Syrian army advances in Latakia, Aleppo

Syrian government troops continue to gain more ground against foreign-backed terrorists in northern areas.

The army is steadily marching on Azaz border crossing with Turkey, and has now recaptured Ahras, a Kurdish village, north of Aleppo.

In the neighboring Latakia province, government forces backed by Russian air cover, established control over two more villages.

Yesterday, the army and National Defense Forces restored security to nearly a dozen villages and captured a series of strategic hills in northern and northeastern parts of the same province.

Government troops have dealt heavy blows to the ISIL and Nusra Front terrorists in recent weeks, purging the militants from many areas in Syria’s northern belt.


Army makes fresh gains across Syria

Syrian government forces press ahead with operations aimed at purging foreign-backed militants from the northern and western parts of the country.

The army backed by Russian airstrikes liberated two strategic areas in the east and north of provincial capital Aleppo.

lsewhere in the north of Latakia province and the east of Homs, Syrian troops dealt heavy blows to the terrorists and seized a large amount of explosive material.

The army has stepped up its fight after international attempts to broker a peace deal failed, with the Saudi-backed opposition refusing to speak directly to the Syrian government.

Army restores security to different areas across the country, inflicts heavy losses upon terrorists

Units of the army and the armed forces on Tuesday continued to launch wide-scaled military operations against dens and positions against the Takfiri terrorist organizations across the country, inflicting heavy losses upon them in the arms and personnel.


Lattakia

Army units, in cooperation with popular defense groups, restored stability and security to Basour valley and Ain al-Ghazal mountain in the northern countryside of Lattakia, a military source told SANA.

Earlier, a military source said that army units, in cooperation with the backing forces, restored security and stability to Balla and Shalaf villages in the province’s northern countryside, with the army eliminating terrorists’ hotbeds and fortifications in the two villages, inflicting heavy losses upon them before many of them fled towards the Syrian-Turkish borders.

The source clarified that engineering units of the army dismantled explosives planted by terrorists to hinder the advance of the army units.

On Monday, army units, in cooperation with popular defense groups, restored stability and security to Rweiset al-Jalta, Ard al-Qarm, Dahret al-Kroum and the Point 665 in Lattakia northern countryside.


Quneitra

Army units, in cooperation with popular defense groups, thwarted terrorist organizations’ infiltration and attack attempt towards Kroum Jebba, al-Ajraf and eastern al-Sammadaniya in the countryside of Quneitra.
