NABLUS – Israeli settlers on Saturday morning attacked a Palestinian home with firebombs and rocks in the West Bank village of Duma, little more than a week after an 18-month-old Palestinian toddler and his father were killed in a deadly attack in the same village.

Ghassan Daghlas, who monitors settler activities in the northern West Bank, told Ma’an that “a number of extremist settlers hurled two fire bombs at the home of Mahmoud Fazza al-Kaabna.

The attackers also hurled stones at the house, with one of them hitting al-Kaabna in the upper body.

The incident followed after another deadly attack in the same village on July 31 that killed 18-month-old Ali Dawabsha and critically wounded his parents and four-year-old brother.

2 US senators introduce a bill to congress that aims to give Jerusalem to Israel, and allow Israeli citizens to move anywhere in Jerusalem.

A new two-year term of the 114th congress started in the Unites States on Tuesday 6 January 2015, as Republicans take control of the House and the Senate. While everyone is paying attention to Russia and Ukraine or Iraq Syria and ISIS, a bill was introduced to this congress on 7 January 2015.

Although Senator Hellers facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/SenDeanHeller) seems to advertise everything he does, as does Senator Cruz (https://www.facebook.com/SenatorTedCruz), both fail to mention a word of this bill.

The Settlement Minister in the Palestinian Authority (PA), Ziad Abu Ein, died after a confrontation with Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) during a West Bank protest, witnesses and medics said. President Mahmoud Abbas called Abu Ein’s death a “brutal act”.

Ahmed Bitawi, the director of the Ramallah hospital, told AFP Abu Ein “was martyred after being beaten in the chest.”

Mahmoud Aloul, another leading member of the Fatah movement, told AP the incident occurred when he and Abu Ein joined dozens of protesters carrying olive tree saplings during a protest against land confiscations near the West Bank village of Turmus Aya.

Abu Ein was in charge of a Palestinian Authority department, whose work concerned Israeli settlements and the Israeli separation barrier. Previously, he served as deputy minister for prisoner affairs.

Abu Ein’s death follows violent overnight clashes near Shilo, an Israeli settlement in the northern West Bank located 28 miles (45km) north of Jerusalem.

Dozens of Israeli settlers have stormed into the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in East Jerusalem al-Quds amid rising violence at the holy site.

Sheikh Azzam al-Khatib, the director general of the Organization for Muslim Endowments and al-Aqsa Affairs, said the incident took place on Monday when “as many as 50 Jewish settlers forced their way into the al-Aqsa (Mosque) compound through the al-Magharbeh Gate under tight protection of the Israeli police.

Israel has tried over the past decades to change the demographic makeup of al-Quds by constructing illegal settlements, destroying historical sites and expelling the local Palestinian population.

The IOF troops (Israeli Occupation Forces, SFP note) did nothing to stop Israeli settlers from attacking Palestinian villagers, according to videos released by the Yesh Din rights group, showing soldiers pointing guns at Palestinians while Israelis are throwing stones from behind their backs.

In the three amateur videos released by the Yesh Din human rights group, the IOF soldiers appear to be protecting the masked Jewish settlers from Yitzhar during their confrontation with Palestinians in the village of Urif in the West Bankon Tuesday.
