Mass protest in Yemen condemns Saudi terror

Mass demonstration in the Yemeni capital Sana’a to mark one year of Saudi aggression.

The protesters are chanting slogans against the ruling Saudi regime, and its allies.

The demonstrators are carrying placards in condemnation of the international silence on the onslaught that began on March 26 last year.

The war has created a humanitarian catastrophe in Yemen and has wreaked havoc on critical infrastructure.

The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has extended for one year its sanctions against Yemen’s Ansarullah movement amid unabated Saudi aggression on the impoverished country.

The Security Council on Wednesday extended its sanctions on Ansarullah movement and the former president, Ali Abdullah Saleh, until February 26, 2017.

The UN Security Council passed a resolution last year targeting the Houthi Ansarullah movement in Yemen.

Two senior Ansarullah leaders, Abdul Khaliq al-Houthi and Abdullah Yahya al-Hakim were also blacklisted by the UNSC.

Yemen’s Ansarullah movement has called for a “general mobilization” against forces loyal to the fugitive President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi.

Some Persian Gulf Arab states, including Saudi Arabia, have already relocated their embassies from Sana’a to Aden.

Without doubt, the ‘Gulf’ decision to move the Yemeni talks from Sanaa to Riyadh was not made coincidentally. Riyadh is persistently continuing the confrontation reflected by its newspapers on a daily basis against what columnists call an ‘illegal coup’ in Sanaa.
