Syrian Arab Army destroys terrorists’ fortifications and rocket and mortar launching positions in Homs

(17/1/2017) ~ Army units launched sweeping operations against terrorist organizations’ positions and gatherings in different areas, inflicting heavy losses upon them in personnel and equipment.

Homs

The army unit destroyed a number of rocket and mortar launch pads and positions in the villages and towns of al-Ghanto, Talbiseh, Ghirnata and al-Farhaniyeh in the northern countryside of Homs after a shellign attack that targeted Jabbourin and al-Mukhtariyeh villages, SANA reporter said.

Meanwhile, in the countryside of Palmyra in East Homs, the Syrian Air Force targeted gatherings and movements of ISIS terrorist groups in the surroundings of Station 4, Tadmuc (Palmyra) city and near the oil and gas fields.

The reporter affirmed that a number of fortifications were destroyed and several ISIS terrorists were killed in the airstrikes.

Hama

The Syrian Air Force targeted ISIS gatherings and positions in Qassr Ibn Wardan area and  Brigit village in the eastern countryside of Hama province.

SANA reporter said a position of ISIS terrorists was destroyed and a number of them were killed or injured  in the surroundings of Oneiq Bajerah in Qassr Ibn Wardan area, about 60 km east of Hama city.

In the southwestern countryside of Salamiyeh area, the source said the Air Force destroyed more positions  of ISIS terrorists, leaving a number of them dead or wounded.

(16/1/2017) ~ Syrian Arab Army units killed tens of ISIS terrorists in continuous operations against their gatherings in Deir Ezzor Province. In Aleppo province the SAA thwarted a terrorists’ attack, killing 12 of them.

Deir Ezzor

Syrian Agency reporter in Deir Ezzor said that an army unit killed 18 Daesh (ISIS, ISIL, IS) terrorists, all of them holding foreign nationalities including the Saudi terrorist Abu Abdullah, during an operation against a den behind the canneries plant to the southeast of Deir Ezzor city.

The reporter said that an army unit destroyed a den of the so-called “al-Hisba” which belongs to ISIS in al-Labed neighborhood in al-Mohssen town in the eastern countryside, killing several terrorists holding the Tunisian nationality.

He pointed out that the army units destroyed three positions of ISIS terrorists that contain automatic weapons and ammunition, and killed members of two terrorist groups at the surrounding area of Deir Ezzor Airport and al-Tharda mountain.

He clarified that dozens of terrorists were killed and their vehicles were destroyed in the military operations that targeted their positions in the areas of the Panorama, al-Taim Field, the villages of Kabajeb, al-Husseinia, al-Jneina, al-Bogheilia, the surrounding area of al-Tharda Mountain and to the south of the Airport.

Local sources in al-Hattla village to the north of Deir Ezzor City said that ISIS terrorists transferred some of their members’ bodies on boats through the Euphrates River to the village. The bodies of the terrorists Abu Ishaq al-Bajari and Abu Zer Moheimida were identified.

Later, the army units in Deir Ezzor city clashed with ISIS terrorists at the southern entrance of the city and the road leading to military airport.

SANA reporter said that the army units, in cooperation with the backing forces, clashed with ISIS who attacked the road leading to the airport and the southern entrance of Deir Ezzor, inflicting heavy losses upon the terrorists.

The army units, in cooperation with the backing forces in Deir Ezzor, continue operations in confronting ISIS terrorists attack on al-Tharda 2 axis and the direction of the city in workers neighborhood and engage in fierce clashes with ISIS in the vicinity of the airport aimed at restoring some points the ISIS haS infiltrated to.

Meanwhile, the Syrian and Russian air force intensified airstrikes on the gatherings of ISIS in the surroundings of the airport, inflicting them heavy losses.

Aleppo

An army unit clashed with an armed terrorist group affiliated to Jabhat al-Nusra attempted to attack one of the military posts on the direction of the northern al-Malah Farms in Aleppo province.

The army thwarted the terrorists’ attack, killing 12 of them, while the rest fled towards Haritan, in addition to destroying a number of their vehicles and cars.
