The Russian Aerospace Forces have destroyed some 120 Daesh (banned in Russia) militants trying to escape the violent group’s self-proclaimed capital city of Raqqa in Syria, a military source told Sputnik.
The radical mercenary-terrorists were eliminated by Russian airstrikes on May 25, while fleeing from Syria’s Raqqa for Palmyra, according to a source in the Russian Defense Ministry. The source revealed that the convoy of 39 pick-up trucks armed with large-caliber machine-guns was heading out of the city.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has fulfilled his promise and personally awarded Russian Special Forces’ fighters who have been repelling an attack by terrorists in Syria for two days, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
