69th anniversary of Syrian Army foundation, absolute commitment to Arab just issues
Since its foundation 69 years ago, the Syrian Arab Army showed an absolute adherence to the just issues of the Arab Nation, insisting on defending its dignity.
For over six decades, the Syrian Arab Army has believed in Arabism, participating in all the battles it was engaged in since the war of rescuing Palestine in 1948 to the tripartite aggression against Egypt in 1956, the six-year Attrition War after 1967 aggression, Tishreen Libration War in 1973 to the wars in defense of Lebanon’s unity in 1976 and 1982, where it showed bravery and boosted the meaning of sacrifice.
Observers see that the battle the Syrian Arab Army is being engaged in today against armed terrorist groups, backed by the USA and Israel, is not different from the previous wars.
The sequenced field victories achieved by the Syrian Arab Army have obviously constituted a turning point in the record on the regional and Arab armies after the conspiring countries recruited thousands of mercenaries, but their attempts are in vain battling the Syrian Army that contains personnel from all over Syria with all their humane riches and civil diversity.
Al-Baath Party : Syrian Arab army’s victory over terrorism will be remembered on world history
Regional Leadership of al-Baath Arab Socialist Party stressed on Thursday that the Syrian Arab Army which is committed to the national belief of the people has added a new epic to its major epics that will be remembered by history as the army gained victory over the most heinous terrorist war witnessed in history.
In a statement on the 69th anniversary of the foundation of the Syrian Arab Army, the regional leadership congratulated the Syrian Arab Army, expressing confidence that this is an undefeatable army.
The leadership stressed that victory will be the beginning of a new era in Syria and the region and the Syrian Arab Army will be a school for free men everywhere.
Wide military operations eliminate terrorists in several areas around country
Army units tightened grip on terrorists, launching military operations against their dens and gathering in several areas around the country.
An army unit targeted a den for terrorists’ leaders, killing many of them and injuring others in Kafar Zeta town in Hama countryside.
A military source said that the bodies of the terrorists Mostafa Arafat, Mahmoud al-Beik, Majed al-Araj and Ibrahim al-Khalil were identified among the killed terrorists.
Other army units carried out military operations against terrorists’ hideouts in the villages of Zour Abu Zed, Tayybet al-Imam and Khattab, killing many terrorists and injuring others.
Terrorists’ attempt of attacking a military post on Hama-Mehrda-al-Ghab road was foiled where many terrorists were killed and two armored vehicles were destroyed.
In Aleppo and its countryside, army units clashed with terrorists in several areas, killing and wounding a number of them, in addition to destroying their vehicles, cars and weaponry.
Army units attacked gatherings of terrorists’ vehicles and cars in al-Rashidin, Khan al-Asal, Hur and Babis where a number of vehicles were demolished along with all weaponry and terrorists inside them.
A number of terrorists were also eliminated in Dair Hafer, Handarat, Kafar Naha, al-Marja, al-Ma’adi, Dar Azza, al-Sha’ar, Old Aleppo, in the surrounding of the Castle and in Khwabi al-Asal.
In Homs Countryside, units of the armed forces killed and injured a number of terrorists after targeting their dens in the villages of Salam Sharqi, Arshoneh and Um Sihrij, in addition to destroying a vehicle equipped with a heavy machinegun in Um Sharshouh village.
Army units also attacked the terrorist groups in al-Nasiria neighborhood in Taldo, in al-Amiria, to the north of the stores of al-Shaer Mountain and to the north of the Well No. 105 in Palmyra countryside.
Other army units foiled an infiltration attempt by terrorists from Um al-Ruhum village towards Maksar al-Housan village in Homs countryside, killing and injuring a number of terrorists.
The army units also launched operations against terrorists in a number of Idleb‘s towns and neighborhoods, killing and wounding a number of them.
The gatherings of terrorists were attacked in Nahle, in the outskirts of Idleb city, in al-Bouaida, in the surrounding of Youth Camp, in Qari’a al-Ghazal, al-Hamidia, Abu al-Zuhur and near Nahlia town in Idleb countryside where a number of terrorists were killed and injured.
In Damascus Countryside, army units targeted terrorists’ gatherings in Magher al-Mir, Sheikh Abdullah farms and Khan al-Sheeh farms, inflicting heavy losses upon the terrorists.
The army units killed scores of terrorists, including a Jordanian one, destroying their weapons and ammunition in the eastern Ghouta in Damascus Countryside.
SANA field reporter said that the army units clashed with terrorists in Joubar neighborhood, killing and injuring many of them.
Another army unit eliminated a number of terrorists in Harasta neighborhood.
In the same context, the army units killed two terrorists and injured others in Aliyeh farms in Doma area.
The reporter added that other army units killed a number of terrorists to the east of Ein Tarma valley, most of them non-Syrians, including a Jordanian terrorist nicknamed Abu al-Walid.
Meanwhile, other army units stormed terrorists’ dens in al-Mleiha and al-Nashabiyeh farms, killing scores of terrorists.
The reporter pointed out that the army units destroyed a terrorists’ depot in al-Zabadani city and a car equipped with a heavy machinegun, inflicting heavy losses upon them.
Meanwhile, an army unit destroyed a terrorists’ car loaded with weapons and ammunition and a 23 mm anti-aircraft cannon in ra’as al-Maara town in the Syrian-Lebanese border, killing a number of them and injuring others.
Another army units clashed with terrorists in the area surrounding al-Sayyida Sukaina Shrine, killing and injuring many of them, in addition to destroying their weapons and equipment.
In Daraa and its countryside, units of the Army eliminated a number of terrorists and demolished their vehicles and weaponry.
A number of terrorists were killed and wounded to the east of al-Yarmouk School ,in addition to destroying a number of their vehicles.
A military source told SANA that army units killed and wounded terrorists after they targeted their hideouts in the eastern quarter of Busra al-Sham city and on al-Hrak town, the road to Um al-Mayaden town and in Atman town.
An attempt by terrorists to infiltrate towards Kharab al-Shahm town was thwarted.
The source added that other units targeted a concentration of vehicles owned by terrorists in Daraa al-Balad, destroying many of them with the terrorists inside.
Several other terrorists were killed in the Old Customs and to the southeast of the post building in Daraa al-Balad.
In Daraa countryside, an army unit targeted the armed terrorist groups in Khirbat Sahar in al-Lajat area, to the north-west of Sarmin town, near al-Omari Mosque in Inkhil Town, to the north of al-Aswad Mosque in Ataman town, in Da’ael, in the eastern neighborhood of Bosra al-Sham city and on the crossroads of Um al-Mayadin town as a number of terrorists were killed and injured.
A military source said several terrorists were killed and others wounded when army units targeted their dens in Tal Fada and on Kahil-Sayda road in Daraa countryside, and destroyed a vehicle laden with a heavy machinegun.
The source added that other army units targeted terrorists’ hideouts near al-Nazihin dam and the Technical Institute on Daraa al-Balad, killing and wounding several terrorists.
A source at the province said that an army unit killed many terrorists near al-Furat Hospital in al-Hweiqa neighborhood in Deir-Ezzor city, in addition to destroying a vehicle equipped with a heavy machinegun.
The bodies of a terrorist group leader, Abu al-Laith al-Tunisi, from Tunisia and the terrorist Abdul-Karim al-Motlaq were identified among the killed terrorists.
Another army unit killed a number of terrorists and injured others in al-Rashida and the Old Airport neighborhoods, destroying their weapons and ammunition.
A military source said army units have targeted terrorists’ hideouts on the outskirts of Tima town and in Khan al-Shih farms in Damascus countryside, killing and wounding several terrorists who were trying to infiltrate and plant explosive charges near the solar energy buildings and the pharmaceutical factory.
The source added that another army unit targeted a terrorist group east of al-Salam Highway in Khan al-Shih, with all of its members either killed or wounded.
The army units also targeted terrorists’ dens and gatherings in Fada hill and on Khail-Saida road in Daraa countryside, killing and injuring scores of them, in addition to destroying their equipment.
A military source told SANA that the army units stormed terrorists’ gatherings in the area surrounding Technical institution in Daraa al-Balad, eliminating many of them.
Competent authorities discover weapons and ammunition in Homs
Competent authorities in Homs discovered large amounts of weapons and ammunition while they were combing Bab Hood neighborhood in Homs.
A source in the province told SANA that the discovered weapons included a number of heavy machine-guns, 38 Kalashnikovs, 5 RPG rounds, 2 sniper rifles, 2 Bomb- actions and a number of Binocular.
Terrorist bombing in Homs, mortar attack in Damascus Countryside claim nine lives
Homs/Damascus Countryside – Two civilians were killed and 26 were injured on Wednesday in Homs city when terrorists detonated a car bomb near Masaken al-Shurta roundabout at the entrance of Beit al-Tawil Street in Wadi al-Zahab neighborhood.
A source at Homs Police Command told SANA’s correspondent that the terrorist attack caused massive damage to a number of houses and shops in the bustling area which contains many shops.
A source at the Damascus Countryside police command told SANA’s correspondent that seven civilians, five of them children, were killed, and 60 others, most of them children as well, were injured by two mortar rounds fired by terrorists on al-Wafidin Camp.
The source said that the two mortar rounds fell at a playground square in the camp where many families were present with their children who were playing and trying to enjoy the third day of Eid al-Fitr holiday.
Six more mortar rounds fell between al-Iskan suburb, al-Iskan al-Askari, and the camp, injuring four people and damaging houses.
Three mortar rounds also fell in Block C6 in Harasta suburb, injuring one woman and causing material damage to houses and cars.

The UN-brokered ceasefire looks to have already crumbled, with 40 Gazans killed in the last few hours. With more than 1500 Palestinians killed, it’s crucial that the anti-war movement here in Britain maintains its campaign. Protests, demonstrations and vigils have been called across the country. Please be on alert in the coming days for further national mobilisations.
Part of the picture has been the shifting positions of British MPs as they feel the pressure of public opinion.
A growing number of MPs, some who have previously been supportive of the Israeli state, are now speaking out against the Israeli attack on Gaza. John Prescott MP described the assault as “brutally disproportionate and so grossly indiscriminate”. Jim Fitzpatrick MP said he’d “received a record number of e-mails from constituents regarding [the] situation” and “that no justification can be found for the deaths of hundreds of Palestinians”.
Pro-Israel MP Margot James, a policy board adviser to the government, said “the scale of suffering in Gaza is far too great, the loss of life, and particularly the lives of children and other vulnerable individuals, cannot be justified on the grounds of defence in proportion to the level of threat faced by Israel from Hamas.”
Israel’s ability to maintain its occupation of the West Bank and its siege on Gaza relies on the diplomatic, economic and military support of Britain and the United States. MPs are feeling the pressure of the anti-war movement and the growing public opposition to the actions of the Israeli state, which is why an increasing number, including members close to the government, are speaking out. We must keep the pressure on.
We invite all our supporters to lobby their MPs and be on alert in the coming days for further national mobilisations. Our role is to take Britain out of the equation in this decades long conflict.
