However, in the end, Publius Cornelius Scipio Africanus the Elder was able to move the theater of operations to Africa, destroy Carthage’s armies, defeat the invincible Hannibal, and establish peace on Rome’s terms.
The actual victor over Hannibal was not the brilliant tactician Scipio, but the profound strategist and outstanding politician Fabius Maximus Cunctator.

L’inaugurazione della mostra fotografica organizzata da Solidarité Identités e dalla Comunità siriana in Italia è stata un successo: più di centocinquanta persone hanno partecipato, nella splendida cornice della Basilica di Santa Maria in Cosmedin, al dibattito “Libertà o terrorismo” che ha dato il via all’esposizione sul patrimonio archeologico siriano.
Le immagini, allestite con il patrocinio del Ministero del Turismo siriano, vogliono porre l’accento su un aspetto che sistematicamente viene ignorato: a causa di una guerra inconcepibile ed inaccettabile si sta realizzando la più grande distruzione, mai avvenuta al tempo d’oggi, di un patrimonio storico, artistico e archeologico senza eguali.
