Idlib, Latakia and Homs are included in the safe zones, as well as parts of Aleppo.

Under the memorandum, any fighting between government forces and armed opposition will cease within the safe zones.

An official source at Foreign and Expatriates Ministry announced on Wednesday that in light of the Syrian Arab Republic’s commitment to preserve the lives of the Syrian people and stop the bloodshed, and based on its readiness to agree on all that would help the Syrian people return to their normal life as much as possible, activating and reinforcing the Syrian economy, and raising the living standard of citizens who suffered from the war imposed on Syria, and in line with its assertion on the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, the Syrian Arab republic supports the Russian initiative on the de-escalation zones and stresses commitment to the cessation of hostilities agreement signed on December 30th, 2016 including not shelling those regions.

In this regard, Syria affirms the continuation of the Syrian Arab army, the allied and backup forces in their war against terrorism and the fight against ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra and other affiliated terrorist organizations wherever they were all over the Syrian territories.

Russian Presidential Envoy for Astana talks Alexander Lavrentyev affirmed on Friday that the planned de-escalation zones in Syria will be closed to the US-led coalition’s aviation.

He stressed that the US-led coalition’s “actions in the de-escalation zones, starting from now those zones are closed for their flights.” He added that the flight ban was not part of the memorandum establishing the safe zones, but assured the coalition would not fly over them……………..

Mesdames et Messieurs,
Ces deux derniers jours, nous avons travaillé dur, jour et nuit, pour le succès de cette réunion et avons fait tout notre possible pour surmonter les obstacles. C’est pourquoi, nous croyons que la réunion d’Astana a réussi à atteindre « l’objectif de cessation des hostilités pour une période déterminée » qui ouvre au dialogue politique, en cours, entre Syriens.
À cette occasion, comme je l’ai déjà fait, nous remercions la Direction du Kazakhstan de toutes les facilités qu’elle nous a accordées pour le succès de nos réunions et de nos travaux.
Nous remercions, tout particulièrement, nos amis russes et iraniens pour les énormes efforts consentis, lesquels ont efficacement contribué à cette réussite. Et cela, dans le but de stopper l’effusion du sang syrien et de travailler avec ces groupes [armés] afin de vaincre, ensemble, le terrorisme et de reconstruire la Syrie.
Et nous disons aux États de la région connus pour leur soutien aux terroristes : c’est assez. Assez ! Fighting is escalating in northern Syria between Al-Qaeda-linked groups and mercenary-terrorists from other factions.

The first to attack were fighters from the foreign-backed jihadist-mercenaries of the Al-Nusra Front (now self-renamed ‘Fatah al-Sham Front’).

The mercenary-terrorist gangs have issued a statement saying that their attacks on other armed groups were to prevent a ‘conspiracy’ against them.

On Sunday, a meeting between the delegation of the Syrian Arab Republic, headed by UN-diplomat Bashar al-Jaafari, and Russian delegation, headed by Alexander Lavrentiev has started.

Kazakh Foreign Minister Kairat Abdrakhmanov said that Astana meeting is considered part of the general efforts exerted for solving the crisis in Syria.

He added that the atmosphere ahead of Astana meeting tomorrow is very positive, pointing out that the preparations are concentrated for convening the meeting.

Head of the Syrian Arab Republic delegation to Astana meeting, Bashar al-Jaafari said the meeting will focus mainly on firmly establishing lines of the cessation of hostilities and separating the terrorist organizations of ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra from other armed groups that joined the cessation of hostilities.

“There is a schedule and an agenda for the meeting with its major aim focused on a set of points, which are firmly establishing the lines of the cessation of hostilities, separating terrorist groups such as ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra from other groups that have agreed to the cessation of hostilities or those who agreed to go to [Astana] meeting and reaching common denominators regarding the fight against terrorism,” said al-Jaafari.

“Turkey is a state that has been violating the Syrian sovereignty, providing assistance to the terrorist groups and impeding the peaceful solution. As for us, there is no Syrian-Turkish dialogue at the government level,” said al-Jaafari……………..

L’accord tripartite conclu entre la Russie, l’Iran et la Turquie ayant abouti au plan de cessation des hostilités garanti par la Russie et la Turquie, entré en vigueur le 29 décembre 2016 à minuit, adopté à l’unanimité par le Conseil de sécurité sous la résolution 2336 du 31 décembre, n’a pas empêché l’escalade des attaques terroristes sur l’ensemble du territoire syrien. Comme si chacun des pays souteneur de la guerre « sur » la Syrie, par le biais du terrorisme international, tenait à rappeler qu’il réclamait sa place à la table des négociations et, surtout, sa part du butin avant la prochaine réunion à Astana fixée au 23 janvier.

Certes, les Nations Unies ont fini par parler de « crime de guerre » commis par on-ne-sait-qui comme l’a prétendu M. Jan Egeland, chef du groupe de travail de l’ONU sur l’aide humanitaire en Syrie, devant plus de 5,5 millions d’âmes privées d’eau à Damas, 6 millions disent certains, du fait de l’afflux des déplacés vers la capitale, plus sûre.

Bientôt six ans de destructions, de malheurs, de froid, d’obscurité, de déchirures, de sanctions, dans pratiquement toutes les régions du pays et on-ne-sait-qui commet des crimes de guerre, malgré les preuves qui s’accumulent. En revanche, nul besoin de preuves pour accuser le gouvernement syrien, quand ce n’est pas la Russie, le Hezbollah, l’Iran ou l’Armée syrienne qui tue les siens?

Une armée syrienne que l’administration US sortante s’est empressée de classer, ce 12 janvier, sur la liste noire de l’OFAC [Office of Foreign Assets Control] pour utilisation d’armes chimiques, toujours sans preuves, sinon le monde entier le saurait, avec des sanctions ministérielles à la pelle portant sur 18 officiers supérieurs, dont le Colonel Souheil Hassan al-Hassan [1], héros national surnommé le « Tigre » par le peuple syrien, et les agences des Forces de l’air, des Forces de défense aérienne, de l’Armée syrienne, des Forces navales et de la Garde républicaine!

Ceci, alors que les chefs de groupes terroristes armés, tels Ahrar al-Cham, Jaïch al-Islam, Harakat Nour al-Din al-Zenki, Brigade Sultan Mourad, etc. se préparent à se diriger vers Astana……………………..

Presidential political and Media adviser Bouthaina Shaaban affirmed on Thursday that the US didn’t meet its obligations towards the agreement with Russia on Syria, adding “Washington has not separated between the so-called “moderate opposition” and the terrorists.

“Russia is the only side which behaves with big responsibility to make the cessation of hostilities agreement successful,” Shaaban told RT English in an interview.

She added that the Syrian government has agreed the cessation of hostilities agreement and has committed to it, but terrorists didn’t.

“The Americans have no desire to see the Syrian army liberates the cities from the terrorists, and whenever a region is liberated, they utter hostile statements against Syria and the Syrian army,” Shaaban said.

She added that the Qatari and Saudi regimes fund terrorism and they don’t want the war in Syria to end.

A senior al-Nusra Front commander [Abu Al Ezz] told journalist Jürgen Todenhöfer that the group, considered to be terrorist by the United States, Russia, as well as the United Nations, has received weapons, particularly the BGM-71 TOW anti-tank missiles, from the US, German weekly news magazine Focus reported.

“The missiles were handed over directly to us. Americans are on our side,” the media outlet quoted the militant commander as saying. The remarks came in response to Jürgen Todenhöfer’s question whether any intermediaries, including the US-backed Free Syrian Army, were involved in the weapons transfers.

Al-Nusra Front was founded as al-Qaeda’s offshoot in Syria, but has recently cut ties with the global terrorist network, changing its name to Jabhat Fateh al-Sham (the Front for the Conquest of the Levant). Experts have said that the rebranding has not affected the group’s goals or the means of achieving them.

INTERESTINGLY: the al-Nusra Front commander also mentioned the UN aid convoy.

Keep in mind that Todenhöfer, the first Western journalist to be granted access to Daesh’s caliphate, conducted the interview ten day ago, before the attack.

The commander said that the militants would not allow UN trucks carrying aid to enter Aleppo if the Syrian Arab Army does not withdraw “as required”.

“The regime must withdraw from all areas in order for us to let the trucks in. If a truck drives in anyway, we will arrest the driver”, he detailed… … …

Presidential Political and Media Advisor Dr. Bouthaina Shaaban said that the aggression of the US warplanes on the Syrian Arab Army positions in Deir Ezzor was preplanned.

In an interview given to RT, Shaaban described the allegations of the US ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power that the attack was “an error” is untrue, noting that the US aircrafts did not bomb ISIS terrorists after they had control over the position and this does not refer to an error by the US aircrafts.

She added that the US-led coalition has not been targeting the ISIS positions before the arrival of the Russian aircrafts.

In the same context, Shaaban told AFP via telephone that all the scenes and facts on the ground do not refer to an error or a coincidence, but they show that everything was preplanned.

Syria’s Permanent Representative at the UN Bashar al-Jaafari stressed that the governments of Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, the USA, France, and Britain are involved in supporting terrorism in Syria and act as if they are unconcerned with the UN Security Council’s resolutions related to combating terrorism, while the Israeli occupation provides blatant support to Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists in the south.

In an interview with Al Mayadeen TV channel on the sidelines of activities of the 17th Non-Aligned Movement Summit held in Margarita, Venezuela, al-Jaafari said that Israel hosts Jabhat al-Nusra, Liwa shuhada al-Yarmouk, Jund al-Aqsa, and all the terrorists being trained in Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Israel itself, pointing out that the Israeli occupation treats the injured terrorists in its hospitals with Qatari funding.

Al-Jaafari clarified that the Syrian state has sent hundreds of complaints to the UN Secretary-General and the Security Council on the exercises of the Israeli entity in the occupied Syrian Golan and its full involvement in the battles in the southern front to the, and that it also sends documents on daily basis to the Department of Peacekeeping Operations.

He noted that there would be no solution to the issue of separating the moderate opposition and the terrorist organizations as long as there is a US desire to hide the terrorists and cover for them by labeling them as “moderate opposition.”

1) – Six long-range bombers took off from Russia and carried out successful airstrikes against Islamic State targets near the Syrian city of Palmyra, the Russian Defense Ministry has said.
“On August 8, 2016, six Tu-22M3 long-range bombers, coming from Russian territory, performed a concentrated airstrike with high-explosive ammunition against the facilities of Islamic State [IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL] in areas east and northwest of Palmyra, near the settlements of Es Sukhne and Arak,” the ministry said in a statement.
According to the ministry, a control center and large terrorist training camp were destroyed in the bombardment near Es Sukhne.
“In the area surrounding Palmyra and Arak, control centers, underground storage of ammunition and weaponry, three infantry fighting vehicles, 12 off-road vehicles with heavy machine guns and a large number of enemy personnel were destroyed,” the Defense Ministry said.
The Russian bombers successfully returned to base after executing their combat mission.

2) – Illegal incursion: 1st photo evidence allegedly appears of British presence in Syria
Photos purporting to depict British special forces operating on the Syria-Iraq border are believed to be the first photo evidence of UK troops on the ground in Syria. The pictures show heavily armed troops in patrol vehicles near a recent battle scene.
Obtained by the BBC and published on Monday, the photos show several UK patrol vehicles with troops perched atop them and several heavy-duty military trucks in a half-circle, which appear to be watching the perimeter.
The photos are believed to have been taken in June in the aftermath of an Islamic State (IS, ISIS/formerly ISIL) attack on the New Syrian Army, so-called “moderate” rebels, around the Al Tanaf base in Syria, which is on the Iraqi border.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called upon the Western media to be courageous and to break the silence regarding the crimes of the so-called “moderate opposition” in Syria and the human casualties due to the strikes carried out by the alleged US-led “international alliance” against the ISIS terrorists.

Russia Today website quoted Zakharova as saying on her Twitter account on Thursday that the US-backed Nour al-Din al-Zenki Movement have faced many charges on committing massacres against the civilians including women and children in the neighborhoods of Aleppo.

Last month terrorists from Nour al-Din al-Zenki Movement, who are backed by Erdogan regime, slaughtered a 12-year-old Palestinian child named Abdullah Issa in Handarat Camp in the northern countryside of Aleppo and they mutilated his body.

Zakharova indicated that the air force of the US-led “international alliance” is carrying out airstrikes against inhabited areas inside Manbij City in Aleppo countryside and that it has carried out more than 90 strikes against the neighborhoods of the city since July 19th, killing hundreds of the civilians and injuring thousands.

What Russia is bombing in actuality is an al-Qaeda, extremist dominated opposition embedded with CIA-backed ‘rebels’ operating under their control.

The not-so-moderates only operate under license from, and in support of, the Salafi jihadists, openly expressing their solidarity with them, labelling them as ‘brothers’, and begging the U.N. to protect them.

Due to porous links between Free Syrian Army, other Islamist groups like al-Nusra and Ahrar al-Sham, and ISIS, there have been prolific weapons transfers from ‘moderate’ to Islamist militant groups”.

Several rebel groups, 5 of which belong to the FSA, have recently united under the leadership of the former emir of the al-Qaeda-linked Ahrar al-Sham.

A longtime al-Qaeda member who sits on al-Nusra’s elite council explained that:
“The Free Syrian Army groups said they were ready for anything according to the Islamic sharia and that we are delegated to apply the rulings of the sharia on them”, essentially meaning that the FSA had subordinated themselves to al-Qaeda.

It has been further revealed that all of the Syrian groups operative in Aleppo had recently declared Ba’yaa (loyalty) to the Ahrar al-Sham emir Abu Jaber.

US officials still continue to maintain that Russia’s bombing campaign in Syria, launched last fall, has infuriated the CIA in particular because the strikes have aggressively targeted relatively moderate rebels it has backed with military supplies, including antitank missiles.

The Saudi plan to send ground troops into Syria appears to be just a ruse. But this is precisely the kind of reckless saber-rattling that could ignite an all-out war, one that could embroil the United States and Russia.

Saudi rulers have reportedly amassed a 150,000-strong army to invade Syria on the alleged pretext “to fight against terrorism” and to defeat the so-called Islamic State (also known as ISIS/ISIL). Saudi officials told CNN that in addition to Saudi troops there are ground forces from Egypt, Turkey, Sudan, Morocco, Jordan, Qatar, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates.

Syria’s Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem gave a categorical response, saying the move would be seen as an act of aggression and that any invasion force regardless of its stated reasons for entering Syria will be sent back in “wooden coffins”… … …

(Finian Cunningham) ~ Syrian state forces have every right to extirpate all illegally armed groups on the sovereign territory of Syria. While the Geneva negotiations were in process, the main foreign conduits of military supply to the mercenaries –Turkey and Saudi Arabia –had not desisted from their illegal interference in Syria. That was in flagrant violation of the United Nations Security Council resolutions in November and December calling for a global clampdown on terrorist organizations.

Not only were Turkey and Saudi Arabia continuing to supply illegally armed groups inside Syria, these two Western allies had included terrorist organizations into the so-called “opposition”at the Geneva talks. The grandly named High Negotiating Committee demanded it would only continue participating on the condition that the Assad government eventually stands down. That’s the real, proximate reason for breakdown, no matter what John Kerry might say.

Can you believe it? A bunch of foreign-backed and exiled-based terrorists dictating terms to the elected government of Syria. Their foot-soldiers are getting wiped out on the ground –after five years of inflicting destruction on Syria –and yet these impostors are attempting to write the “peace terms”… … …

A series of blasts have struck the outskirts of Syria’s capital, Damascus.
At least 45 people (50, updated a few minutes ago), were killed in the mainly Shiite neighbourhood, Syria’s Interior Ministry reported. The Islamic State terrorist group has taken responsibility for the attacks.

Death toll from three terrorist bombings that rocked l-Sayyeda Zainab town in Damascus Countryside earlier on Sunday has climbed to 45 (50, updated a few minutes ago), a source at the Interior Ministry said.

The source earlier put the number of people killed in the attacks at 30, in addition to 110 injured, some of them were reported to be in critical condition.

The attacks, which hit in Koua Soudan area, were caused by a car bomb and two explosive belts, according to the source.

Terrorists detonated the car bomb at the bus station in Koua Soudan area, and after people gathered to help the injured, two suicide bombers with explosive belts blew themselves up at the site.

The aim of such terrorist and “cowardly” crimes is to raise the morale of the defeated terrorist organizations in light of the great victories made by the Syrian Arab Army in different areas.

Such terrorist crimes will not deter the Syrians from continuing the process of national reconciliation in different areas, particularly in Damascus countryside.

Terrorism-supporting states (Saudi, Turkey, Qatar, USA, UK, NATO countries) are responsible for these terrorist crimes.

The US State Department has admitted that some of the so-called moderate rebels in Syria have been successfully recruited by the al-Nusra Front, an Al-Qaeda affiliate, which is being targeted by Russia’s air campaign in Syria.

The information came from US Assistant Secretary for Near Eastern Affairs Anne Patterson, giving testimony in front of lawmakers.

“The Nusra Front, which is an al-Qaeda affiliate, has absorbed a number of what we would previously call the moderate opposition,” Patterson told the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

However, the revelations had very little impact on US President Barack Obama’s plans in Syria, as Washington continues to criticize the Russian air strikes and is planning to send around 50 special operatives to Syria to train and assist the “moderate rebels”.

The move to send American military advisors to Syria completely contradicts what the US President Barack Obama promised just over two years ago: “I will not put American boots on the ground in Syria,” he said during a televised national address on September 10, 2013.

Some critics have spoken out, labeling the US move as unlawful.

“There is not legal authorization for troops to go into Syria without permission. This is illegal. Congress has not been consulted or asked and they have not approved it. So the president is acting out of bounds,” retired US Air Force lieutenant Karen Kwiatkowski told RT.

“Clearly, [the US] strategy of working with what we considered to be moderate rebels was wrong. And it is going to be put to an end I think. People in Washington have an imagination about how the mIddle East works that is really not related to reality at all,” Kwiatkowski added.

Interestingly, Wardeh has made prior propaganda videos, one of which, a 2 minute animation (‘War on famous canvas’) for which he was (translated from French), “one of three winners of the competition “Made in Med,” organized by Euromed Audiovisual, an EU program.”

An EU program. Of course, the EU has no interest in destabilizing Syria, right?!

Over the past five years, the increasingly ridiculous propaganda against President al-Assad and the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has ranged from the scripted (OTPOR fomented -“revolution“) “peaceful protesters under fire” rhetoric, to other deceitful lexicon like “civil war,” and “moderate rebels.”

As the intervention campaigns continue with new terrorist and “humanitarian” actors (literally) constantly emerging in the NATO-alliance’s theatre of death squads, it is worth reviewing some of the important points regarding the war on Syria.

On March 29, 2011 (less than two weeks into the fantasy “revolution”) over 6 million people across Syria took to the streets in support of President al-Assad. In June, a reported hundreds of thousands marched in Damascus in support of the president, with a 2.3 km long Syrian flag. In November, 2011 (9 months into the chaos), masses again held demonstrations supporting President al-Assad, notably in Homs (the so-called “capital of the ‘revolution’”), Dara’a (the so-called “birthplace of the ‘revolution’”), Deir ez-Zour, Raqqa, Latakia, and Damascus.

Mass demonstrations like this have occurred repeatedly since, including in March 2012, in May 2014 in the lead-up to Presidential elections, and in June 2015, to note just some of the larger rallies.

In May 2013, it was reported that even NATO recognized the Syrian president’s increased popularity. “The data, relayed to NATO over the last month, asserted that 70 percent of Syrians support” the Assad government. At present, the number is now at least 80 percent.

The most telling barometer of Assad’s support base was the Presidential elections in June 2014, which saw 74 percent (11.6 million) of 15.8 million registered Syrian voters vote, with President al-Assad winning 88 percent of the votes. The lengths Syrians outside of Syria went to in order to vote included flooding the Syrian embassy in Beirut for two full days (and walking several kilometres to get there) and flying from countries with closed Syrian embassies to Damascus airport simply to cast their votes. Within Syria, Syrians braved terrorist mortars and rockets designed to keep them from voting; 151 shells were fired on Damascus alone, killing 5 and maiming 33 Syrians.

Are you ready for a big surprise? Another Soros-connected pro-terrorist NGO in Syria has been caught red-handed faking evidence of “crimes against humanity” allegedly committed by forces who stand in opposition to the goals of the NATO/U.S. ruling elite.

OK, well, maybe it is not a big surprise. In fact, it is not a surprise at all given that, ever since the Syrian crisis began (and in the time leading up to the crisis), NGOs have been on the ground in Syria stirring up jihadist resentment against the secular government of Bashar al-Assad and fabricating “crimes” committed by that government.

The only new development here is that the NGO, Soros-connected “White Helmets,” are claiming that the Russians are the humanitarian criminals.

White Helmets demonizes the Assad government and encourages direct foreign intervention.

Rick Sterling of the Dissident Voice said that: “Civilians from rebel controlled territory were paid to go to Turkey to receive some training in rescue operations. The program was managed by James Le Mesurier, a former British soldier and private contractor whose company is based in Dubai”.

Activist and freelancer Vanesse Beeley said that: “The White Helmets work mainly with the rebel group Jabat al Nusra (al-Qaeda in Syria). There are videos of the recent supposed chlorine gas attack which starts with the White Helmet logo and ends with the logo of Nusra. In reality, White Helmets is a small rescue team for Nusra/al-Qaeda”.

Wait! You’re bombing the wrong terrorists!

The US couldn’t find any “moderate” rebels in 3 years.Apparently the Russians did within 24 hours!

The anti-Putin, Russophobe whine-fest is about to reach a new peak of absurdity as the US accuses Russia of bombing the moderate Syrian rebels instead of ISIS – the problem is that there has never been a “moderate” opposition in Syria distinguishable from ISIS.

This is why more than a year of American “attacks” on ISIS have yielded no results. The US has been supporting and funding the “moderate” opposition to Assad while supposedly attacking ISIS, only to find that our own weapons end up in the hands of ISIS! And now, Russia is going after all of them, whatever they may call themselves: ISIS, ISIL, IS, Nusra, al Qaeda, the moderate Syrian rebels, the Free Syria Army, the moderate Syrian ISIS terrorists…

So now, the message Russia is getting from Washington is: stop bombing the Nusra branch of al Qaeda and bomb the ISIS branch of al Qaeda! But since they all work together to overthrow President Assad, they are all on the same side and completely indistinguishable from each other.

The US government and military-industrial complex are furious at Vladimir Putin for coming to the UNGA in New York and trolling everyone by offering to help America in the fight against ISIS, because the sad truth is, America has not been fighting ISIS – they have, along with Turkey and Saudi Arabia, been trying to remove Assad from power at all costs.

“After a year of phony war vs ISIS, US whines that Russia is hitting al Qaeda-Nusra, not al Qaeda-ISIS”.

“Enough is enough. Mainstream media are now reporting that Russian airstrikes targeted “Western-backed moderate” rebel forces, rather than ISIS. Please keep in mind that the U.S. just cancelled a failed program to train and arm “moderate” rebel forces that spent $500 million and yielded only a few dozen fighters who are now either dead or have defected to al-Qaeda. So now who is this magical army of moderate freedom fighters that the Western governments are supposedly backing that the Russians have just hit? The FSA? Russian President Vladimir Putin reiterated his call for uniting efforts to fight terrorism which poses a threat to many states and millions of people around the world.

In an interview given to CBS, Putin said:

~~~ “Today, terrorism threatens a great number of states, a great number of people – hundreds of thousands, millions of people suffer from its criminal activity. And we all face the task of joining our efforts in the fight against this common evil,”adding that in this regard,”Russia has proposed cooperation to the countries in the region and is trying to establish some kind of coordination framework for it”.

Regarding the U.S. attempts to ~“train the combat part of the opposition forces”~ Putin noted that according to U.S. Senate hearings, the United States’ goal was to train up to 12,000 fighters, but only 60 of those fighters managed to complete the training and only four or five actually fought, while others fled to join ISIS, taking their American weapons with them.

Putin also criticized the arming and training of so-called ~“moderate opposition”~ by the West and the United States, saying that:

As the Syrian civil war continues to rage and Islamic State maintains its foothold in the region, Virginia state Senator Richard Black told RT that “if the US stopped training jihadists and arming jihadists, the war will end.”

In a lengthy interview, the Republican state senator connected the crisis in Syria to the actions of countries such as Saudi Arabia and Turkey, who he said have armed extremists like Islamic State militants that are fighting against the Syrian government. He also blamed US meddling in the Middle East for the rise of terror groups like Islamic State (IS, also known as ISIS/ISIL).

~ “I am really, really pleased that the Russians are putting some people in there who are genuinely going to fight, because I am not entirely certain which side the United States is on. I think sometimes we play one side, sometimes the other”, Senator Richard Black said. ~

Black said that if Russia proceeds to use military force, he doesn’t believe it will “allow Raqqah to function.” He said he would advise Putin to coordinate with the Kurds and any anti-IS Sunni tribes to take down the city, but not before giving people a certain amount of time to leave.

~ “Flatten that city. Turn it into dust. Because that is the capital of ISIS – the most evil, the most demonic force on the face of the planet. We need to take it down and we need to take out their capital”. ~

Black drew some heat in April 2014 for sending an official letter to Syrian President Bashar Assad thanking “the Syrian Arab Army for its heroic rescue of Christians in the Qalamoun Mountain Range”.

At least 70 ‘moderate’ mercenary-terrorists, trained by the US military, and known as ‘rebels of the Division 30’, have handed over their weapons to al-Nusra terrorists upon entry into Syria.

Armed mercenaries of the so called ‘Division 30’, who have been just graduated from a US-led military training program in Turkey, surrendered to the al-Qaeda-affiliated Jabhat al-Nusra (sponsored by Turkey’s military intelligence) in Syria, quoted a number of media sources.

In a statement on Twitter, the Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist gang reported that the new group from ‘Division 30’ handed over all of its weapons, medium weaponry, a very large amount of ammunition and a number of pick-ups.

The Division’s commander, Anas Ibrahim Obaid, explained to the al-Nusra terrorists that he had tricked the US military to get guns.

He promised to issue a statement repudiating ‘Division 30’, the USA-led coalition, and those who trained him.

Last month, al-Nusra gangs attacked the ‘Division 30’ headquarter, killing five, wounding 18, and kidnapping some others.

“Highlighting the siege and shelling of two villages in northwestern Syria which have been surrended by al-Nusra and allies since the end of March, 2015.

The attack was waged by a number of different factions, primarily al-Nusra, Jaysh al-Fattah (the so-called “Army of Conquest”), and Ahrar al-Sham (Liberation of the Levant Movement) along with other “moderates” of the umbrella organization Jabhat al-Islamiyah (the Islamic Front).

Crescent International reported: “The barrage of rockets has intensified; Western, Saudi and Turkish-supplied 500 kg rockets are fired at the villages accompanied by incursions with the clear aim to capture them.”

The villages, less than 10 km northeast of Idlib, had already been suffering an over 4 year long siege by al-Nusra and affiliates.

By SyrianPatriots ~ Al-Nusra Front, a clone of Al-Qaeda for Syria, has freed several members of a U.S.-trained squad of ‘moderate terrorists’ that they kidnapped two weeks ago.

In a public statement published by several media, the ‘Division 30’ [US-trained ‘rebel group’ who is the first faction of ‘graduates’ belonging to a US-led training programme in Turkey] said seven of its members had been freed by Nusra after being captured in late July.

“Seven ‘Division-30’-fighters who were being held by the brothers in Nusra Front have been freed”, an official statement released by the unit has said.

“We welcome this noble initiative and urge the brothers of Nusra and hope that they will release in the coming hours the group’s commander and other fighters,” the statement continued.

It is clear that the USA’s regime has been forced to show completely its true face, and the one of the so called ‘moderate Syrian opposition’, the worst scum of renegades and terrorists.

As for the British media, they published more detailed analyses [and] put forward the claim that “the buffer zone [in Syria] will be granted to Turkey”.

The first batch of ‘Division 30’ trainees, are also known as the New Syrian Force (NSF). NSF consists of some 54 fighters, and has reportedly ceased to exist as a battle unit, with at least half of its personnel killed, captured or missing, CBS reported.

The first experience of using Syrian rebels against hardened Islamic extremists suggests that using American-trained fighters in small groups is of no use, even with the help of the US Air Force ready to provide support. The NSF units are not only unable to attain their objectives, but rather are not motivated enough to stand the fight.

The US has launched its first drone strikes on northern Syria from a Turkish airbase, the Pentagon reports. Earlier this week, the White House authorized airstrikes to protect “moderate” rebels in Syria, and included strikes against government forces.

Meanwhile on Thursday, the US State Department has pinned the blame for the chaos and the rise of jihadists in Syria on President Bashar Assad.

Turkish military has begun to deploy armed vehicles and tanks on the high hills in the southeastern province of Sirnak near the Syrian border, the Hurriyet daily reported on Thursday.

Earlier, it was revealed that the US would attack forces loyal to President Bashar Assad, should they target the ‘moderate’ rebel groups, while NATO and its allies would also provide more support for those opposing the Syrian government.

The Syrian foreign minister has slammed the US for making a distinction between the armed Takfiri groups fighting against the Damascus government, saying there is no such thing as “moderate” militants in the Arab state.

The US president has reportedly authorized the Air Force to protect Syrian ‘rebels’ trained by Washington to fight against Islamic State by bombing any force attacking them, including Syrian regular troops.

Thus the US may become involved in the Syrian ‘civil war’ on the ‘rebel’ side.

The change was first reported by US officials speaking on condition of anonymity with the Wall Street Journal Sunday. The first airstrikes to protect American trainees in Syria have already taken place on Friday, July 31, when the US Air Force bombed unidentified militants who attacked the compound of the US-trained ‘rebels’.

Obama authorizes airstrikes in Syria, raises risk of direct conflict with Assad

In a move to increase pressure on the Syrian government of Bashar al-Assad, US President Barack Obama has authorized using airstrikes to defend US-trained militants if they come under attack by the government forces or other groups.

The new rules that the Pentagon recommended and Obama approved will apply only to military forces trained and equipped by the United States, the Wall Street Journal reported Sunday.

White House National Security Council spokesman Alistair Baskey said the Obama administration has made clear it will “take the steps necessary to ensure that these forces could successfully carry out their mission”.

Former CIA contractor Steven Kelley says the Pentagon is entering a “new stage” by threatening to use air power in Syria​ if US-backed forces in the country come under attack.

“I think it’s still pathetic and shows that the American efforts to topple Assad seem to be reaching a new stage.”

“The people that they are recruiting have no interest in fighting against ISIS (ISIL). They’re strictly there to fight against Assad,” Kelley said.

Members of DAESH [the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or ISIS] were trained in 2012 by U.S. instructors working at a secret base in Jordan, according to informed Jordanian officials.

The officials said dozens of ISIS members were trained at the time as part of covert aid to the insurgents targeting the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Syria. The officials said the training was not meant to be used for any future campaign in Iraq.

The Jordanian officials said all ISIS members who received U.S. training to fight in Syria were first vetted for any links to extremist groups like al-Qaida.

In February 2012, WND was first to report the U.S., Turkey and Jordan were running a training base for the Syrian ‘rebels’ in the Jordanian town of Safawi in the country’s northern desert region.

Analysts and observers, driven by good intentions, fall into the traps of semiotic lies conveyed on Syria. Among the most dangerous lies, that of “armed opposition” and the “impossibility of a military solution”.

Some take these two false assumptions to call for dialogue, as an only way for a political settlement. Yet, from the beginning of the crisis, the Syrian government called for dialogue, and President Bashar al- Assad has said his vision for the national dialogue, which he sees as a way to broaden the base of national partnership, and to rebuild state institutions while preserving and strengthening national independence.

To encourage dialogue, the Syrian authorities have stepped amnesty for those involved in armed insurrection. More recently, the state took a major step towards solving the problem of deserters from the armed forces, many of whom now fighting in the ranks of the Syrian Arab Army, and some have even martyred on battle ground.

The term “armed opposition” is actually intended to mask the true composition of the groups fighting the Syrian army, which constitute the core of colonial aggression against Syria, its people and its institutions.
