The final print edition of Britain’s “progressive”, “pro-democracy” newspaper “The Independent” has been published on March 26th, 2016.
It is worth remembering that with the launch of NATO’s genocidal wars on Libya and Syria in 2011, the long-discredited “anti-war” facade of “The Independent” had totally collapsed; despite the highly deceptive propaganda rhetoric of its gatekeeper “journalists” such as Robert Fisk.
The front pages of “The Independent” compiled below illustrate the more blatant strand of its 5-year-long virulent, appalling anti-Syria propaganda.

The UK government have published possibly the most hair-brained and contradictory mendacious pretext yet to try and invade Syria, by claiming it would be in ‘defense’ of errr…90km of Turkey’s southern border with Syria.
The UK have no military mandate to ‘protect’ Turkey’s southern border with Syria, let alone by illegally invading Syria, while pointedly not wanting to secure Europe’s external border with Turkey.
In practice all the military ‘manoeuvering’ and war propaganda in the US-led Genocidal war on Syria, has only ever been about trying to secure military ‘leverage’ in administrative elections in Syria.
The falsity of the US-led coalition was always obvious given the inclusion of the unelected likes of the Saudis & Qataris.
UPDATE:
The UK NATO war propaganda for the simple-minded that defies all logic and law has nevertheless had to admit that the Syrian army has advanced to protect it’s border from a NATO invasion by the US, UK & Turkey.
This is the very same allegedly all seeing big brother super-sized NATO that would have everyone believe it did not have a single helicopter in the air, to track an alleged errr…terrorist in a BMW in Brussels.

Syria took a scathing swipe at Britain on Sunday over the British position on Syria and the latest statements made by its Foreign Secretary, condemning Britain’s “political hypocrisy”.
In two letters it addressed to the UN Secretary General and Chairman of the Security Council, Foreign and Expatriates Ministry dismissed the escalation in the “brazen” attitude of some British officials on the situation in Syria, including those of the Foreign Office.
The British government, they said, has no right to peach to others about democracy, human rights and combating terrorism when it itself has employed all its capabilities and brought into play its “colonialist experience” in providing all forms of support, including financially, militarily, politically and media-wise, to the terrorist organizations in Syria.
The fact that the British government has sent terrorists and extremists to Syria, such as its national “John, the ISIS Slaughterer”, and harbored over tens of years others like Abu Qatada and Omar Abdel-Rahman reveals Britain’s “political hypocrisy and the falseness of its claims about promoting democracy, fighting terrorism and protecting human rights,” according to the letters.

NATO states could not conduct illegal wars without their bought and paid for corporate propagandists committing the criminal act of publishing war propaganda with the specific purpose of causing the murder of civilians for financial profit.
In fact what is not properly publicly declared is that many ‘journalists’ are actually employed by the British government through (zero) intelligence services, as a means to try and give the British government (il)legal cover by pretending they did not deliberately mislead the public themselves.

The British Parliament has been exposed trying to very quietly try and block legal challenges to their waging war on Syria.
The facts are the ‘Defence’ Secretary Michael Fallon dishonestly asserted off the Parliamentary record at the RUSI that he had legal grounds to use the false pretext of ‘surveillance’ to wage war in Syria without any vote, while the Tory & Labour MP’s David Davis and Tom Watson dishonestly portrayed their court order could stop legal challenges to ‘surveillance’ operations until the end of March 2016.
the entire apparatus of the british parliament and mainstream media are working together to try and avoid any legal challenge that can only expose the UK will never have any legal grounds to invade syria
Fallon, Davis and Watson were all acting on behalf of the entire British Parliament.
British ‘surveillance’ would realize they were rumbled with the three words…International Criminal Court.
Indeed why would any civilian wait for the British Parliament to go any further when no legal grounds of any kind have been produced for what is intended to be a British invasion of Syria?
So the war criminal Lord Ken MacDonald who Chairs ‘Reprieve’ (who really run interference over British government mercenaries like Begg, Belhaj & Co) then pretended today that Reprieve had filed an FOI request that ‘revealed’ the British government had already deployed the British military in Syria on bombing raids.
