The 2016 NewsFront series on the war in the Donbass, Eastern Ukraine, is the antidote to the 2014 Vice series on the conflict. If you had watched the original Vice ‘documentary’ episodes, you would have consumed a large dose of US State Department propaganda, produced with an almost unlimited amount of resources. However, with the help of independent donations, NewsFront were able to create their own series which counters the US faux-narrative. This 2016 episode focuses on Commander Givi, Mikhail Tolstykh, and his Battalion, “Somali”. Undefeated in battle, Givi was murdered via an act of terrorism, in his office in Donetsk, on February 8th 2017.

The Ministry of Defense of the DPR has released information that instructors from NATO countries were onboard the helicopter that the republic’s servicemen shot down yesterday.

DPR deputy operative commander Eduard Basurin stated this on October 14th.

“In the helicopter at the moment of its sortie were military instructors from NATO countries”, Basurin said.

According to DPR intelligence, the helicopter crash landed in the area surrounding Krasngotovka.

Yesterday, DPR head Alexander Zakharchenko stated that the UAF attempted to attack DPR positions under the cover of a military helicopter, which was shot down but managed to land.

According to paragraph seven of the Minsk Memorandum from September 19th, 2014, the use of combat aircraft and drones is prohibited along the entire contact line designated for the ceasefire with the exception of OSCE SMM UAV’s.

Khalid, who uses a pseudonym, leads the Islamic State’s underground branch in Istanbul. He came from Syria to help control the flood of volunteers arriving in Turkey from all over the world, wanting to join the global jihad. Ukrainian politicians understood what the people want, and they constantly promised us, in their election programs and populist slogans, integration with the Russian Federation, a state status for the Russian language, and increased self-government. They promised but always deceived.

The events of 2013-2014 served as a catalyst for the creation of the DPR. The coup in Kiev, the ascent of radical nationalists to power, the repression of all dissent, and the Odessa “Katyn” – all of these events clearly showed that it was impossible to keep on waiting for another deceitful politician to fulfill their promise and listen to the voice of Donbass. If we do not act against brown tyranny today, then it will destroy us tomorrow”.

Kiev forces shelled the capital of Donetsk People’s Republic on Wednesday killing at least 6 citizens and injuring 90 others.

In Donetsk more than 20 buldings have been damaged.

The bombardment caused a great deal of destruction at the city’s Petrovsky and Kirovsky districts, over 3,400 houses were damaged.

Ukrainian Army has carried out massive shelling of settlements of the DPR and LPR practically along the entire contact line.

Such localities as Donetsk, Shirokino, Gorlovka and Spartak were subjected to the most fierce non-precision fire of Ukrainian artillery.

The current escalation of violence is one of the largest since agreements signed the city Minsk in mid-February.

At least one civilian has been killed and four injured after the Ukrainian shelled Donetsk People’s Republic town of Gorlovka on Sunday evening.

The Joint Centre for Control and Co-ordination representative reports that town Gorlovka was shelled by Ukrainian tanks, according to preliminary data.

Earlier, on May 27, the residential area of the town was hit by Ukrainian shell killing three people – an 11-year-old girl, her father and another civilian.

WAR CRIMES ~ Ukrainian Army violated the ceasefire regime 37 times in the last 24 hours, the DPR Defense Ministry spokesperson Eduard Basurin told the Donetsk News Agency.

Over the past 24 hours, we’ve registered 37 instances of the ceasefire violation by the Ukrainian side. They fired twice from tanks, three times from APCs, 17 times with mortar-guns, twice with anti-aircraft guns, and 13 times with grenade launchers and small arms.

On May 22 at 13.00 from the Kambrod district of the city of Lugansk the police received a report from local residents that there was a suspicious group of armed men in camouflage calling themselves militias. Because the unknown were asking about the location of military bases, the townspeople became suspicious.

On May 23 at 17.40 on the territory of Donetsk region between checkpoints “Gorlovka” (under the control of DPR militia) and “Mayorsk” (held by the armed forces of Ukraine) the car of the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (SCCC) was fired on from automatic small arms. In the car was a head of the Russian office at SCCC, Colonel-General Alexander Lentsov, and the accompanying officers. The group was returning from the village of Shirokino, where there are continued clashes and shelling.

On the same day at 18.50 near the village of Mikhailovka on a land mine (according to other sources — an anti-personnel mine MON-50) a convoy of three cars was blown up and then shot at with machine guns. In one of them was the popular commander of the “Ghost” battalion of LPR army, Alexey Mozgovoy. The battalion commander was killed, along with six people accompanying him.

Newsweek magazine headlined on February 5th, “‘Biggest NATO Reinforcement Since Cold War’ Sets Frontlines Against Russia,” and reported that, “According to general Charles Wald, former-deputy commander of U.S. European Command, … ‘The question for Europe is: is Putin creeping further and further west?’” Wald is quoted as saying that the case of Ukraine especially worries him. This article continues: “‘Is this a precursor to Russia moving into Moldova? Nagorno Karabakh has been bubbling up, and the Georgia issue is still unresolved. NATO has essentially set these [new military] bases in its frontline states,’ Wald says, referring to the countries’ proximity to Russian territory.” So: Russia is moving too close to NATO countries, according to the U.S. ‘Defense’ Department.

But it’s a blatant lie. Actually, since 1999, 11 former members of the Warsaw Pact, countries, which had been allied with Russia during the communist Soviet Union throughout the Cold War, have switched to the U.S. military alliance against their former ally Russia, NATO: Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Albania.So: Russia hasn’t been moving at all, not an inch; but the U.S. certainly has — by surrounding Russia with its NATO missiles.
This Newsweek story is ‘news’ that’s published in a mainstream U.S. ‘news’ source, which people pay bad money for — it’s worse than a waste, it’s their being charged for U.S.-Government propaganda.

AN AGREEMENT HAS BEEN BROKERED IN MINSK TO STOP HOSTILITIES IN UKRAINE

“I believe we agreed on a big deal. We agreed to a ceasefire starting at 00:00 on February 15” Russian President Vladimir Putin told the media after the talks were finished. Putin said that Kiev’s unwillingness to hold direct talks with the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics was among the reasons it took so much time to reach an agreement. “They may be unrecognized, but we have to deal with real life here, and if everyone wants to agree and have sustainable relations, direct contacts are needed”, Putin said.

IF BROKEN, NO NEW MEMORANDUM POSSIBLE

Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Aleksandr Zakharchenko, who signed the Minsk document, said it required additional consultation and warned that “IF THESE TERMS ARE BROKEN, THERE WILL BE NO NEW MEETINGS OR MEMORANDA”. He added that he and Igor Plotnitsky, the head of Lugansk People’s Republic, “agreed to sign the document due to guarantees from the president of Russia, chancellor of Germany and president of France,” with the hope that it would allow their people to “achieve peaceful development.”

France, Germany, Russia and Ukraine hold a new round of talks on February 11 in Minsk, Belarus in order to attempt to find a political solution regarding the conflict in eastern Ukraine.

During his meeting with Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov spoke about the conflict in eastern Ukraine in Moscow, Wednesday.

Up to six people were killed and more than ten injured after a shell hit a bus station in central Donetsk, on Wednesday morning. The attack took place around 06.30 CET (05.30 GMT) during the rush hour when up to 50 people were at the station waiting for the bus.

Anti-Kiev militia came under attack in Logvinovo, east Ukraine, on Tuesday, costing the lives of two nearby civilians. The graphic footage shows the aftermath of the attack, and the bodies of those who died trying to flee the scene.

Russian journalists from the ‘Rossiya’ TV channel and RT have come under fire near Debaltsevo in the Donetsk region. They were reporting on the evacuation of civilians from the conflict zone.

The RT crew of four, including correspondents Roman Kosarev and Anna Knishenko, were near a checkpoint from which a bus with Debaltsevo refugees was supposed to leave for Donetsk when they came under fire.

Journalists are now waiting for a humanitarian convoy. Refugees find themselves in this humanitarian corridor, which the Ukrainian gangsters from Kiev side seems not to respect.

LAST HOURS: after the heavy losses incurred, Kiev accepts a ceasefire.

Militia of Donbass take full control of the Uglegorsk’s territory. Soldiers of the Novorossiya Army successfully conducted a tactical special operation to liberate the strategically important village.
Footage from Wednesday in Uglegorsk shows forces from the Donetsk People’s Republic moving into the town to ensure no Ukrainian government forces remain there.

Commander Olkhon: “I can say one thing, my unit completed the task. Such units, which fought with us, such as Sparta, such as the 1st battalion of the 3rd brigade, and others, completed the task. The city of Uglegorsk is 100% ours”.

Russia’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Alexander Lukashevich slammed the US in Moscow, Thursday saying they had gone “way too far” by directing large sums of the 2015 budget for the purpose of “opposing Russia,” as quoted from a US document. By way of example he mentioned a sum of $640 million (€559 million) from the US budget that has been earmarked to support “opposition” in Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova.

Washington’s prestigious bipartisan think tank, the Brookings Institution, has now issued a call for American taxpayers to finance more firebombings, clusterbombings, and other support to the ethnic cleansing, which has been going on since Ukraine’s coup — the ethnic cleansing that’s occurring in the region of Ukraine’s southeast that’s called “Donbass”.

The people there had voted 90% for the man whom the U.S. coup overthrew, which is the reason the U.S. Government wants them eliminated, so that Ukraine can keep the land — and its resources — but now cleansed of its residents, so that the U.S. can place missiles there aimed at Russia, which is America’s current strategic objective: to control Russia

The crisis that is Ukraine has reached the boiling point, the point most sane people feared would arrive eventually.

The crucible that that country has become, it’s once again torn into shreds by familiar enemies of peace. We’ve arrived; the world that is, at the crossroads that may end up in total war.

News today from the Wall Street Journal, the Atlantic, and from Reuters to the LA Times reads; “Arm Kiev.” Well, at least it appears newspaper owners or their reporters, or the governmental press offices one, are all in favor of pressuring Russia until a real war breaks out.

For make no mistake, backed far, far back into a geostrategic corner, we all know what the Russian bear will do. Sending arms to the Poroshenko government from America, may just be an act of insanity.

Donetsk ~ The Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) forces has found ammunition used exclusively in NATO countries that the Ukrainian Army is not usually equipped with, Deputy Donetsk Militia Commander Eduard Basurin said Tuesday. ~ “These types of ammunition are designed for NATO countries. One of them [devices] is equipped with a base fuse. For instance, when this type of ammunition hits the wall, it blasts and destroys it [wall]. The Ukrainian forces do not have this type of ammunition,”

Mariupol ~ “Azov” battalion is the authority in Mariupol. Ukrainians as well as militiamen have nothing to do with the downed Boeing, as well as with the blown up bus and the shelling of Mariupol… All of the above mentioned are the deeds of international brigades of NATO’s foreign legion under the scandalous name of “Azov” according to true words of the Russian President. ~ Such battalions are also called territorial battalions… There are many of them. “Azov” is not the only one. ~ They do not fight for any idea, they earn money. It makes no difference to them who they are killing or blowing up. They are only paid for combat activities, and that is why they need to constantly murder someone, in order to report about the work done and receive their salary…

Western weapons supplies cannot change a situation caused by poor leadership and political division

700 or so of the 1,100 men who are reported to have been killed in the last 2 weeks died in the battle for Donetsk airport, then that means that the “normal” tempo of deaths in the Ukrainian army in this conflict still runs at a rate of hundreds a week, even when (as has been the case since the end of the fighting at the airport) the intensity of the fighting dies down.

Of course the rebel militia also suffers losses. However it seems these are on a much lesser scale than those suffered by the Ukrainian military. A militia spokesman has put the ratio at four to one.

Ukrainian military speak out plainly: “We bombard our cities, we target civilians, as normal warfare tactic”

On the pro-regime Ukrainian TV station Hromandske TV — which is funded by the U.S. Government, the Dutch Government, and George Soros (via his International Renaissance Foundation or ‘Fund’) — is reported that the Ukrainian Government is specifically targeting civilians to die in the Donbass region in the former Ukraine’s southeast. It’s being done in order “to clean the cities.”

This is open acknowledgement that the operation, which the U.S. is financing (and Ukraine is bankrupt so it can never reimburse its donors), is actually an ethnic-cleansing campaign. Previously, on Hromadske TV, a proponent of doing just that (ethnic cleansing) was interviewed. He said: “If we take, for example, just the Donetsk oblast, there are approximately 4 million inhabitants, at least 1.5 million of which are superfluous. … Donbass must be exploited as a resource, which it is. … The most important thing that must be done — no matter how cruel it may sound — is that there is a certain category of people that must be exterminated.”

The actual reason why this southeast-Ukrainian ethnic-cleansing campaign is necessary for Obama, who installed the current regime in Ukraine, is that… … …

In other words: Obama needs to get rid of those people. They can die, or else they can flee to Russia, but Obama needs them gone from Ukraine.

Interfax quoted A V Zakharchenko, the Chairman of the DNR Government, as saying, “Fighting continues; we’re trying to link up with the LNR, to combine our forces”. On Русской весне (Russian Spring), Shurigin offered the following commentary on the military situation opened by the recent fighting in the Donbass, “According to the most comprehensive estimates, the bandits lost at least 350 killed and 900 wounded, and lost 40 tanks, 80 AF/MICVs and 100 guns and mortars. During the ten days of fighting, VSN casualties amounted to 150 killed and 400 wounded, losing 10 tanks and 30 artillery pieces and mortars”.

The junta command had to pull strategic reserves from the Slavyansk, Artyomovsk, and Lisichansk to prevent a breach in their lines and to keep the troops Debaltsevo pocket from being cut off.

On Saturday, 24 January, the VSN (Novorossiya Armed Forces) launched an offensive on all fronts. A V Zakharchenko, Chairman of the DNR Government, said, “Kiev isn’t aware that we can advance on three fronts simultaneously. There won’t be any more ceasefires. We’ll beat the so-called ‘punitive force’ and throw it beyond the borders of the DNR”. It didn’t take long for reality to bear out his words.

On Saturday morning, Vladislav Brig, Deputy of the DNR People’s Soviet and Deputy Chairman of the People’s Soviet Foreign Affairs Committee, confirmed that the VSN offensive went in three different directions, saying, “Today, the junta withdrew its troops from Dzerzhinsk”… … …
