Geneva, (SANA delegate) – Syria’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Dr. Bashar al-Jaafari, stressed that the talks in Geneva are still going around a draft agenda and they did not deal with the essence yet, adding that the meetings of the past three days were discussing best means to reach agreement on an agenda that facilitates reading the essence in a political , accurate and concordant way.
In an interview with al-Mayadeen, al-Jaafari said that the agenda should be endorsed before discussing any item so that discussions be fruitful, constructive and positive.
He added, “We have come to Geneva within an international concordant reading aimed at implementing the principles of Geneva Communiqué without any interpretation that is not based on the text and pushes for misunderstanding, so we cannot get involved in any dialogue on words that are not existent in Geneva Communique.”
Al-Jaafari noted that UN Envoy to Syria, Syria’s Permanent Representative, proposed a draft agenda and its first item is ending violence and combating terrorism, its second item is the transitional government, its third is the continuation of the state institutions, its fourth is the national dialogue and reconciliation; consequently Brahimi believes that discussing end of violence and combating terrorism is a must because it is the primary demand of the Syrian people.
He said that the coalition delegation is living in illusion that the goal of Geneva meeting is handing power over to them by the current government and giving them the authority to form a transitional body.
Al-Jaafari added that the representation of the coalition delegation of the opposition factions is very weak, nevertheless, the Syrian official delegation came to Geneva as a test for the will of those who operate the coalition.
“We have come to succeed in Geneva and to make it succeed, and if the conference failed, it would be the mistake of the others who have set a wrong map and did not respect the required balance lines… we are not going to be the side that will withdraw from the talks at all… we withdraw when Brahimi withdraws himself.”

Syria has shown a weakness in agreeing to negotiate with unknown bodies at Geneva. This means the recognition of the their Authority it doesnt matter whose. But it is clear:saudis, Qatar and the US and that of the terrorists. This is a diplomatic error. I dont know where the brains of syria are and what they are doing! Woud you negotiate with someone who enters your house by force or drive him out by force!??
This is simple logic or!??

this is just your opinion, out of the global diplomatic logic.
Dr. Bashar al-Assad and his circle of fighters know what to do.
We trust them and we know there is a good reason for what they are doing.
We do not think to be more clever than them: do you?
