President Bashar al-Assad performed on Monday the prayers of Eid al-Adha (Feast of the Sacrifice) at Saad Ibn Muaz Mosque in Daraya city in Damascus Countryside.

“We as state, by coming to this area, also send a message to those [sides] that the Syrian state is determined to retake every area from the terrorists and restore security and safety,” stressed the President, adding that the state is also resolved to reconstruct all that has been destroyed physically and on the human level.

“We come here today to replace the false freedom they tried to market at the beginning of the crisis, including about Daraya, with the real freedom; the freedom that starts with restoring security and safety, goes through reconstruction and ends with the independent national decision,” said President al-Assad.

He reiterated that the message is addressed especially from Daraya “since there are some who were annoyed that [Daraya] was brought back home and had issued official statements, and they are Western officials.”

He addressed those parties saying “You are sad and extremely distressed, whereas we are happy; firstly because Daraya is back, and secondly because you are sad and distressed,” adding that the when the conspirators reach a point where they are feeling distressed, “it means that things are going in the right direction”… … …

The battlefield developments continue to roll on in Syria with a great deal of ups and downs. In the outskirts of the capital city of Damascus and different areas around it very significant advances have been made by the Syrian army in past few days. In the frontline of Douma city in northeast of Damascus very fierce clashes were reported under way, and the fighter jets of the Syrian air force are heavily bombing the terrorist-held areas.

But beside clashes in different fronts in Syria, there have been progresses made without any fighting by the Syrian Arab Army.

For example, Daraya, a suburb of Damascus, is one of the areas that was liberated by the armed forces of Syria without any clashes […or at least nearly…note by SyrianPatriot] with the armed groups in control of the city.

The deal takes one of the most significant areas in Western Ghouta from the armed groups and so would cut off their connection with Khan al-Sheikh, Daraa outskirts, and Quneitra. Daraya offers a supply line and logistics line to the militants from Daraa and Quneitra outskirts to Western Ghouta, and is overlooking the Almaza airport and west of the capital.

Daraya fully evacuated of weapons and gunmen gangs

The second phase of the implementation of the agreement which was reached to evacuate Daraya city in western Ghouta of weapons and gunmen ended on Saturday in preparation for the return of locals to it.

The gunmen had set fire to many of their headquarters and positions inside Daraya before their departure, just like their fellow militants did yesterday.

The positions set ablaze contained computers and communication devices, proving that the gunmen had external affiliations, according to the reporter.

Tens of buses had entered the city earlier today to evacuate more people and gunmen.

Those buses transporting families have already left the city towards the makeshift centers, while others transporting gunmen and their family members have headed towards Idleb city, after being searched at army checkpoints as they cannot take any medium or heavy weapons with them.

The Syrian Air Force launched intensive strikes against gatherings of Daesh terrorists and their movements in the vicinity of al-Shaer oil field and in the areas east and southeast of Palmyra city in the countryside of Homs.

A military source confirmed that the strikes hit the targets, destroying several positions and a number of vehicles, some of which equipped with machineguns.

In the same context, a military field source said that a number of Daesh terrorists were killed in army operations in the surroundings of al-Abyad Mountain in the eastern countryside of Homs, noting that the Kuwaiti terrorist Aref al-Sweilem, an official within ISIS, was identified among the dead along with Marwan Abu Daghmash, the so-called military leader of al-Sukhna area.

Two tanks, a rocket launcher, five SUV cars equipped with machineguns and two oil tankers were destroyed in the operations, according to the source.

The Syrian warplanes targeted a number of positions and center points of terrorist groups in the Eastern province of Hama, killing dozens of militants and destroying their military hardware.

Syrian army jets, in a concerted action, attacked several terrorist positions in Kefr Zeita, some 39 kilometers Northwest of Hama, and regions around Hor Benafseh town.

The air raids claimed the lives of dozens of militants and left many more injured, inflicting heavy damage on the militants’ positions.

The Syrian air force also pounded military positions and gathering centers of the terrorists groups in the city of Balada al-Sarmaniya and the village of Qarqour, inflicting heavy losses on them.

The Syrian army extended its control over Darayya city in the Western Ghouta of Damascus countryside, punching the terrorists in a restricted area.

A field commander said that the army units carried out military operations in which they established control over an area 2 kilometers long and 800 meters wide to the South of Darayya city.

The Syrian army and popular forces made gains in several areas in the Northeastern countryside of Lattakia, purging them of terrorists.

The Syrian Army units, in cooperation with popular defense groups, purged the terrorists from Barza al-Tahtani village and Katef al-Zaitona, Daher Sando, Tal Ghweirat and Jabal Abu Ali regions in the Northeastern countryside of Lattakia, field sources said on Thursday.
