Rare images of an air field operated by U.S. warplanes in the Sarrin Plains, located in the far eastern countryside of Aleppo near the provincial border with Raqqa.
The pictures show a large U.S. plane taking off and plenty of Humvees protecting the site. An American flag is also hoisted above the airport which is located in rearguard territory controlled by the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
Although not publicly acknowledged by the Pentagon, the U.S. is believed to have constructed upwards of a dozen air fields in northern Syria without the permission of the Syrian Government…………………..
In 2 minutes, get the truth about the war in Syria. It’s a geopolitical proxy war waged by multiple countries who have spent billions of dollars on terrorists and weapons to topple President Bashar al-Assad. [by Chris Kanthan]
Former head of Mossad [Israel’s intelligence agency], Efraim Halevy, defends the country’s treatment of al-Nusra Front fighters on the Syrian border. Efraim Halevy said that he is not concerned that Israel had treated fighters in Syria from al-Nusra Front who some say is al-Qaeda’s Syrian branch.“It’s always useful […] to deal with your enemies in a humane way”, Halevy says. When pressed on whether he believed the assistance was purely humanitarian Halevy responds, “I didn’t say there’s no tactical [consideration]. I said the main consideration, the immediate consideration is humane”. Halevy also says he would not support the treatment of wounded Hezbollah fighters because Israel had been targeted by Hezbollah, but“not specifically targeted by al-Qaeda”…
Benjamin Netanyahu: “We are benefiting from one thing, and that is the attack on the Twin Towers and Pentagon and the American struggle in Iraq. Perpetual wars and chaos in the Middle East swung American public opinion in our favour”.
The truth about the so-called “civil war” that has been raging for six years in Syria.
It’s actually a proxy war waged on Syria by many countries including U.S., Saudi Arabia, Israel, Turkey…
Although Syria was once the epicenter of a great civilization and powerful empires, it is now a tiny country that most Americans can’t identify on a map.
However, Syria has surprisingly taken a disproportionate role in geopolitics, even possibly becoming the flashpoint for a new world war…
Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad affirmed that the accusations, claims and lies about the alleged use of chemical weapons by the Syrian government aim at defaming the Syrian Arab Republic in front of the international public opinion and finding justifications that serve the Zionist entity and its interests in the region, in addition to prolonging the crisis especially after the achievements made by the Syrian Arab Army and its allies in the war on terrorism.
“I affirm in the name of the Syrian Arab Republic that Syria disposed of its chemical program completely. There are no longer any chemical weapons in Syria, or any toxic chemical materials or gases that could be used in military operations,” said Mikdad.
Mikdad affirmed that the second purpose of the US immoral, aggressive, and bloody act was to prevent Syria from achieving any victory over terrorism because the US and its agents in the region have invested in terrorism as any merchant who invests his money in building facilities to increase his income.
“We formed a Syrian investigation committee and the report of the committee is there in colored pictures which were submitted to us by our citizens in Khan Sheikhoun who saw and knew this game and that there was no use of any Sarin gas by the Syrian government and that it was the terrorist groups who used this gas to justify their low logic which comes in the framework of the campaign against Syria,” Mikdad said…………………..
The U.S.- led coalition committed a new massacre against the Syrian people in which nine civilians were killed by an airstrike in the village of Kishkish Ziyanat in the southern countryside of Hasakah.
According to local media sources, the aircraft of the U.S.-led “International Alliance”, alleged on the pretext of fighting the “Da’ash” terrorist, attacked the village of Khashkash Zyanat (15 km south of the city of Shaddadi) in the southern countryside of Hasaka, causing the deaths of 9 civilians and damage to homes and properties.
The U.S. coalition last week committed 3 massacres against the Syrians by attacking the village of Dablan, the town of Al-Mayadeen and the town of Deir el-Zour, in which were killed more than 90 civilians, mostly children and women.
The International Alliance also used internationally banned white phosphorus bombs during previous attacks killing dozens of civilians.
Washington, which has formed the “international coalition” outside international law and without the Security Council’s approval since 2014, claims to be fighting international terrorism in Syria, while the facts confirm that Washington is attacking and destroys Syrian infrastructures and committing massacres against civilians………………….
Earlier this week, the White House claimed that the Syrian government was conducting “potential preparations” for a chemical weapons attack. The statement warned that if Damascus conducted a chemical attack Syrian President Bashar Assad and his military “will pay a heavy price.”
In addition, US President Donald Trump had a phone call with French leader Emmanuel Macron, in which the two leaders agreed to work together to find s response in case of a new chemical incident in Syria.
The French president said that Paris could launch unilateral air strikes against targets in Syria if a new chemical attack is carried out.
Moreover, British Defense Secretary Michael Fallon stated that London will support any retaliation by the United States for the use of chemical weapons in Syria.
In response, Damascus dismissed the allegations, calling them “misleading, false and baseless.”
“In terms of international law, this is political pressure over Damascus. It is in response to Syrian Army’s advances in eastern Syria. Washington’s accusations are a lie,” al Akkam told Sputnik Arabic.
“If the coalition continues to push with the issue of chemical weapons to justify its aggression against Syria, Damascus in coordination with Russia and Iran will deliver an unexpected response to this aggression,” al Akkam concluded………………………….
The constant call for Russia to reform is actually a liberal and Western propaganda hoax aimed at denigrating the present achievements and the leadership of Putin. Under Putin Russia has reformed beyond belief all aspects of the economy and social life. After some initial major reforms undertaken in the first half of the first decade of 2000s, Russia has been in a mode of constant reforms by reacting year by year to the challenges and opportunities that have been revealed.
Usually the catchphrase for this hoax is a call for “structural reforms,” especially beloved by the Russian liberal economists and the Russian business press. The problem with these structural reforms is that nobody ever spells out what they would in actual fact signify, obviously because they simply cannot identify any areas of policy that would in essence merit the dramatic name of reform. Having analyzed that patter for years, our conclusion is that what it all boils down is regime change, “structural reforms” is code for “Putin must go.”
Another popular Russia bashing version of this goes “Russia is a gas station with nukes.” The good thing is that they at least remembered about the nukes, but with this report we take the opportunity enlighten them with the fact that Russia is a diversified self-sufficient economy, an industrial powerhouse…with nukes. The realization of this – not forgetting about the Russian bear’s de facto alliance with the Chinese panda – should come as a shocking wake-up call to all those who still toy with ideas to reach absolute global hegemony at the expense of the Russian people.
The Hmeimim-based Russian Coordination Center stressed that the Syrian Army has never used any chemical weapons in Ein Tarma in Damascus Countryside.
A Russian diplomatic source said that a number of officers from the Russian Coordination Center were working on Saturday evening in al-Kabbas neighborhood which is adjacent to the village of Ein Tarma and they stressed that no chemical weapons have been used by the governmental forces from this area or from the neighboring area.
On a relevant note, the source said that the Russian side has collected decisive evidence which proves that terrorists are using foreign-made weapons and ammunition in Syria, indicating that the Russian officers took photos of the shrapnel from military equipment and ammunition on the ground along with their serial numbers.
The Syrian Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said that the report issued by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) regarding the Khan Sheikhoun incident includes a fabricated narrative with no credibility at all and which cannot be accepted because it is removed from logic, demanding that the OPCW make reports that are fair, credible, and not subject to the pressure exerted by states and sides that seek to block access to the truth.
The Ministry said that the fact that the fact-finding committees relied on testimonies of terrorists located in Turkey shows the absence of the minimum amount of truth, as these witnesses brought to Turkey from Khan Sheikhoun are false witnesses that follow the instructors of those who paid them to testify.
The statement said that the same applies to the so-called “White Helmets” who are proven by documented facts to be tools for Jabhat al-Nusra and other terror organization and the American and British intelligence agencies…………………..
The policy of arming military groups committed to overthrowing the government of President Bashar al-Assad began in September 2011, when President Barack Obama was pressed by his Sunni allies—Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar—to supply heavy weapons to a military opposition to Assad they were determined to establish. Turkey and the Gulf regimes wanted the United States to provide anti-tank and anti-aircraft weapons to the rebels, according to a former Obama Administration official involved in Middle East issues.
Obama refused to provide arms to the opposition, but he agreed to provide covert U.S. logistical help in carrying out a campaign of military assistance to arm opposition groups. CIA involvement in the arming of anti-Assad forces began with arranging for the shipment of weapons from the stocks of the Gaddafi regime that had been stored in Benghazi. CIA-controlled firms shipped the weapons from the military port of Benghazi to two small ports in Syria using former U.S. military personnel to manage the logistics, as investigative reporter Sy Hersh detailed in 2014. The funding for the program came mainly from the Saudis.
A declassified October 2012 Defense Intelligence Agency report revealed that the shipment in late August 2012 had included 500 sniper rifles, 100 RPG (rocket propelled grenade launchers) along with 300 RPG rounds and 400 howitzers. Each arms shipment encompassed as many as ten shipping containers, it reported, each of which held about 48,000 pounds of cargo. That suggests a total payload of up to 250 tons of weapons per shipment. Even if the CIA had organized only one shipment per month, the arms shipments would have totaled 2,750 tons of arms bound ultimately for Syria from October 2011 through August 2012. More likely it was a multiple of that figure.
The CIA’s covert arms shipments from Libya came to an abrupt halt in September 2012 when Libyan militants attacked and burned the embassy annex in Benghazi that had been used to support the operation. By then, however, a much larger channel for arming anti-government forces was opening up. The CIA put the Saudis in touch with a senior Croatian official who had offered to sell large quantities of arms left over from the Balkan Wars of the 1990s. And the CIA helped them shop for weapons from arms dealers and governments in several other former Soviet bloc countries.
Flush with weapons acquired from both the CIA Libya program and from the Croatians, the Saudis and Qataris dramatically increased the number of flights by military cargo planes to Turkey in December 2012 and continued that intensive pace for the next two and a half months. The New York Times reported a total 160 such flights through mid-March 2013. The most common cargo plane in use in the Gulf, the Ilyushin IL-76, can carry roughly 50 tons of cargo on a flight, which would indicate that as much as 8,000 tons of weapons poured across the Turkish border into Syria just in late 2012 and in 2013… … … … … …
The US is actively preparing public opinion for a direct military aggression against Syria. The White House claimed on Monday that it has a “potential” evidence that the Bashar Assad government was preparing for another chemical weapons attack that “would likely result if the mass murder of civilians, including innocent children.” Press Secretary Sean Spicer said that if “Mr. Assad conducts another mass murder attack using chemical weapons, he and his military will pay a heavy price.” US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley further accused Russia and Iran for any future “chemical attacks” that may take place in Syria. However, no evidence was provided.
UK Defence Secretary Sir Michael Fallon said on Tuesday that the US had not shared any specific evidence with the British Government, but the UK is ready to support any US military actions against Syria.
Earlier this month, Army Col. Ryan Dillon, spokesman for the US-led coalition, admitted that the US and its allies had lost a race for the Syrian-Iraqi border to government forces and that the Pentagon has no problems with the anti-ISIS operation of the Syrian-Iranian-Russian alliance in the area. But, it looks that somebody in the White House has a problem with this.
The U.S. continues to praise the so-called “moderate rebels” in Syria for their fight against ISIS, but Janice Kortkamp, an independent American journalist who visited Syria several times says there is no difference between the radicals and moderates.
Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard:
“Stop U.S. Funding of Terrorists”
Three-term Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii, a member of both the Armed Services and Foreign Affairs committees, has proposed legislation that would prohibit any U.S. assistance to terrorist organizations in Syria as well as to any organization working directly with them. Equally important, it would prohibit U.S. military sales and other forms of military cooperation with other countries that provide arms or financing to those terrorists and their collaborators. Russia has slammed as “unacceptable” the U.S. threats against the legitimate leadership in Syria following a recent White House statement alleging that this leadership is planning a chemical attack.
“We heard about this statement. We don’t know what it’s based on. And, of course, we strongly disagree with the wording ‘another attack,” the Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Novosti agency on Tuesday.
“We also consider any similar threats to the legitimate leadership of the Syrian Arab Republic unacceptable,” Peskov stressed.
“The Syrian government cannot be held accountable for the April 4 chemical attack in Idleb province “because, as you know, despite all Russia’s demands, an unbiased international investigation of the previous tragedy has not been carried out,” he added.
However, he noted that a potential danger of repeated provocations with chemical weapons use in Syria still exists as there is evidence that ISIS terrorists possess such arms…………….
Over 20 civilians have been killed or injured in the US-led coalition air raids on in Raqqa province, local sources reported.
The sources reported that the US-led coalition warplanes carried out several combat flights over different neighborhoods of Raqqa city to back up the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), killing a child and injuring 12 others mostly women and children.
In the meantime, 8 civilians were killed and several more were wounded in another air raid of the fighter jets in Raqqa.
Relevant reports said on Tuesday that over a dozen other Syrian civilians were killed in another US-led coalition air raid in areas near the border with Iraq.
“At least 12 civilians have reportedly been killed after US coalition fighter jets struck a number of targets in a village next to the Syrian-Iraqi border,” eyewitnesses disclosed.
According to the report, the US-led anti-ISIL coalition warplanes have launched a series of air raids in Hasaka province. In one of the strikes, the bombers struck Tel Hayr village near the Syrian-Iraqi border, killing 12 people, all belonging to one family………………
The same “team” of White Helmets in Daraa were filmed on 20th June 2017 standing on the slaughtered bodies of SAA soldiers, piled into the back of a pick-up truck, while extremists parade the soldiers severed heads as trophies. The same team of White Helmets in Daraa were filmed cheering and mopping up after an extremist extra judicial execution in Daraa on the 16th May 2017. Channel 4 have showcased this team of terrorists, displaying “solidarity” with the firefighters tackling the tragic blaze at Grenfell Tower.
As the Grenfell tower fire began to die down, propaganda began ramping up in England. Channel 4, long known to support terrorist organizations and the war in Syria, aired a shockingly insulting video directed at London firefighters that scarcely anyone in the firefighting community or general public even noticed. The Channel 4 program aired what was supposed to be another round of tribute for London firefighters and their bravery at Grenfell, but what it actually showed was terrorist support group White Helmets “expressing solidarity” for the London firefighters and holding up banners expressing the same sentiment.
“With no regard for the ever-mounting evidence, exposing the White Helmets as Al Qaeda co-workers and enablers in Syria, Channel 4 once again promoted this group of NATO and Gulf state funded criminals, as heroes,” wrote Vanessa Beeley of 21st Century Wire.
“The genuine firefighters in London should be insulted that their own valiant efforts are compared or conflated with a fraudulent group of terrorists and petty criminals who campaign for war to ensure further bloodshed in Syria”……………………………………….

A member of the so-called White Helmets which has been hailed by the western media as ‘peace-bearing heroes’ has been caught on camera helping a group of unidentified militants disposing the bodies of beheaded Syrian Army soldiers.
Graphic footage posted on Twitter on June 20 shows a man wearing a T-shirt with the White Helmets logo dumping a pile of bodies, allegedly being that of Syrian Army soldiers or pro-government fighters.
The gut-wrenching footage shows that many bodies in the pile are beheaded and one militant even shows a severed head of a soldier up close on camera.
“Impartial and humanitarian White Helmets [are] participating in the beheading and throwing of Syrian soldiers bodies at a dumpster in Daraa,” a caption under the video posted on Twitter reads.

multiple rocket launchers moved to the al-Tanf military base in Syria from Jordan, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Thursday.
“The range of the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) is not enough to support the US-backed units of the Syrian Democratic Forces fighting against the Islamic State terror group (outlawed in Russia) in Raqqa,” the statement reads.

Emboldened by U.S. backing Saudi Arabia launched a campaign to finally subjugate Qatar into client state status. The plan has now reached a high point. A few hours ago Bahrain, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia severed all ties with Qatar.
The Saudis accuse Qatar of supporting terrorists. That is like Britain accusing the U.S. of imperialism, or the mafia cutting ties with the mob over gangsterism. As Joe Biden remarked (vid) when still Vice President, both Wahhabi countries, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, have been funding and fueling terrorism in Syria, Iraq and elsewhere. But the Saudi view is that the more “liberal” Qatar is simply supporting the “wrong” kind of terrorists.
The U.S. military has huge interests in Qatar and other Gulf countries. Al-Udeid in Qatar is the biggest U.S. airbase in the Middle East. It is also the forward headquarter of the U.S. Central Command with some 10,000 U.S. soldiers……
The extreme bullying of Qatar by the Saudis and the UAE, with total closure of all its borders, is designed to create an immediate capitulation. So far Qatar holds onto its course but in the end it is likely to fold. It will have to stop its support for “terrorism” i.e. the Muslim Brotherhood. Another scenario is a putsch in Doha with some Saudi puppet prepared to take over the realm. If that is unsuccessful a military move could follow. Qatar has little capabilities to withstand a potential Saudi invasion.
For Iran this is a chance to further blow up the GCC by intensifying its relations with Qatar. It could increase its food exports to the country and host Qatar airline flights. This in exchange for a Qatari retreat from Syria. The U.S./Saudi plan of confronting Iran through the GCC would then be in complete jeopardy……………..

The U.S.-led coalition committed a new massacre against civilians to the southeast of Deir Ezzor city, leaving 35 people dead.
The air raids was launched on Thursday evening.
Identical local and media sources said that explosions rocked the city of al-Mayadeen in the southeastern countryside of Deir Ezzor province after warplanes of the US-led coalition shelled the area yesterday in the evening.
The sources affirmed that 35 civilians, mostly women and children, were killed in the airstrikes, noting that the raids targeted the city’s market and a 4-floor building that was completely destroyed.
Scores of people were also injured in the coalition’s shelling attack.

A Syrian military source announced on Friday that the so-called international coalition attacked one of the Syrian army’s military points on al-Tanf road in the Syrian Badia.
The attack, which took place at 16:30 pm on Thursday, left a number of people dead, in addition to causing material damage, the source said.
The source described the attack as “blatant”, saying it uncovers the fake claims of the international coalition about fighting terrorism and reveals the undoubted reality of the Zionist-U.S. project in the region.
“The Syrian Arab Army,” the source said, “is fighting terrorism on its territory, and no party whatsoever has the right to determine the course and destination of the army’s operations against the terrorist organizations, mainly ISIS and al-Qaeda.”
The source added that “those who claim to be fighting [those two terrorist organizations] should direct strikes against them and not against the Syrian Arab Army, which is the only legitimate force that is fighting terrorism along with its allies and friends.”………………

Terrorist Walid Hendi confessed to taking part in fabricating videos and photos for a Turkish TV channel while working with the so-called “White Helmets” that depict neighborhoods and areas in Aleppo being attacked with chemical weapons in order to blame the Syrian Arab Army.
In confessions broadcast by the Syrian TV on Saturday evening, al-Hendi said that he joined the “white Helmets” three years ago in return for receiving funds from the so-called “local council” and financers from Arab Gulf countries.
Hendi said that they were told that there will be chemical attacks, and they were given protective clothing and they staged a fake chemical attack that was filmed by a Turkish channel, adding that they were filmed by two people called Ibrhaim al-Haj and Mohammad al-Sayyed as they sounded sirens and brought stretchers to transport supposed injured people, with the intent of posting these videos online and accuse the Syrian Arab Army of carrying out a chemical attack.

Iran, Turkey and Russia have signed a memorandum on the creation of four security zones in Syria during another round of the peace talks in Astana on May 4.
According to the document, security zones were proposed in the province of Idlib, in the area north of the city of Homs, in Eastern Ghouta near Damascus and in southern Syria.
“Guarantors within five days after signing the memorandum will create a working group at the level of authorized representatives to determine the boundaries of disarmament, areas of tension and security areas, as well as to address technical issues related to the implementation of the memorandum,” the text of the document reads.
All technical issues, including borders of the zones, should be solved until May 22. The next round of the Astana peace talks will take place in mid-July when the trilateral group will report about the process of the reconciliation.
If the initiative achieves at least partly success, this will likely mean that in May or June the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allied forces, backed up by Russia and Iran, will launch a large operation against ISIS (ISIL, Daesh) in central Syria, aiming to reach the key city of Deir Ezzor besieged by ISIS. However, these will be possible only if the situation near Damascus, Daraa and Homs will be calm.

RT News ~ An Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman has accused Saudi Arabia of supporting terrorism and of seeking confrontational policies in the region. He was responding to comments by the Saudi deputy crown prince who earlier ruled out dialogue with Tehran.
Saudi Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman al-Saud, the kingdom’s defense minister, said it was impossible to mend relations between his country and Iran due to Tehran’s “extremist ideology” and ambitions to“control the Islamic world,” he said in an interview with MBC television, broadcasted by Saudi media.
“How can I come to an understanding with someone, or a regime, that has an anchoring belief built on an extremist ideology? What are the interests between us? How can I come to an understanding with this?” he said, according to AP.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi said that such remarks showed that the Saudi authorities lacked an understanding of regional issues and intended to seek”confrontational and destructive policies.”
“These comments are proof that Saudi Arabia supports terrorism and seeks confrontational and destructive policies in the region and towards Iran,” Qasemi was quoted as saying by state media, Reuters reported…………………..

President al-Assad: “…………..when Russia supports our army, it not only protects the Syrian citizens, it also protects the Russian citizens, and I think the European and others. So, for them they don’t look at it as commercial war like the Americans; when they launch a war they calculated how much jobs can you create out of this war. They look at it as a war that needs to protect their citizens, our citizens, other citizens, the position of Russia, the balance, the political balance, the military balance around the world, as a great country. So, in that regard, you don’t look at the armaments as how much do they cost or how much do they bring as benefit or profit.”……………………….
The plot thickens: In the meeting with Italian President in Moscow on 11 April, President Putin said that the US “deep state” military-financial interests potentially pressured President Trump into the airstrike on Syria. “Should anything go really wrong – Trump is who they will blame” – he said. A day later, Putin revealed in an interview that he was made aware of the airstrike a number of hours in advance. Given what we know about the situation so far – 1) Russia was given sufficient warning time to remove any personnel from the airbase, both Russian and Syrian, and 2) Not only did half of the US cruise missiles fail to reach the destination, but the ones that did were seemingly off-course. Very little damage was sustained at the Syrian airbase or the aircraft, as pointed out soon after the incident, by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
This leads me to believe that the whole thing was a facade, designed to appease certain “financial-military” interests inside the US ‘deep state’, as originally alluded to by President Putin. The slander of #RussiaGate has seemingly disappeared since Trump became a ‘war President’. The issue of ‘whodunnit’ over the preliminary gas attack, which served as justification for the US airstrike, remains at large.
President Bashar al-Assad: “The chemical incident in Idlib province was a 100% fabrication, as the Syrian military has already dismantled chemical weapons stockpiles a few years ago…”. “Our impression is that the West, mainly the United States, is hand-in-glove with the terrorists,” President Assad told the French news agency in his first interview since the retaliatory US missile strike on a Syrian airbase in Shayrat. “They fabricated the whole story in order to have a pretext for the attack,” he said.
According to Assad, the Syrian military dismantled all of its chemical weapons arsenal in 2013. “There was no order to make any attack… We gave up our arsenal a few years ago. Even if we have them, we wouldn’t use them,”he added. “You have a lot of fake videos now. We don’t know whether those dead children were killed in Khan Shaykhun. Were they dead at all?” he said.
The Syrian leader also lashed out at the Trump administration, saying peace talks that would ensure a lasting truce in Syria have stalled because the US has no interest in ending the war. “The US is not serious in achieving any political solution. They want to use it as an umbrella for the terrorists,” he said….(…read more…)…
Syrian Gas Attack is a Lie – “Stop Your Governments!”
Maria Zakharova calls on Western respresenatives/ journalists to hear Russia, and what it has to say. The attack against the Syrian government (on April 7th, US warships delivered an illegal blow to a Syrian airbase in Homs: their justification was the recent “chemical weapon” attack on behalf of the Syrian government in Idlib), much like the Ghouta gas attack in 2013, which precipitated the Syrian civil war, is a giant facade for the military industrial warhawks in the U.S., to put their money where their mouth is.
Lavrov schools Tillerson in basic lessons of history
(updated) At the Tillerson – Lavrov talks in Moscow last week, Russia’s Foreign Minister disagreed with the US Secretary of State in their stance on the use of chemical weapons by Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad. Russia stands for a full investigation to take place, prior to taking any kind of action. In his explanation Lavrov noted, that the only source of information on the Idlib gas attack comes from the widely discredited ‘White Helmets’ propagandists. No official investigation by international bodies, has taken place. Tillerson, on the other hand, is quite assured of Assad’s involvement in the attack, without questioning White Helmets’ evidence. Furthermore, Russia’s top diplomat made it quite clear that no more ‘regime changes’ are possible, citing the devastating examples of Yugoslavia, Iraq, Libya and Sudan. This week, the US Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, and UK Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Boris Johnson, were set to meet with Russia’s representatives in Moscow. Johnson has since pulled out of the meeting, in wake of the US airstrike on Syria, citing “Russia’s continued defence of the Assad regime.” While the backdrop to this meeting sets the stage to be particularly on edge, it is also true that to this day, no coherent foreign policy strategy has been made public on behalf of the Trump administration, and most certainly, no collusion has taken place with President Putin (despite the fake news rumours on CNN and BBC). In this clip, Maria Zakharova, Foreign Affairs Spokesperson, remains her pragmatic self in her stance on illegal US actions. Most notably, she claims that one of the components to the recent attack on Syria by the US, is to mask the humanitarian disaster that is Mosul, under a US-led counter-terrorism operation. Lavrov, Russia’s Foreign Affairs Minister – he reminds Tillerson that he does not dance with boys! Deep State problems: Putin warns of more chemical attacks
At Press Conference of Vladimir Putin and his Italian counterpart, Sergio Mattarella, the Russian President was asked for his view in regard to the US airstrike on Syria. His response revealed not a bashing of the new US administration, but the rivalries of the US “deep state” military-financial interests that potentially pressured President Trump into the airstrike on Syria. “Should anything go really wrong – Trump is who they will blame” – he said. Moreover, Putin told reporters that Russian intelligence indicates that terrorist factions operating in Syria are planning further chemical weapons attacks, likely in regions south of Damascus. These attacks will then be used as justification for more strikes against the Assad government. A day earlier, Fort Russ Editor in Chief, Joaquin Flores, stated the very same reasoning on RT talk-show CrossTalk Bullhorns. In his analysis, he explained that there are a lot more interests than meet the eye when it comes to the Idlib “chemical gas attack” and the subsequent US airstrike on Syria.
The Wall Street Journal said the trip was organized with help of the US military, and it was the first time a US lawmaker had traveled to the region since American special operations forces began fighting alongside local forces.
McCain also met with Turkish President Erdogan to discuss the situation in Syria and current US-Turkey relations.
McCain said in a statement…
“The change of administration in the United States presents an important opportunity to review and reassess current policy in Syria.”
On April 4th, 2017 a suspicious chemical attack in an Idlib province prompted US President Trump to launch missiles at Syria. McCain applauded the action and urged for more.
McCain has an uncanny talent to show up in places rife with geo-political tension, and upon McCain’s departure conflict cranks up to deadly levels.
President Bashar al-Assad gave an interview to AFP in which he said what happened in Khan Shaikhoun is a fabricated story, stressing that Syria does not possess a chemical arsenal and that even if it has such an arsenal, it will not use it.
He made it clear that Syria can only allow any investigation in the Khan Sheikhoun incident when it’s impartial.
The President said that the United States is not serious in achieving any political solution.
He stressed that Syria’s firepower, our ability to attack the terrorists hasn’t been affected by this strike.
~ President Bashar al-Assad: “As long as the United States is being governed by this complex of military industrial complex, the financial companies, banks, and what you call deep regime, and works for the vested interest of those groups, of course. It could happen anytime, anywhere, not only in Syria”.
~ President Bashar al-Assad: “Anyway, I was very cautious in saying any opinion regarding him (Trump) before he became President and after. I always say let’s see what he’s going to do, we wouldn’t comment on statements. So, actually, this is the first proof that it’s not about the President in the United State; it’s about the regime and the deep state or the deep regime in the United States is still the same, it doesn’t change. The President is only one of the performers on their theatre, if he wants to be a leader, he cannot, because as some say he wanted to be a leader, Trump wanted to be a leader, but every President there, if he wants to be a real leader, later he’s going to eat his words, swallow his pride if he has pride at all, and make a 180 degree U-turn, otherwise he would pay the price politically”.
Trump, elected promising less military interventions abroad, is looking for a pretext to militarily intervene in Syria
Bolivia’s UN envoy held the U.S. to account over its unreliability on WMD claims, in a moment that reminded the world of the false intelligence that lead to the Iraq Invasion. How can the U.S. be believed over such claims in Syria, when it resists a ground investigation in Idlib, where it says the chemical attack carried out by the Syrian govt, took place? Assad says the U.S. is looking for a pretext to militarily intervene. This, under a president who had promised less foreign intervention. At the same time, the Syrian govt says the U.S. attacked Dayr al Zawr (Deir Ezzour), causing the release of toxic gas, & the killing of many innocents, which is symbolic of what Syria has said all along: that militants have chemical weapons in their possession.
