Syria considers the claims of the United States and its so-called alliance about the liberation of Raqqa city from ISIS to be lies aiming to divert international public opinion from the crimes committed by this alliance in Raqqa province, an official source at the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said on Sunday.

The source said that the U.S. and its illegitimate alliance are misleading the international community about their intentions towards Syria, stressing that their claims of liberating Raqqa city from ISIS are mere lies aiming to divert international public opinion from the crimes they committed in Raqqa province.

The source said that more than 90% of Raqqa city has been leveled due to the deliberate and barbaric bombardment of the city and the towns near it by the alliance, which also destroyed all services and infrastructures and forced tens of thousands of locals to leave the city and become refugees.

Foreign and Expatriates Ministry, in two letters sent to the UN Secretary General and Chairman of the Security Council, called on the UN Security Council to immediately move to stop the brutal crimes committed by the international coalition led by the US against the Syrian people.

The fact that the coalition targeted al-Qussour neighborhood, knowing that it is now populated by civilians after it has been recently liberated and totally cleansed of ISIS terrorists by the Syrian army and its allies, discloses further the “suspicious” and “subversive” role of this coalition, said the Foreign Ministry.

Two Israeli rockets launched across the Syrian border struck near the Damascus airport at night, Al-Masdarnews reported.

The Syrian military was said to have shot down an Israeli drone in response.

The attack caused a loud explosion but did not inflict much damage or result in any casualties, the media outlet said.

The locals of Quneitra province staged a protest to condemn the illegal Zionist decision to hold elections for the so-called “local councils” in the occupied Syrian Golan and express solidarity with Syrians in the villages of Majdal Shams, Masaada, Baqaatha, Ayn Qanya, and al-Ghajar.

The protest was organized by Quneitra Governorate and al-Baath Arab Socialist Party branch in Quneitra in front of the Governorate’s Building.

The Foreign and Expatriate Ministry affirmed that Syria categorically rejects the announcement by the Israeli occupation on holding elections of the so-called “local councils” on October 2018 in the villages of the occupied Syrian Golan, stressing that the Golan is an integral part of the Syrian territory and that it will return to the motherland sooner or later.

As part of the Israeli enemy’s continuing support for terrorist organizations, Israeli warplanes attacked [Syrian] services facilities and residential buildings in the surroundings of al-Baath city in Quenitra province at the same time as Jabhat al-Nsura terrorists were attacking the area.

A military source said that Army and Armed Forces units, in cooperation with supporting forces, repelled a large attack by groups from Jabhat al-Nusra terror organization in the surroundings of al-Baath city in Quneitra countryside, inflicting heavy losses upon them.

The source went on to say that while this was happening, the Israeli enemy sought to provide support for al-Nusra, as Israeli warplanes fired rockets from within occupied territory at the Governorate parking lot and a residential building, claiming a number of lives and causing material damage.

Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem stressed that the Syrian government supports the memorandum on the creation of four de-escalation zones in Syria which was signed at the end of the fourth round of Astana talks on Syria.

“You followed up what was achieved at Astana 4, particularly with regard to signing a memorandum on establishing four de-escalation zones in Syria,” al-Moallem said in a press conference on Monday, adding “the Syrian Government supported what came in the memorandum based on its keenness on stopping the bloodshed and to improve the living conditions of the Syrian population and in the hope that all armed parties will be committed to the provisions of the memorandum. But if any violation takes place, the Syrian army will be prepared to respond in a decisive manner.”

On the possibility of Jabhat al-Nusra, which is not part of the memorandum, carrying out attacks, al-Moallem said that it’s natural for al-Nusra to be left out of the memo as it’s a terrorist organization, saying “the Syrian Government is not afraid of its right to respond for any violation of the memorandum of the de-escalation zones and it shoulders the guarantor states the first responsibility…we are confident that the Russian and the Iranian guarantors are performing their duty in implementing this memorandum.”

He added “I don’t exclude the possibility of violating the memorandum of the de-escalation areas by Turkey which is one of the guarantor states who signed the memorandum.”…………

A desperate attempt by the Zionist entity to raise the collapsed morale of its mercenary-terrorists, Tel Aviv’s allied puppets. Also a strategic agreement with the U.S. to attack Syria from south and from north.

A Syrian military position southwest of Damascus International Airport was exposed to an Israeli aggression with several missiles fired from inside the occupied territories at dawn on Thursday causing explosions in the place and leaving some material losses, a Syrian Arab Army source said.

The source added that the Israeli aggression comes as a desperate attempt to raise the collapsed morale of terrorist groups due to the Syrian army’s blows and this aggression will not dissuade the army from continuing the war against terrorism and crushing it.

Lebanese media reported a large blast in the vicinity of the airport early Thursday, speculating that the explosion at the fuel depot could have been carried out by Israel.

“The missiles were fired from the occupied territory, which led to explosions on the ground and property damage,” the Syrian military source specified.

Israeli officials have not commented on the issue yet. However, Intelligence Minister Yisrael Katz, speaking to Army Radio from the United States earlier, hinted at what had happened in Damascus……………………….

A Syrian Army source announced on Friday evening [21 April 2017] that the Israeli enemy’s warplanes fired two missiles at 18:45 from within occupied territory at a military position in the surroundings of Khan Arnabeh in Quneitra countryside, causing material damage.

The source said that this aggression came after an attempt by terrorists to infiltrate military positions in Quneitra countryside was foiled and the terrorists suffered heavy losses, which proves that Israel provides direct support to terrorist organizations.

Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem reaffirmed on Thursday that the Syrian Arab Army didn’t and will not use any kind of chemical weapons even against the terrorists who target the Syrian people.

In a press conference in Damascus, al-Moallem pointed out that the lie that the Syrian Army used this weapon came from countries known for always conspiring against Syria after terrorists have failed in their attacks and those countries have failed in their attempts to disrupt the political process.

“All of u learned about the statement of the Command of the Army and the Armed Forces and the statement of the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry that was sent to the UN Security Council and that sent to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and the statement of Deputy Permanent Representative in New York, and all of these statements stressed that our forces could have not used chemical weapons neither in the past nor in the present and neither could they use them in the future in any place, and we condemn such a criminal act,” al-Moallem said.

Al-Moallem reminded the press conference that Syria had already joined the OPCW and submitted successive statements on this subject and in mid-2016, the Organization confirmed the accuracy of the Syrian data provided.

He however questioned the timing of this “unfair campaign” against Syria, linking it to the fact that the past few weeks have witnessed active movement toward national reconciliations, terrorist attacks in Jobar and the northern countryside of Hama to which the Syrian Army responded and succeeded to restore all points and the absence of terrorists from the latest Astana meeting upon Turkey’s request with the aim to disrupt the results at Astana.

He also referred to the fact at the fifth round of Geneva, the “Riyadh delegation” had only one demand there, which is to take over power.

Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad stressed that a few weeks ago, the Syrian government provided the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) with information on the transporting of toxic substances into Syria by Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization, affirming that Syria stands against using chemical weapons by anyone, anywhere, and under any circumstances.

Interviewed by al-Mayadeen TV on Tuesday, Mikdad indicated that over the past few weeks, the Syrian government has provided the OPCW and the UN with documented reports on transporting toxic substances into Syria and storing them to do such an act by the terrorist organizations including Jabhat al-Nusra, pointing out that these documents were obtained by the OPCW and the UN Security Council.

Mikdad said, referring in this regard to the statement of the head of the Turkish regime Recep Tayyip Erdogan in which he shed crocodile tears for the fate of the Syrian people although he is responsible for the death of tens of thousands of Syrians.

“We are witnessing one of the attacks which have been repeated over the past few weeks and months”,
he went on to say, indicating that the victory of Aleppo and the advances achieved by the Syrian Arab Army in the surroundings of Damascus and Hama are the reason behind this attack.

He called upon the UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura to be reasonable and to practice the role of honest mediator, and not to stand by terrorism, adding that the terrorist groups and their backers in Britain, France, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia are the ones who committed this crime……………………..

Syria will do whatever it takes to take back the occupied Golan Heights from the Israeli regime, says Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad on Sunday, in response to remarks made earlier by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who claimed “the Golan Heights will remain in the hands of Israel forever”.
Noting that the occupied region belongs to Syria according to international law, Mekdad stressed that the Arab Syrian Golan Heights will be taken back from the Israelis.
“All options are on the table for getting back the occupied territory from Israel,” Mekdad said during an interview aired on the Lebanese television channel al-Mayadeen.

Israel seized the Golan Heights from Syria after the 1967 six-day war and later occupied it in a move that has never been recognized by the international community.
Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, at the weekly meeting of the Israeli government held for the first time in occupied Syrian Golan, 17 April 2016: “After 50 years, the time has come for the international community to finally recognize that the Golan Heights will remain under Israel’s sovereignty permanently”.

Hezbollah: “Hizbullah condemns the brazen move by the enemy’s leadership marked by holding a meeting of its apartheid cabinet in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights. This move reaffirms the Zionist aggression against our nation and people as it provides a proof on this entity’s expansionist nature … We, in this context, question the Arab League and Arab states’ stance regarding this attack on the sovereignty and unity of the Arab countries. Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad has expressed his country’s opposition to the idea of a “transitional period” in Syria.

Mekdad was quoted by the Beirut-based Al-Mayadeen TV as speaking in a meeting with Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in Tehran on Tuesday.

“We are talking about a national dialog in Syria and a broad-based government as well as a constitutional process. There is no [talk of a] transitional period in Syria,” the Syrian official said.

“There is no talk about a transitional period in Syria and those who talk about this issue are unaware of Syria’s realities”, Meqdad told reporters after meeting with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir Abdollahian in Tehran on Tuesday.

Syria’s Foreign Ministry has complained to the UN about what it calls Turkey’s support for Takfiri terrorists operating in the Arab country.

The ministry made the complaint on Tuesday in two identical letters addressed to the UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, and the president of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

The letters held the Turkish government fully responsible for crimes committed by terrorist groups in the towns of al-Fou’a and Kefraya in the northwestern province of Idlib.

It is highlighted in the letters that the crimes are perpetrated by the terrorist groups under the logistic support and direct instructions from the Turkish government.

Agreement between the US and Turkey to train and arm terrorists of the so-called “moderate opposition” means the failure of a plan set by the UN envoy to Syria Staffan de Mistura.

“The reality which became crystal clear is that the US politicians are the ones who protect the terrorist criminal organizations, and the most important evidence on this fact is the cosmetic war of the US coalition on the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist organization which is carried on beyond the international legitimacy and the UN Security Council’s relevant resolutions,” Mikdad added.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the foreign interference in the affairs the Middle East countries and the nonchalance about the future of their people have caused extremism and terrorism to spread: “Washington ignores the Syrian Army which is the true force combating terrorism”.

In a statement on Friday, the Ministry said that this agreement entails training Syrian armed units belonging to “moderate opposition” in Turkey as part of a program with a budget of USD 500 million launched by the U.S. which entails training 5,000 opposition fighters per year by 400 professional U.S. trainers in Turkey, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia.

Iranian Defense Minister: “Syrian Army, people reached stage of deterrence against terrorism”. Israel is unable to take any move against the resistance in the region.

“Takfiri terrorist organizations are practicing their aggression in the region on behalf of the Zionist entity,” Dehghan said in a statement.
