According with Al-Alam News, the mercenary gangs fighting against the Syrian people-army-government have held at least 54 women and children as hostages for an entire year.
The group was probably captured in the coastal province of Latakia during the offensive of an year ago.
Another group of 40 hostages was released in May as part of a deal that allowed some terrorist gangs a safe passage out of the besieged Old City of Homs.
But the group of 54, which includes 34 children, was still being held, apparently with the intention of compelling government actions, including exchanging the hostages for detainees in government custody.
It is unclear which groups are holding the 54 captives, because at least 20 different mercenary gangs took part in the Latakia offensive of a few months ago.
This is another internationa war crime and a crime against humanity, for which the death penalty is the minimum to be imposed.
Civilians are not a trade tool and should be freed immediately.
