At 12:00 local time a humanitarian pause entered into force in the militant-held part of the Eastern Ghouta region, near Damascus on February 27.
However, according to Russian General Viktor Pankov, a chief of the group controlling the de-escalation zone in the area, civilians cannot leave Eastern Ghouta amid mortar shellings of the humanitarian corridor near Vafidin.
“At 9 am on February 27, a humanitarian corridor was opened for the release of civilians from the zone of de-escalation. Currently, militants launched intense shelling and not a single civilian has come out,” Pankov told media.
Earlier, the Syrian state-run news agency SANA reported that Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) had shelled the humanitarian corridor.
On February 26, the Russian Defense Ministry said that a daily humanitarian pause from 09:00 to 14:00 (local time) will start in the East Ghouta region near Damascus on February 27.

Video footage from Pro-government Qalamoun Shield forces has been released on social media, showing its troops advancing against besieged Isis militants in the Eastern Hama countryside.
The situation for the so-called Islamic state terror organisation in central Syria is now, on the whole, completely hopeless as Jihadist there find themselves completely encircled and outnumber by a factor of about ten.
The footage above is linked to yesterday’s operation by the Qalamoun Shield forces to liberate the Town of Abu Hanaya from Daesh (ISIS, ISIL, IS).
At the same time, Israeli IAF [ISIS Air Forces] have reportedly bombed Hezbollah units in Syria’s Quneitra province.
The incident allegedly took place in the area of the 90th Brigade Base near Quneitra city. No reports about casualties are available now… … …

The Qalamoun Shield Forces (QSF) appeared as a noticeable auxiliary force of the Syrian military in the first half of 2016, with the goal of protecting the Al-Qalamoun areas from terrorist threats and securing the Syrian-Lebanese border. The group includes approximately 2800 fighters, most of whom are volunteers from the eastern towns of Al-Qalamoun, along with a few hundred former fighters from the Free Syrian Army (FSA). A number of FSA fighters had joined the QSF after a reconciliation agreement with the Syrian government.
The QSF is linked to the Third Armored Division of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA), and works with both the Syrian Republican Guard and Lebanese Hezbollah. The QSF has several bases in Yabroud and Al-Nabak. It’s led by Lieutenant Firas Khaza’a, and mainly funded by the Syrian Ministry of Defense. The QSF is one the groups supported by the Russian military, which armed and trained all of its fighters in the early 2017.
The QSF controls a number of important border points in eastern Qalamoun, especially the area of Flitah, near the Lebanese area of Jurod Arsal, the stronghold of ISIS militants. It has managed along with the Syrian Republican Guard and Hezbollah to repel several attacks of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) in the vicinity of Flitah.

In an interview with the official website of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, conducted in Beirut by Marwa Osman*, Sayyed Hachem Safieddine Chairman of the Executive Council of Hezbollah in Lebanon commemorates the 25th of May the Resistance and Liberation day by saying that the Zionist entity is unable until now to repair its losses at the moral, military and combating levels after their defeat in the 2006 war. He says the liberation of South Lebanon in the year 2000 is a true nightmare that hit the Israeli military, political and security leaderships and this nightmare still entrenched within their conscience, their culture, and their military and security institutions.
“Our perception of the interests of both the Israelis and the Americans indicates that now is not the time for a new war,” Sayyed Safieddine told Khamenei.ir.
Sayyed Safieddine emphasized that “Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei reassured us that victory will be on our side and his words had a great impact on us all and on the souls of the mujahedeen (resistance fighters).” His eminence also declared that Ayatollah Khamenei always envisions the future with optimism and constantly promises that our region will retain self-determination and revert to its people and that the day will come when there would no longer be an “Israel” and when the US hegemony on this region will end.
“Coordination on the ground is mainly done with the Syrians. The Russian forces coordinate with the Syrian forces directly. Our job is to support the Syrians in this battle and they Syrians choose and determine the priorities and ways and means to do so. On the other hand, it is very natural that the Israeli entity doesn’t like any action taken by Hezbollah and the resistance to defend any cause. Every day the Israeli entity speaks about what is to be of them after Syria, about the danger of Hezbollah after Syria and the resistance’s capabilities and military expertise and the goals to be achieved, this is normal, the Israeli entity is the enemy and is still haunted by the fear of Hezbollah’s expertise and capabilities and this is how it should remain, we do not see any problem in that situation whatsoever”, Sayyed Safieddine said…

Hundreds of foreign-backed militants surrendered to the government troops in Al-Qalamoun region in Damascus countryside, Syria’s National Reconciliation Committee announced on Friday.
Over 1,200 terrorists laid down arms and surrendered to the Syrian authorities late Thursday, the Syrian local sources also confirmed.
The militants also turned over their cache of ammos to the authorities, both sources added.
Hundreds of gunmen have been laying down their weapons and turning themselves in to authorities in areas across the country.

For months, the Free Syrian Army’s (FSA) Central Command and their foreign handlers have been strategizing for this imperative offensive at the provincial capital of Dara’a; however, their contingency to take this integral city in southern Syria has seemingly flopped, as the Syrian Arab Army’s 5th Armored Division surprised the rebel forces with their discipline and stiff resistance.
The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and their allies from the National Defense Forces (NDF) have allegedly killed 691 enemy combatants from the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) in the last 48 hours at the Syrian provinces of Al-Hasakah and Deir Ezzor.
According to media sources from the Syrian Armed Forces, the latter has killed 444 ISIS fighters at the provincial capital of the Al-Hasakah Governorate and 247 ISIS fighters at the provincial capital of the Deir Ezzor Governorate – among these 691 casualties, 13 of them were reportedly field commanders identified by the Syrian Armed Forces.

After yesterday (19/5/2015) gains in northeastern Hasaka province, the army units advanced further on the mountainous Qalamoun area in Damascus Countryside on Wednesday, assuming control of new areas there, in addition to targeting terrorist positions all across the country.
The army, in cooperation with the Lebanese Resistance and the popular defense groups, established full control over more hills in the mountainous Qalamoun area in Damascus Countryside.
The new areas which came under the army’s control include Shmeiset al-Hosan Mount, Qirnet al-Tawil, Qirnet al-Mish, and Oqbat al-Faskh in Flita mountains, a military source said on Wednesday.
This came one week after eliminating the last groups of terrorists in Raas al-Maara mountains and the strategic Mousa hill.
A series of special operations carried out in cooperation between the army, the Resistance and the popular defense groups led to the new achievement, during which many terrorists were killed and their vehicles were destroyed, the source said.

The Syrian army and the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance fighters launched the second phase of their massive operations to liberate al-Qalamoun strategic region in Damascus countryside on Sunday after making great advances against the Takfiri militants in the first phase.
The Syrian army killed 5 ISIL commanders in the Eastern province of Deir Ezzur on Sunday. The slain ISIL ringleaders were identified as Saudi, Turkish, Chechen, Jordanian and Iraqi nationals.
The ISIL Takfiri terrorists currently control shrinking swathes of Syria and Iraq. They have threatened all communities, including Shiites, Sunnis, Kurds, Christians, Ezadi Kurds and others, as they continue their atrocities in Iraq.

Secretary General of Lebanon’s Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, said that the battle of al-Qalamoun is a major victory on the ground and a great and very significant military achievement, as terrorists there suffered a resounding defeat and were chased out of all engagement zones.
He said that the battle in al-Qalamoun has been going on for days between the Syrian Arab Army, Syrian popular forces, and the Lebanese resistance on one side, and terrorist organizations including Jabhet al-Nusra and ISIS on the other side.
Nasrallah explained the direct results of this ongoing battle being a resounding defeat for armed groups that were chased out of engagement zones, with around 300 square kilometers being reclaimed from these groups whose armed presence has been completed obliterated in this area in addition to inflicting heavy losses in personnel and equipment on them.
Nasrallah also warned against the danger posed by the takfiri [Zionist backed] project which threatens the entire nation, stressing that this project seeks to weaken and fragment the nation and liquidate the Palestinian cause.

In the field, the focus now is on pursuing these groups to the places they fled to and proceeding in driving them away from the area. On a parallel level, they are moving practically in deep-rooting the control over the regions they captured (Assal Al Ward, Ras Al Maarrah…. among other hills and posts) as Hizbullah fighters and the Syrian Army now control almost half of al Qalamoun.
The most important fact about the controlled area is that it includes the so called “ruling hills” especially “Moussa Hills” (2580m) and “Barouh Mountain” (2460m).

Syrian Information Minister Omran al-Zoubi said that the victories achieved by the Syrian Arab Army and the Lebanese resistance in al-Qalamoun constitute a big loss for Israel, adding “victory is the only and last choice for us.”
He noted that the Syrian Army and the Lebanese resistance are well aware that the terrorists who fight in al-Qalamoun are trained and have advanced weapons, and their plans are probably made by Turkish, Israeli, Saudi or Qatari military leaderships.

The Syrian army backed by Hezbollah fighters regained control of the biggest military base of the Al-Nusra Front Takfiri terrorist group in Al-Qalamoun region in Damascus countryside.
The Sahla al-Moaysara military base, which was the biggest stronghold of Al-Nusra Front, was captured in Al-Jibbeh area in Al-Qalamoun.
The Northern Qarna al-Moaysara hill overlooking the military base was also purged of Al-Nusra terrorists.

Lancée mercredi dernier en ripostant aux attaques menées par la branche d’al-Qaïda en Syrie le front al-Nosra et ses alliés, contre les positions de l’armée syrienne et du Hezbollah, ces deux derniers poursuivent leur avancée, pour le troisième jour consécutif.
Des missiles de fabrication française de type Milan ont aussi été retrouvés entre autre auprès des tentes et des casernes où étaient retranchés les dirigeants du Nosra, indique cette télévision , avec images à l’appui (voir photo).
Selon le quotidien libanais al-Akhbar, la prochaine bataille devrait se faire dans la montagne de Moussa, où sont retranchés des miliciens qui disposent d’une voie de ravitaillement de la part de la localité libanaise de Aarsale, ainsi que dans la region de Khachaate.

The Syrian army destroyed several hideouts of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Daesh-ISIL) terrorists in Hasaka city in the Southern parts of the country and regained full control over 8 towns.
The army units gained full control over the 8 towns in Hasaka province and inflicted heavy damage on the Takfiri terrorists.
Also in the past 24 hours, units of the army and armed forces killed a number of the ISIL terrorists, some of them bearing Saudi nationality and destroyed a vehicle equipped with a heavy machine-gun in Deir Ezzor.
A military source said that the army destroyed a vehicle equipped with a heavy machine-gun and killed all the terrorists onboard, including Saudi terrorist Fahed al-Issa al-Utaiby, in addition to leader of a terrorist organization named Khader Daoud al-Wahesh.
Units of the army and armed forces also killed a number of terrorists and destroyed their vehicles in al-Shaqeef, al-Rashedeen, Bani Zeid, al-Lairamoun, al-Amereyeh, al-Sukari, al-Mashhad, Dweir al-Zaytoun, Bab al-Naser, al-SAkhour, al Enzarat, Hanano, al-Maysar, khan al-Assal, in the city and countryside of Aleppo.
Following army’s monitoring operations of the movement of the Takfiri terrorist organizations, an army unit destroyed their (terrorists) vehicles and gatherings and killed a number of their members in the southern foot of the strategic Hill of Hamad, between the cities of Nawa and Sheikh Miskin.
A military source said that an army unit targeted with intensive strikes terrorists’ dens in Jadal and al-Shayah villages in al-Lujat area in the far Northwestern countryside of Sweida, which caused the death of many terrorists, injured many others, and destroyed large amounts of weapons and ammunition.
The army killed and injured a number of terrorists and destroyed their mortar launchers and vehicles equipped with heavy machineguns in Daraa camp, al-Sudd road and al-Bahhar in Daraa al-Balad.

On early Monday morning, the militants from the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra” launched a surprise attack on Hezbollah positions in the villages of ‘Assal Al-Ward and Jaroud, attempting to overwhelm the Lebanese Resistance Army with a large contingent of combatants to take these areas in the Qalamoun Mountains.
Unfortunately for Jabhat Al-Nusra, Hezbollah’s frontline defenses were impregnable on Monday, as the attack quickly turned sour for the Al-Qaeda group, resulting in the death of a confirmed 26 enemy combatants and 42 others that were reportedly wounded during the fierce engagement.
Early reports from Jabhat Al-Nusra social media activists stated that dozens of Hezbollah soldiers were killed and much of the territory captured; however, a source in the Qalamoun Mountains confirmed that THIS NEWS WAS IN FACT FALSE, as Hezbollah suffered only four casualties during the firefight with the mercenary gangs.

ISRAELI ATTACK AGAINST QALAMOUN AIMED AT UNDERMINING IRAN-POWERS NUCLEAR TALKS.
A prominent Mideast analyst warned that Israel’s recent airstrike against the Syrian military posts in the strategic Qalamoun region was aimed at undermining the nuclear talks underway between Tehran and the world powers.
“The Israeli attacks are an instrument to pressure the US administration and trouble the nuclear agreement with Iran,” Khalid al-Asmae’i told Egypt’s Sada Elbalad news website on Monday.
He warned that Israel is seeking to coax Iran into direct confrontation amid the raising possibility for a nuclear deal between Iran and the world powers, but Iran is not willing to engage in any conflict to prevent any possible negative impact on the nuclear talks.
