Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has criticized some European governments for siding with the Palestinians over a bid at the UN that demands the withdrawal of the Tel Aviv regime from occupied territories.
Israel occupied the Palestinian territories of East Jerusalem al-Quds, the Gaza Strip, and the West Bank during the Six-Day War of 1967. Tel Aviv withdrew from Gaza in 2005, but its forces have been carrying out regular deadly forays into the besieged sliver ever since the pullout.
