After yesterday (19/5/2015) gains in northeastern Hasaka province, the army units advanced further on the mountainous Qalamoun area in Damascus Countryside on Wednesday, assuming control of new areas there, in addition to targeting terrorist positions all across the country.

The army, in cooperation with the Lebanese Resistance and the popular defense groups, established full control over more hills in the mountainous Qalamoun area in Damascus Countryside.

The new areas which came under the army’s control include Shmeiset al-Hosan Mount, Qirnet al-Tawil, Qirnet al-Mish, and Oqbat al-Faskh in Flita mountains, a military source said on Wednesday.

This came one week after eliminating the last groups of terrorists in Raas al-Maara mountains and the strategic Mousa hill.

A series of special operations carried out in cooperation between the army, the Resistance and the popular defense groups led to the new achievement, during which many terrorists were killed and their vehicles were destroyed, the source said.

The Syrian army and the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance fighters launched the second phase of their massive operations to liberate al-Qalamoun strategic region in Damascus countryside on Sunday after making great advances against the Takfiri militants in the first phase.

The Syrian army killed 5 ISIL commanders in the Eastern province of Deir Ezzur on Sunday. The slain ISIL ringleaders were identified as Saudi, Turkish, Chechen, Jordanian and Iraqi nationals.

The ISIL Takfiri terrorists currently control shrinking swathes of Syria and Iraq. They have threatened all communities, including Shiites, Sunnis, Kurds, Christians, Ezadi Kurds and others, as they continue their atrocities in Iraq.

Secretary General of Lebanon’s Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, said that the battle of al-Qalamoun is a major victory on the ground and a great and very significant military achievement, as terrorists there suffered a resounding defeat and were chased out of all engagement zones.

He said that the battle in al-Qalamoun has been going on for days between the Syrian Arab Army, Syrian popular forces, and the Lebanese resistance on one side, and terrorist organizations including Jabhet al-Nusra and ISIS on the other side.

Nasrallah explained the direct results of this ongoing battle being a resounding defeat for armed groups that were chased out of engagement zones, with around 300 square kilometers being reclaimed from these groups whose armed presence has been completed obliterated in this area in addition to inflicting heavy losses in personnel and equipment on them.

Nasrallah also warned against the danger posed by the takfiri [Zionist backed] project which threatens the entire nation, stressing that this project seeks to weaken and fragment the nation and liquidate the Palestinian cause.

The “Israelis” also must understand this very well. We are not afraid of a war. We act with responsibility. We do not want to go to war. We are not ashamed of what we are saying. It is our legitimate, moral, humanistic, and legal right – this is to those who argue with us by the law – to confront any aggression regardless of its nature, timing, and form. We will confront it in whatever place, timing, and form. We came to an end to the equal and similar retribution formula. Wherever, whenever and in whatever form you stage an aggression, the Resistance has the right to retaliate whenever, wherever, and in whatever form it finds fit. This is the end of the story.

Nasrallah: “Israel is manipulating the situation in Syria in the worst possible way to suit its own interests”

“The Israeli enemy must understand that resistance will no longer heed the ‘rules of engagement’ as it is its ethical and legal right to repel any aggression”, Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said.

Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah asserted that the Resistance is ready to invade Galilee and the Israeli settlements which lie beyond Galilee during any upcoming war against the Zionist entity.

During an exclusive interview with Al-Mayadeen TV Network broadcast live on Al-Manar Channel, Sayyed Nasrallah pointed out that the Resistance will not resort only to the missiles to defend Lebanon, so it prepared its fighters to be able to invade Galilee in case their leadership ordered them. “When the resistance leadership… asks you (fighters)… to enter into Galilee, that means the resistance must be ready to enter into Galilee and to go even beyond the Galilee.”
