their normal lives………………

Syrian army troops and National Defense Forces in a joint offensive drove Jeish al-Izzah terrorist group out of the positions that it had captured in the Northwestern Hama on Saturday.

Syrian government forces, backed up by the Syrian fighter jets and artillery units, struck Jeish al-Izzah’s positions and took back Shelwat checkpoint and the village of Abu Obeideh, killing at least 20 militants and destroying their arms and ammunition.

After the terrorists’ Saturday attack, a large number of popular forces, deployed in Ma’ardeh, were sent to al-Malah.

The terrorist group retreated from the battlefield to al-Latamina after sustaining heavy casualties.

The Syrian Air Force killed many terrorists and destroyed their vehicles in al-Rashidin neighborhood, to the east of Orum al-Sughra, Abu Shailem, Qabtan al-Jabal and Khan Touman in the countryside of Aleppo province.

A military source announced Sunday re-establishing control over the Air Defense Battalion in the southwestern countryside of Aleppo province after eliminating terrorist groups of the so-called “Jaish al-Fatah” that had earlier infiltrated the site.

Army units destroyed positions, mortars, armored vehicles and cars equipped with machine guns belonging to terrorists of “Al-Izza Gathering”, “Jaish al-Nassr” and Jabhat al-Nusra in Souran, Tal al-Naserriyeh, al-Latamina, Tibet al-Imam, Morek, al-Lahaya, al-Zallaqiat, Maarakba and Kafr Zita in the countryside of Hama, a military source said.

Units of army and armed forces, in cooperation with the supporting forces and backed by the air and artillery forces, thwarted ISIS terrorists’ attempt to attack a number of military posts and the villages of al-Taybeh, al-Mofakar al-Sharqi and Aqareb and some defensive points on the oil line in the eastern countryside of al-Salamiyeh city in the countryside of Hama province. Syrian Arab Army’s troops, with the active support of the Russian Air Force, are continuing their successful offensive in the north of Hama province, inflicting one defeat after another on foreign-backed jihadist-mercenaries.

The elite Tiger Force brigade has just taken control of Maardes, thus liberating another small town captured by U.S. supported ‘moderate-terrorists’ a few weeks ago. The army beat the bandits out after occupying several strategic heights and agricultural lands south and southeast of the city. This has been reported by the Tiger Force’s press service.

The offensive was successful largely thanks to the support of Russian and Syrian air forces, who launched massive airstrikes in addition to powerful artillery preparation by government troops. Terrorist gangs and their supply routes in the residential areas of Suran, Morek, Atshan, Suqayq, and Al-Latamina came under heavy fire.

On the night of Saturday-Sunday, army brigades began a massive offensive in northern Hama, attacking Maardes after the liberation of the all-Abbad countryside.

A military source said that armed groups breached the truce regime by firing several mortar rounds at al-Bahariya town and at Rahbet al-Ishara in the eastern Ghouta, firing six mortar rounds from Douma at the residential area of Harasta Suburb which injured 3 civilians, and opening fire with machineguns on Marj al-Sultan town.

A military source said that armed groups breached the truce regime by firing a rocket shell at al-Huwaiz, targeting al-Midan neighborhood with sniper fire, and firing explosive shells at the surroundings of al-Castello in Aleppo countryside.
