The army restores security to more areas in Lattakia and Homs, kills over 100 ISIS terrorists in Deir Ezzor
14 February 2016 ~ An increasing number of terrorists have been killed in precise and pinpoint operations carried out by the army units and the air force in various areas across the country.
Lattakia
Army units, in cooperation with the popular defense groups, restored security and stability to the villages of Barrouma, Mazyan and Rweiset Hmeiroush in the northern countryside of Lattakia province, a military source announced on Sunday.
Meanwhile, units of the army also restored security and stability to villages of Majdal Kikhia, Sheikh Mustafa, Sheikh Ayoub and Ayn al-Ghazal in addition to the strategic points 679, 466 and 448 in Lattakia northern countryside.
The source described the operations carried out in those areas as “intensive, precise and swift” in which special tactics for mountainous and wooded areas were used.
Engineering units dismantled a number of explosive devices and mines which the terrorists had earlier planted among houses and at the villages’ entrances, the source said, noting that a number of terrorists were killed in the operations and the rest fled toward areas on the Turkish border.
In the same context, the army’s air force targeted vehicles and positions of terrorists, killing many of them, in Rweiset al-Malek, Dahret Ard al-Ghadr, Rweiset Wata al-Sendian, Rweiset al-Jouz, Nahshaba, al-Zweiqat, al-Sheikh Abdulla, al-Rweiseh Mountain, Abu Ali Mountain, al-Baidaa and Ard Qartab valley in the northeastern countryside of Lattakia.
Homs
In the same context, army units, in cooperation with the popular defense groups, established control over a number of strategic hills northeast of Mahassa in the southeastern countryside of Homs.
In the meantime, over the past 24 hours, the army’s air force carried out sorties against positions and gatherings of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists and other Takfiri organizations in the northern countryside of the province.
The terrorists suffered heavy losses, with 6 of their positions getting destroyed in Teir Maala, Talbiseh and al-Rastan area.
A number of vehicles, some equipped with machine gun, and a rocket launching pad were destroyed in Ein Hussein village.
Army units destroyed a rocket launcher and three vehicles for ISIS terrorists in the eastern countryside of Homs.
Hama
The army’s air force destroyed sites and vehicles for ISIS terrorists in al-Rahjan village, 60 km east of Hama city, according to a military source.
The source said that gatherings of Jaish al-Fatah terrorists and several of their fortified positions were hit in army airstrikes in Kafar Nabbouda and al-Latamna towns, 35 km north of Hama city.
Centers and vehicles of various kinds were destroyed in the airstrikes.
Deir Ezzor
At least 100 ISIS terrorists were killed in army operations in the eastern Deir Ezzor province during the past 24 hours.
The army’s air force carried out sorties targeting ISIS positions and vehicles in al-Husseiniyeh village in the western countryside of the province. The positions and vehicles were destroyed, with terrorists around getting killed.
Several ISIS hideouts and vehicles, some of which are equipped with machineguns, were also destroyed in army airstrikes in al-Mrei’iyeh village in the eastern countryside, while an army unit eliminated a number of gatherings of ISIS terrorists in al-Sheikh Yaseen neighborhood in Deir Ezzor city.
Meanwhile, a source on the ground said an army unit targeted ISIS sites in the neighborhoods of al-Hamidiyeh, al-Aradi and al-Rushdiyeh, killing 71 terrorists and injuring 81 others.
Terrorist leaders were among the dead, according to the source.
Four more ISIS terrorists were killed in an army operation against their gathering in the vicinity of Deir Ezzor military airport.
A Libyan leader within the so-called “Deir Ezzor Airport Front” nicknamed “Abu Islam al-Baghdadi and five of his group’s members were confirmed dead in al-Hamediyeh neighborhood.
An army unit clashed with ISIS terrorists in the surroundings of al-Mrei’iyeh, killing 9 terrorists.
A number of gatherings of ISIS terrorists were hit in al-Hawi area, and a vehicle transporting 12 terrorists was destroyed on Mrat road in the eastern countryside of the province.
In the northern and western countryside of Deir Ezzor, more gatherings of ISIS terrorists were targeted in a precise operation near the Water Station in Mheimideh village and Sfeira Tahtani.
ISIS terrorists were also targeted in several operations in separate areas in al-Bukamal city, 130 southeast of Deir Ezzor city.
The operations resulted in destroying a23 mm machinegun in al-Kitf area and two vehicles equipped with machineguns and an ammunition depot near al-Masmakeh and al-Sinaa areas, in addition to destroying two vehicles, one of which equipped with machinegun, in al-Baghouz area.
Aleppo
A field source told SANA that units of the army restored security and stability to villages of Barhlin, Sin and al-Jdeidah in Aleppo eastern countryside.
earlier, the army’s air force destroyed positions, fortifications and vehicles equipped with machineguns belonging to ISIS terrorists in the villages of Burj Azzawi, al-Sin, al-Tanbar and Jeb al-Ali in al-Sfeira area the eastern countryside of Aleppo province.
ISIS terrorists suffered heavy losses during army operations against their sites in the villages of Tallet al-Shawaya, al-Tibeh, Barlahin and al-Sin in the northeastern countryside of the province.
Gatherings of terrorists and their vehicles were hit in army airstrikes in al-Ameriyeh village in Aleppo southern countryside.
An army unit targeted terrorists’ positions and fortifications in Souran village, destroying them and killing all the terrorists at the sites.
In Aleppo city, army units hit gatherings of Jabhat al-Nusra and other terrorist organizations in the neighborhoods of al-Rashidin, Bani Zaid, Karm al-Trab, al-Jandoul and al-Jalloum. A heavy cannon was destroyed in al-Mayser neighborhood.
Daraa
An army unit targeted gatherings of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists in Busra al-Sham city, 40 km to the east of Daraa city, destroying sites, vehicles and weapons, a military source told SANA.
Army operations in Daraa city resulted in destroying a mortar launcher and a fortified post for terrorists in al-Karak quarter, a hideout and a vehicle in al-Abbassiyeh quarter and another hideout near Busra Square in Daraa al-Mahatta neighborhood.
A number of terrorists were killed or injured in al-Nazihin Camp quarter.
The Army restores security to more areas in Aleppo, Lattakia and Daraa
13 February 2016 ~ The Army and Armed Forces continued its counter-terrorism operations on Saturday, restoring security and stability to new areas, killing large numbers of terrorists and inflicting losses upon ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra, and other terrorist organizations in several areas.
Aleppo
An army unit, in cooperation with the supporting forces, restored security and stability to al-Tamoura village in the northern countryside of Aleppo province, a source on the ground told SANA on Saturday.
Intensive army operations were carried out during the past hours against fortifications of Jabhat al-Nusra and other terrorist organizations in the northern countryside of Aleppo that resulted in restoring security and stability to al-Tamoura village, the source explained.
The village is located southwest of al-Zahraa area and it overlooks Hayyan town and the northwestern parts of Andan town.
Later, explosive devices and mines left behind by the terrorists in the village were removed.
Meanwhile, an army unit killed 9 terrorists and destroyed a vehicle for them in Abd-Rabbah Hill in al-Lairamoun area in northern Aleppo, while another unit killed three terrorists and injured others in the surroundings of Heddiyeh Hill in southern Aleppo.
Later on the day, the reporter said an army unit restored security and stability to Jub al-Kalb village located to the thermal station in the eastern countryside of the province after eliminating the remaining gatherings of ISIS terrorists in it.
Terrorist organizations acknowledged on their social media pages that a number of their members were killed during army operations in Aleppo, including the military leader of the so-called “Fajr al-Sham Islamic Movement” named Nemr al-Shukri and another leader with the same group named Zakaraya Orfali.
Army units restored security and stability to some areas and strategic hills in the area surrounding Kansaba area in the north eastern countryside of Lattakia after inflicting heavy losses in personnel and munitions upon terrorist organizations.
A military source said in a statement to SANA that army units eliminated during an intensive operation the remaining gatherings of terrorists in Rweiset Khandaq al-Blat, Rweiset Jard al-Shouk, Rweiset Hareeqet Suleiman, al-Sweidiyeh Mountain, Rweiset Qteilbeh Houkeh, Kafarteh village, Hill 454 and 846 point, 55 kilometers to the north east of Lattakia.
The operations destroyed a number of dens and vehicles for terrorists before many of them fled away to the areas near the Syrian -Turkish borders.
Later, army units in cooperation with popular defense groups restored security and stability to Arah village and Point 515 in Lattakia northern countryside after ridding them of the remaining terrorist hotbeds.
Engineering units dismantled explosive devices which terrorists left behind to hinder the army’s progress.
Daraa
Army and Armed Forces units restored security to the eastern part of al-Bajabja neighborhood in Daraa al-Balad area in Daraa city after eliminating large numbers of terrorists affiliated to Jabhat al-Nusra, including some of the terrorists’ leaders, and destroying their munitions and equipment, a military source told SANA.
Earlier, the source said the army carried out operations in Daraa al-Balad area in Daraa city, which resulted in destroying terrorists’ hotbeds, bases, and vehicles in al-Bajabja neighborhood, the western part of al-Menshiye neighborhood, the surroundings of the air defense battalion, the old customs building, al-Bado alley, al-Karak neighborhood, and Wadi al-Zaidi.
An army unit carried out a precise operaiton which targeted terrorists’ concentrations in al-Naima town east of Daraa city, killing most members of a terrorist group there.
Terrorists acknowledged on their social media pages that the army operations in Daraa al-Balad resulted in the death of a number of their members including Wael Mohammad al-Masalmeh, in addition to reporting that a number of their leaders were killed when a landmine exploded and destroyed a car that was transporting them.
The dead terrorist leaders are Ahmad Fawzi al-Hamidi from Jaish al-Islam, Mohammad Abdelghani al-Hajji al-Mikdad from “Tahrir Bosra” birgade, Majed Mustafa al-Mleihan from “Maghawir al-Lajat” brigade, and Mohammad Abdullah al-Kasour al-Hariri from “Amoud Horan” squad.
Hama
An army unit clashed with ISIS) terrorists on the axis that extends from al-Rmaila village to al-Sathyiat Land in Salamyia area in the eastern countryside of Hama.
A military source told SANA that another army unit foiled an attempt by the ISIS terrorists to infiltrate into the surroundings of al-Rmaila village, killing 10 of them while others fled leaving their arms and ammunition behind them.
Sweida
Meanwhile, Units of the army carried out special operations against dens of ISIS terrorists in the northeastern countryside of Sweida province.
The army’s operations ended up with destroying a gathering of ISIS terrorists in Rajam al-Dawla village and one of their cars on the outskirts of the Syrian Badiya “desert”.
Deir Ezzor
Army unitsdestroyed dens and positions of the ISIS terrorists in intensive strikes carried out over the past hours against their gatherings in Deir Ezzor and its eastern countryside.
A field source told SANA that the strikes were carried out according to precise information about the gatherings and positions of the ISIS terrorists in the neighborhoods of al-Rashidyia, al-Hwaiqa, al-Hamidyia, the Old Airport, al-Ma’amel Roundabout and the surroundings of al-Rasafa neighborhood in Deir Ezzor City and in al-Mrai’ayia village in its eastern countryside.
The source added that the operations ended up with inflicting heavy losses upon the ISIS terrorists in the equipment and personnel, in addition to destroying varied arms and ammunition that were in their possession.
The army restores security to several hills in Aleppo northern countryside
12 February 2016 ~ The Syrian Arab Army restored security and stability to areas in Aleppo province, killing terrorists and destroying their positions, weapons, and equipment in the province and in several other areas.
Aleppo
Army units, in cooperation with supporting forces, restored stability and security to the hills of Dahret al-Qaraa and Dahret al-Qandileh and all the heights of al-Tamoura to the southwest of al-Zahraa town in the northern countryside of Aleppo province, sources on the ground told SANA reporter on Friday.
The remaining positions and fortifications of the terrorist organizations in those hills were eliminated, the sources said.
The army’s engineering units later removed the bombs and explosive devices left behind by the terrorists after many of them were killed and the rest fled the area.
Later, a military source told SANA that the Syrian Air Force carried out airstrikes on terrorists’ concentrations in al-Seen, north of Rasm al-Alam, Sarja village in the northern countryside, and Jub al-Kalb village in the eastern countryside of the province, killing many terrorists, destroying others, and destroying their hideouts and vehicles.
Airstrikes also targeted terrorists’ fortified positions and gatherings in Jub Ghabsha village in Hreitan area, killing and injuring many terrorists and destroying their weapons, munitions, and vehicles.
Daraa
In southern Syria, army units targeted gatherings and hideouts of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists in al-Yadouda town in northwestern Daraa and al-Nueimeh town in eastern Daraa, a military source told SANA.
A bulldozer for the terrorists was destroyed on Daraa-Tafas road in northern Daraa, while a gathering of vehicles was directly hit in Tissya town, 40 km in the southeastern countryside of Daraa province, according to the source.
A number the vehicles with arms and equipment inside were destroyed, the source confirmed.
Hama
Army units restored stability and security to the villages of Jub al-Saad and Rasm Amon and the hills surrounding them on Salamia-Athria Road in the eastern countryside of Hama.
Homs
Army units targeted terrorists from Jabhat al-Nusra in Abu al-Sanasel hill, al-Darwish area in Oum Sharshouh village, and in the surroundings of Kiseen village in the northern countryside of Homs province.
Meanwhile, the Syrian Air Force carried out airstrikes on terrorists’ concentrations in Terimaala village and Talbiseh town in the north of the province, killing and injuring many terrorists and destroying their hideouts, fortified positions, and vehicles.
In the eastern countryside, army units thwarted an infiltration attempt by ISIS terrorists towards a military checkpoint in al-Maqalaa area on the road of al-Taifor-Palmyra -al-Baiarat and another attempt by other terrorist groups from Unk al-Hawa towards Jub al-Jarah village in Homs countryside, killing a number of the attacking terrorists, injuring others, and destroying their munitions and equipment.
The army also killed and injured many terrorists from ISIS and destroyed their hideouts, gatherings, vehicles, weapons, and munitions in the surroundings of al-Qaryatain town, in al-Sawwana village, and the citrus groves (Bayyarat) area near Palmyra.
Lattakia
The Syrian Air Force carried out a series of airstrikes targeting hotbeds and fortified positions of terrorists in Abu Ali mountain, al-Qamou’a, al-Baida, south of Ein al-Ghazal, and northeast of al-Aalia in the northern countryside of Lattakia province.
A military source told SANA that the airstrikes resulted in killing and injuring many terrorists and destroying their hideouts, weapons, munitions, and vehicles.
Deir Ezzor
An army unit repelled an attack by ISIS terrorists on Deir Ezzor military airport, killing dozens of them, including terrorists of foreign nationalities, including 7 Saudis, 3 Iraqis, 2 Egyptians, and 2 Tunisians, a military source told SANA.
The source also said that another army unit destroyed a Konkurs missile launch pad used by terrorists and eliminated ten terrorists in al-Jafra in Deir Ezzor countryside.
