Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem stressed that the Syrian government supports the memorandum on the creation of four de-escalation zones in Syria which was signed at the end of the fourth round of Astana talks on Syria.

“You followed up what was achieved at Astana 4, particularly with regard to signing a memorandum on establishing four de-escalation zones in Syria,” al-Moallem said in a press conference on Monday, adding “the Syrian Government supported what came in the memorandum based on its keenness on stopping the bloodshed and to improve the living conditions of the Syrian population and in the hope that all armed parties will be committed to the provisions of the memorandum. But if any violation takes place, the Syrian army will be prepared to respond in a decisive manner.”

On the possibility of Jabhat al-Nusra, which is not part of the memorandum, carrying out attacks, al-Moallem said that it’s natural for al-Nusra to be left out of the memo as it’s a terrorist organization, saying “the Syrian Government is not afraid of its right to respond for any violation of the memorandum of the de-escalation zones and it shoulders the guarantor states the first responsibility…we are confident that the Russian and the Iranian guarantors are performing their duty in implementing this memorandum.”

He added “I don’t exclude the possibility of violating the memorandum of the de-escalation areas by Turkey which is one of the guarantor states who signed the memorandum.”…………

Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem reaffirmed on Thursday that the Syrian Arab Army didn’t and will not use any kind of chemical weapons even against the terrorists who target the Syrian people.

In a press conference in Damascus, al-Moallem pointed out that the lie that the Syrian Army used this weapon came from countries known for always conspiring against Syria after terrorists have failed in their attacks and those countries have failed in their attempts to disrupt the political process.

“All of u learned about the statement of the Command of the Army and the Armed Forces and the statement of the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry that was sent to the UN Security Council and that sent to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and the statement of Deputy Permanent Representative in New York, and all of these statements stressed that our forces could have not used chemical weapons neither in the past nor in the present and neither could they use them in the future in any place, and we condemn such a criminal act,” al-Moallem said.

Al-Moallem reminded the press conference that Syria had already joined the OPCW and submitted successive statements on this subject and in mid-2016, the Organization confirmed the accuracy of the Syrian data provided.

He however questioned the timing of this “unfair campaign” against Syria, linking it to the fact that the past few weeks have witnessed active movement toward national reconciliations, terrorist attacks in Jobar and the northern countryside of Hama to which the Syrian Army responded and succeeded to restore all points and the absence of terrorists from the latest Astana meeting upon Turkey’s request with the aim to disrupt the results at Astana.

He also referred to the fact at the fifth round of Geneva, the “Riyadh delegation” had only one demand there, which is to take over power.

“When all these attempts failed, they came up with the lie of the army’s using chemical weapons in Khan Sheikhoun,” said al-Moallem……. …………… ……………..

…Les États européens prétendument « Amis du peuple syrien » lui ont imposé des sanctions économiques pesant lourdement sur sa vie quotidienne. Enfin, la libération d’Alep a dévoilé que l’Europe faisait partie de la conspiration étant donné que les armes saisies dans les entrepôts des quartiers est étaient de fabrication européenne. La Grande Bretagne, par l’intermédiaire de son ministre des Affaires étrangères, adopte malheureusement des positions démentes lorsqu’il s’agit de la situation syrienne. La France sera, à mon avis, l’une des premières à constater son échec et se retrouve avec un peuple insatisfait de la politique de Hollande, ce qui l’a amené à se retirer de la prochaine campagne présidentielle. Je fais partie des optimistes qui s’attendent à un changement radical de la politique française……

Voici le message reçu ce dimanche, 20 novembre, d’un ami d’Alep:

«Tuerie : Ce dimanche matin, comme chaque jour, pluie d’obus de mortiers tirés par les terroristes d’Alep-Est sur nos quartiers. MAIS aujourd’hui, ils ont atteint une école au quartier Forkane : 10 enfants tués et de très nombreux blessés. Les médias occidentaux vont-ils rapporter ce crime de guerre ? Les gouvernements vont-ils s’indigner et protester?

Depuis un an, les médias occidentaux diffusent des informations mensongères ou exagérées (ce qui revient au même) sur ce qui se passe à Alep-Est. Comme par exemple l’annonce de la destruction par les raids aériens du « dernier hôpital – the last hospital » d’Alep, annonce qui a été reprise chaque deux semaines, une dizaine de fois au total. C’est comme si ce «dernier hôpital» ressuscitait à chaque fois… Nabil. Antaki».

Que répondre à cette question ? Sinon qu’en effet, la veille de cette «tuerie», «The Guardian» s’est une fois de plus payé la tête de ses lecteurs en accusant le «régime» syrien et la Russie d’avoir détruit ce même dernier hôpital.

Et que penser de ce qu’a osé proposer l’envoyé spécial de l’ONU Staffan de Mistura, pour prétendument sauver cette ville meurtrie ?

Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem reaffirmed that it is the duty of the Syrian state to save the citizens from being taken hostages by terrorists in Aleppo city, stressing that the idea of “self-administration” in eastern Aleppo is categorically rejected because “it is a reward” for terrorists.

“It makes no sense at all to leave 275,000 of our fellow citizens remain hostages by five or six or seven thousand militants. No government in the world would allow that”, al-Moallem added.

“Syria gave three truce opportunities for evacuating the residents from the eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo, but terrorist organizations did not allow them to get out through the safe corridors, and they bombed the corridors with mortar shells and prevented civilians from leaving despite all the preparations carried out by Aleppo Governorate to secure them out safely”.

“We have no doubt that our armed forces will win the battle in Aleppo, and the decision of the leadership is to have the situation in Aleppo back to normal, and our families in the eastern neighborhoods would be released from those terrorists who take civilians as human shields,” al-Moallem affirmed…>>>…

Foreign Ministers of Syria, Russia and Iran held Friday a joint press conference after a tripartite meeting held in Moscow.

Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem described the atmosphere during the tripartite meeting as “positive” and “very comfortable ”.

“We in Syria have become convinced of the sincerity of the Russian and Iranian efforts in helping us rout terrorism,” al-Moallem said.

Al-Moallem added that he conveyed the Syrian leadership, government and people’s thanks to President Putin and the friendly people of Russia for the active contribution in fighting terrorism, and the thanks of President Bashar al-Assad and the Syrian people to the Iranian leadership and President Hassan Rouhani for standing by the Syrian army units in their war against terrorism.

He noted that those waging the propaganda against Russia today are the same who have been conspiring against Syria for five years, stressing that “we will not be discouraged by this propaganda targeting us from continuing the fight against terrorism, especially in Aleppo.”

For his part, the Russian Minister Sergey Lavrov noted that the armed terrorist groups have breached the humanitarian truce in Aleppo and other states failed to prevent these groups from continuing their operations and using civilians as humanitarian shields, indicating that Syria and Russia have halted their military operations against terrorists in the city and the Russian and Syrian warplanes have not flown closer than 10 kilometers to Aleppo for ten days.

”We hoped that humanitarian pauses and the stop of airstrikes will be used by our American partners to convince the so-called moderate opposition to separate from Jabhat al-Nusra and Jabhat Fatah al-Sham, which are in fact those who lead all groups of armed opposition in eastern Aleppo. Unfortunately, such a separation has not happened again. Moreover terrorists have closed the exit from the city via humanitarian corridors for civilians,” said Lavrov….>>>

Syria’s UN Representative Bashar al-Jaafari stressed that those behind shelling the humanitarian aid convoy of Aleppo are not the Syrian government but rather the terrorists and the Americans with their British and French allies.

“Everyone should have now realized that it is the Syrian government that is fighting terrorism, and that it doesn’t shell civilians as those living in Syria are Syrian people,” he affirmed.

He added that the US’s plan in Syria is to repeat “the worst scenarios” of what they have done in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and Nicaragua, citing a news report where a German journalist met a Jabhat al-Nusra leader who acknowledged that the terrorist organization has received heavy weaponry from Western countries.

n response to questions by the reporters, al-Jaafari said some UN officials are responsible for supporting the terrorists and for hindering the reconciliations in Syria, referring to a recent incident in al-Waer neighborhood in Homs where a member of the UN staff encouraged the gunmen to not drop and hand over their weapons.

President Bashar al-Assad received Thursday Chairman of the Iranian Shura Council’s Committee for Foreign Policy and National Security Dr. Alaeddin Boroujerdi and the accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the latest developments in Syria.

Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem said Saturday UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura has no right to talk about Syrian presidential elections, noting that the Syrian Arab Republic delegation will not wait in Geneva forever for other parties to decide to show up.

During a press conference, al-Moallem said the Syrian Arab Republic delegation received a letter from de Mistura scheduling Monday as a date for meeting at the UN HQ in Geneva within the Syrian-Syrian dialogue.

“Meeting with our delegation at first is a good thing,” he said, adding however that the Republic’s delegation “will not repeat the same mistake that happened in the previous round. They are going to wait for 24 hours only.”

“We will no longer accept that [de Mistura] gives up objectivity to please this or that party, and our delegation will reject any attempt to put this issue on the schedule,” he added.

The Syrian foreign minister has slammed the US for making a distinction between the armed Takfiri groups fighting against the Damascus government, saying there is no such thing as “moderate” militants in the Arab state.

The United States is supporting terrorists in Syria by providing them billions of dollars, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem said Monday.

At a meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in Moscow, Walid Muallem said: “Americans demand a political solution but at the same time allocate billions of dollars to support terrorists”.

Syria’s permanent Envoy to the UN Bashar al-Jaafari: “Saudi, Qatari, Jordanian and Turkish involvement in smuggling weapons and facilitating the infiltration of terrorists into Syria”.

“We, in Syria, combat terrorism on behalf of the whole humanity… whenever the Syrian army kills a foreign terrorist, it protects tens of innocents of those who might be potential victims of that terrorist when he returns to his country to practice his terrorism there,” al-Jaafari said.

President Bashar al-Assad said the Syrian and Armenian people face the same challenges and dangers.

The President’s remarks came during a meeting on Thursday with the visiting delegation of the Armenian-Syrian Friendship Association at the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, headed by the Association’s President Tachat Vardapetyan.

Drawing parallels between the dangers facing the people of Syria and Armenia, the President said the Ottomans who committed massacres against the Armenian people a hundred years ago are today, represented by Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his government, using the same tools, mainly terrorism, against the Syrian people.

Vardapetyan, for his part, stressed that the Armenian people stand by the side of the people of Syria in the face of the regionally-backed terrorist war waged on them, voicing confidence that Syria will get over this war and rout terrorism and its backers.

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad stressed on Sunday that Syria is keen to keep working to push forward Russia’s efforts for holding a second round of inter-Syrian talks in Moscow.

The Russian capital hosted on January 26-29 a round of talks that brought together representatives of the Syrian government and opposition figures and parties.

Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem stressed that Israel is an essential part of the conspiracy against Syria, noting that the government is commissioned to help make Moscow meeting a success.

Al-Moallem stressed in an interview with the Syrian al-Ikhbariya TV channel, aired Tuesday evening, that Israel seeks, through the US, to prolong the crisis in Syria as much as possible.

He dismissed Israel’s aggression in the southern province of Quneitra, which took place few days ago, as “transgression against the Syrian sovereignty and a brazen act of aggression against the Syrian territory.”

The Israeli aggression, he added, constituted a breach of the UN-monitored Disengagement Accord of 1974, and it is not a matter of wonder that the UN should have admitted observing Israeli drones in the Syrian sky.

“Is Israel stupid to have carried out this act of aggression while it knows that it will pay for it,” wondered al-Moallem, stressing that Israel is a fundamental part of the conspiracy targeting Syria.

The Israeli enemy, he clarified, has been using Jabat al-Nusra terrorist organization and other factions in southern Syria and has directly intervened to protect those from the Syrian Arab Army of the “popular resistance” countering them.

Sochi, RUSSIA, 29/11/2014 ~ Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem, said that the continued regional and international interference in Syrian affairs hinders the political solution and increases the violence of terrorism exercised on the Syrians.

In an interview with Russian RT Channel on Friday, al-Moallem added that Syria believes in and adheres to an inter-Syrian political solution away from any foreign meddling but the problem lies in the conspiracy of Syria’s neighbors, particularly Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan and others from outside the region.

On the vagueness of the alliance in countering terrorism and on its ambiguous intentions, al-Moallem said that we always suspect the U.S. intentions because if it were really sincere in countering terrorism it would have resorted to the Security Council to authorize it and it would not have excluded key states in the region such as Syria, which is combating the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria ISIS on the ground, Iran or Russia.

The Minister said that those who think that the air strikes will eliminate ISIS are mistaken for one simple reason: Turkey, the U.S. ally, does not abide by implementing the UNSC resolutions on counterterrorism, considering that training terrorists in Turkey is a recipe for prolonging the crisis and bloodshed in Syria… … …

Sochi, 27/11/2014 – Russian President Vladimir Putin met on Wednesday Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem in Sochi, Russia.

A statement by Kremlin said talks during the meeting dealt with Russian-Syrian relations.

Later, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov discussed with al-Moallem the bilateral relations between Syria and Russia.

Following talks, al-Moallem expressed satisfaction over the outcomes of his talks with President Putin and Minister Lavrov, announcing that President Putin affirmed Russia’s determination to cooperate with Syria and with President Bashar al-Assad in order to defeat terrorism and deepen the strategic partnership relations between both countries.
