The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) troops continued to march on the terrorists in the depth of Eastern Ghouta and drove a wedge between the Southern and Northern parts of Eastern Ghouta, military sources reported on Sunday.

Civilians could not leave eastern Ghouta on Tuesday as humanitarian corridors had been shelled by mercenary-terrorist gangs [backed by Israel, U.S. and Western powers]
At 12:00 local time a humanitarian pause entered into force in the militant-held part of the Eastern Ghouta region, near Damascus on February 27.
However, according to Russian General Viktor Pankov, a chief of the group controlling the de-escalation zone in the area, civilians cannot leave Eastern Ghouta amid mortar shellings of the humanitarian corridor near Vafidin.
“At 9 am on February 27, a humanitarian corridor was opened for the release of civilians from the zone of de-escalation. Currently, militants launched intense shelling and not a single civilian has come out,” Pankov told media.
Earlier, the Syrian state-run news agency SANA reported that Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) had shelled the humanitarian corridor.
On February 26, the Russian Defense Ministry said that a daily humanitarian pause from 09:00 to 14:00 (local time) will start in the East Ghouta region near Damascus on February 27.
The armed groups positioned in Eastern Ghouta targeted al-Sheikh Raslan area in Bab Touma neighborhood with a mortar shell, injuring a civilian, while another shell landed in Bab al-Salam area, causing only material damage.
The source added that an attack with a rocket shell by the armed groups positioned in Eastern Ghouta caused massive material damage to the ICU at the Medical Surgery Hospital in Baghdad Street in Damascus, damaging medical equipment in the hospital, cars parked in the area, and surrounding houses.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the root of the problems in the Eastern Ghouta is the presence of Jabhat al-Nusra and groups affiliated to it which target the capital Damascus with shells, use civilians as human shields, and claim that humanitarian conditions are bad there.
The Syrian Foreign and Expatriates Ministry sent a letter to the UN Secretary-General and the head of the Security Council on the attacks carried out by armed terrorist groups on Damascus and its countryside, killing and injuring dozens of innocent civilians, affirming that terrorist officials and others who provide cover for these terrorists are complicit in these crimes.

Syrian government forces were conducting a military operation against ISIS cells in the area of al-Isba in the province of Deir Ezzor when they were struck by the US-led coalition’s aircraft on February 7, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement on February 8.
According to the statement, the ISIS recently increased activity in the area sparking response from the government forces.
“Shelling of the positions of Syrian pro-government forces has increased during the past days near the communities of Mazloum, At-Tabiyyah and Khsham in the Deir ez-Zor Governorate [Deir Ezzor province], to where the civilian population is returning. Radio interception revealed that the Syrian troops were shelled by militants from an ISIS sleeper cell that had activated in the area,” the ministry said.
A local militia was conducting reconnaissance actions in the area to detect and eliminate the ISIS cell when it was surprisingly shelled by mortars, rocket launched and then the US-led coalition’s attack helicopters. 25 militiamen were injured as a result of the attack.

The Syrian Arab Army and the National Defense Forces have liberated the villages of Rashadiya, Rasm al-Bidh, Rasm Sayyal, Rasm Kibar, Zilaqiat, Zilen and Mashrifa from Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) and its allies in southern Idlib, northern Hama and southern Aleppo.
The most intense clashes took place in Zilaqiat and Zilen where Salah Eddine Al-Checheni, a high-ranked member of al-Qaeda-affiliated Jaish al-Muhajireen wal-Ansar, was killed. Jaysh al-Izza captured six SAA fighters and an artillery piece before the retreat.

Fighting is Ongoing in Beit Jinn Pocket as Syrian Army Advances Further on Positions of Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham
The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the National Defense Forces (NDF) have secured their recent gains in the Beit Jinn pocket in southern Syria. The SAA and the NDF are now developing momentum in the direction of Maghar al-Mir controlled by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda).
On the same day, the recent government advance pose a clear threat to the militants remaining in Beit Saber. According to pro-government experts, the SAA and the NDF will continue their operations in the area until they liberate the entire pocket or local militants accept a withdrawal agreement to Idlib.

SAA Troops Liberate Village of Ruwaydah in Southern Idlib
On December 18, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the National Defense Forces (NDF) liberated the village of Ruwaydah from Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) in southern Idlib, according to pro-government sources.
According to pro-opposition sources, the SAA and the NDF were able to take control over the village only thanks to massive air and artillery strikes in the area.
The advance followed a series of other gains made by government forces in northern Hama and southern Aleppo. Previously, the SAA and the NDF liberated the villages of Rashadiya, Rasm al-Bidh, Rasm Sayyal, Rasm Kibar, Zilaqiat, Zilen and Mashrifa.
Over 1,000 localities, 78 oil and gas fields and two deposits of phosphate ores have been liberated in Syria over the past 227 days, commander of Russia’s military group in Syria Colonel-General Sergey Surovikin has told Russian President Vladimir Putin during this visit to the Khmeimim airbase on December 12. In total, the area of 67,000 square kilometers has been liberated.
Col. Gen. Surovikin added that Russian warplanes have flown 6,956 sorties and helicopters have conducted more than 7,000 sorties killing over 32,000 militants and destroying 394 battle tanks and 12,000 pieces of other equipment.
The general revealed that Russia is set to withdraw 23 warplanes of different types and 2 Ka-52 attack helicopters, the military police force, the commando unit, the field hospital and the mine-clearing center. The remaining forces will continue conducting tasks in the country.
Thus, some number of attack helicopters and warplanes will remain in the country. The Khmeimim airbase and the Tartus naval facility will remain operational. Moscow will also continue providing supplies to the Syrian Arab Army (SAA).
Damascus Countryside, SANA – Syrian Arab Army units established control over Shihab Hill in the southwestern part of Damascus Countryside after eliminating the last of the gatherings for Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists in the area.
SANA’s correspondent said that army units, in cooperation with popular defense groups, carried out special operations in the southwestern part of Damascus Countryside, establishing control over Shihab Hill, the middle hill of the strategic Bardiya hill range which overlooks Mught al-Meer and Hina plains.
The correspondent said that the operaitons resulted in killing many al-Nusra members including the military leader of the terrorist organization in al-Harmon area, a Palestinian known as Abu Huthaifa, in addition to injuring other terrorist leaders including Sami Ramadan and Ahmad Ako.
The correspondent added that establishing control over Shihab Hill cuts off al-Nusra terrorists’ supply lines to Beit Jinn farm and Beit Jinn village, the biggest gatherings of al-Nusra in the province’s southwestern countryside.
Local sources reported that al-Nusra transported injured terrorists to the occupied lands to receive treatment at the Israeli occupation’s hospitals.
Units of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the National Defense Forces (NDF) have recaptured al-Shihab Hill from members of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) in the Beit Jinn pocket in southern Syria.
This advance is a part of a wider effort of the SAA and the NDF to isolate the militant stronghold of Beit Jinn in the area. Right now, government forces are working to take control over the hills and other points west of Beit Saber.

According to ISIS-Hunters, pro-Bashar al-Assad government fighters, Daesh gave up the Island after the Syrian Military completely surrounded their forces, leaving no way for them to flee the area.
ISIS-Hunters battalions’ spokesman added that more than 250 Daesh mercenary-terrorists surrendered themselves to the Syrian Arab Army after hey attempted to flee the island by boat.
Most gangsters caught were cheap foreign mercenaries from all over the world.

Syrian Arab Army units operating in Deir Ezzor achieved a new advance for uprooting ISIS terrorists from the eastern bank of the Euphrates River after entering into al-Boukamal city and engaging in fierce clashes in the neighborhoods of the city.
Meanwhile, Syrian army units, in cooperation with back-up forces, established control over Blil village in the eastern countryside of the province.
The Syrian Arab Army, in cooperation with the supporting forces, launched wide-scale military operations against terrorists in northeast of Hama countryside with the goal of restoring safety to villages in al-Rahajan area and securing the Hama-Aleppo road.
Thanks to those achievements, the army was able to secure highway from the east of al-Sa’en to Ethriya after eliminating more than 100 terrorists affiliated to Jabhat al-Nusra and destroying a number of their vehicles, some of which were equipped with heavy machineguns. The army also dismantled scores of explosive devices and uncovered a field hospital which the terrorists had been using.
Units of the Syrian Arab army regained control on al-Rashdyeh village in Aleppo south-eastern countryside. The process comes in the framework of the army operations against gatherings of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization in an area that extends between Aleppo south-eastern countryside and Hama north-eastern countryside.
Syrian Arab Army units, in cooperation with the supporting and allied forces, on Thursday fully liberated al-Boukamal city, about 140 km southeast of Deir Ezzor, the last stronghold of Daesh (ISIS, ISIL, IS) mercenary-terrorist organization in the Eastern area, the General Command of the Syrian Arab Army and Syrian Armed Forces said.
The liberation of the city is of great importance since it represents an announcement of the fall of ISIS terrorist organization project in the region, in general, and a collapse of the illusions of its sponsors and supporters to divide it,” the General Command said in a statement.
The statement stressed that liberation of al-Boukaml constitutes a strategic achievement and a base for eradicating remnants of the terrorist organizations with its various names along the Syrian territories… … …
On November 8, Syrian pro-government forces successfully advanced northeast of the T2 pumping station, liberated Ratka oil field, Suwayyah, al-Hiri, Huwayjat Baghuz and entered the city of al-Bukamal at the Syrian-Iraqi border.
The Syrian Arab Army (SAA), the National Defense Forces and Hezbollah, supported by the Russian Aerospace Forces, participated in the operation from the Syrian side of the border. Harakat Hezbollah al-Nujaba of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units participated from the Iraqi part of the border. Military advisers of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps assisted the advancing troops on the both sides of the border.
By November 9, the SAA and its allies are still in need to consolidate their recent gains in the area and to secure and demine al-Bukamal. ISIS terrorists control some points in the desert area north of the city and could use a wide network of underground tunnels to conduct counter-attacks.

The advance in Deir Ezzor came amid an intense fighting near Mahkan village southeast of the government-held town of Mayadin where Daesh has attacked the Syrian Arab Army (SAA). However, the terrorist group was not able to achieve any gains and lost 2 vehicles and at least 4 fighters.
On November 2, six Russian Tu-22M3 strategic bombers delivered the second strike in a row on Daesh targets near al-Bukamal destroying Daesh arms and ammunition depots, command posts and fortified areas near the town.
The strikes of the Russian bombers are aimed at destroying the Daesh defense facilities and stockpiles ahead of the upcoming storm of al-Bukamal by pro-government forces.
In the southwestern Aleppo countryside, clashes resumed between the SAA and Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) in the area of al-Hass Mount. Initially, pro-government sources speculated that the military may attempt to reach Abu al-Duhur and the nearby airbase. However, this is unlikely amid an intense fighting in eastern Syria. Launching another big operation right now is a big risk for the Syrian government.
Clashes were also reported in the villages of Rahjan, al-Shakousiyah, al-Bayoudh, Sarha and Mushrafiyah in northern Hama.
According to experts, the front between Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and the SAA will remain relatively calm if the terrorist group is not able to concentrate enough manpower and equipment for some banzai attack in the last attempt to shift the situation for its own benefit.
The so-called ‘rebels’ lost their last chance to dominate in Syria after the total loss in the battle for Aleppo city.
The ISIS-held area is rapidly shrinking in the city of Deir Ezzor. On November 1, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) Tiger Forces and the Republican Guard liberated Jubaliyah neighborhood, the central park area, the school of law and education area and the southern part of Hamidiyah neighborhood.
Thus, over the last few days, ISIS has lost over 40% of the area that it had been controlling in the northern part of the city.

A unit of the Syrian Arab Army freed 19 civilians who had been abducted by ISIS (ISIL, Daesh, IS) mercenary-terrorists in the eastern countryside of Hama.
A Syrian Arab Army unit, in cooperation with popular defense groups, managed to free 19 civilians, including 5 children and 8 women, from ISIS (ISIL, Daesh, IS) mercenary-terrorists on the outskirts of al-Sa’an town in Hama countryside.
Syrian Army units also secured the return of 26 kidnapped persons to al-Qaryatain city, who had been abducted by ISIS terrorists and used as human shields when the remnants of terrorists were fleeing from the city before the army regained control over it on October 21st.
A field commander said that the army secured the safety of the citizens and provided them with food and water.
The commander added that the kidnapped persons talked about the crimes committed by ISIS against anyone who opposed them in al-Qaryatain under the pretext of apostasy from the Islamic religion, and they forced the abductees to transfer bodies to the orchards surrounding the city… … …
The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF, alias QSD groups, قوات سوريا الديمقراطية, Quwwāt Sūriyā al-Dīmuqrāṭīya) engaged in fierce clashes over distributing people’s properties in the newly-captured Raqqa city in Northeastern Syria, militant-affiliated websites reported on Saturday.
The websites said that two groups of the SDF clashed with each other fiercely in Tal Aliz street in the Central part of Raqqa city after disagreements and disputes erupted among them over distribution of stolen properties and possessions of the people.

On October 28, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the Tiger Forces advanced in al-Umal area (workers 1 and workers 2) in the center of Deir Ezzor city and captured al-Rusafi and al-Eirfi mosques inside the district, according to pro-governemnt sources.
From its side, the ISIS-linked news agency Amaq claimed that ISIS fighters repelled an attack of the SAA in al-Umal district. Amaq reported that ISIS fighters killed 35 Syrian soldiers, and destroyed two tanks, a BMP-1 vehicle, a bulldozer and another vehicle during the clashes in the district.
Meanwhile, in the southern Deir Ezzor countryside, the SAA and Hezbollah repelled an attack of ISIS on their positions east of the T-2 station, according to the Hezbollah media wing in Syria. Several ISIS vehicles were destroyed by SAA soldiers while they were repelling the attack… … …
Two senior commanders of the terrorist groups affiliated to the Free Syrian Army (FSA) were killed in two assassination attempts in the Southern province of Dara’a, militant-affiliated websites disclosed on Saturday.
The websites reported that Ehsan Awaz Hawshan, one of the commanders of the FSA-affiliated Shabab al-Shona, was killed in a bomb blast in the town of Seida in Dara’a province.
In the meantime, Nasar al-Za’abi, a commander of Jeish al-Thora, was killed by unknown attackers’ gun fire in the town of al-Yadoudeh in Dara’a province.
News websites reported earlier this month that Farouq Qazal, the commander of Brigade 15 of Special Forces affiliated to Ferqat al-Qadesiyeh of the FSA, was killed when a bomb detonated in Dara’a al-Balad region in Dara’a city, adding that another militant was also wounded.
According to the websites, Qazal was defusing a bomb which was planted in front of the house of one of Ahrar al-Sham commanders named Abu Jamal Abu Nabovat when it was detonated… … …

“Weapons warehouses here were simply huge. I’m just shocked by the amount of weapons I saw,” Syrian Army Lt. Col. Rahmi Mauwas told RT at the battlefront. “There are hundreds and even thousands of weapons and ammunition of various kinds.”

Locals in Al-Mayadeen have spoken of the horror of living with Islamic State after the terror group was routed from one of its last strongholds by Syrian and allied forces.
Footage shot on Sunday showed the city in ruins with huge caches of weapons left behind by feeling IS fighters.
Locals spoke of being thrown in jail for smoking one cigarette, having beard stubble or not wearing the correct clothing.
SOT, local resident (Arabic): “Nobody wanted to cooperate with ISIS. I had six days in prison for smoking one cigarette. This happened because they saw me smoking or smelled tobacco on me. For this reason they imprisoned me for 6 days. They had such organisation, like a morality police called ‘Hysba.’ They were imprisoning even for removing stubble from a face, let alone a beard! Not a beard, just single hairs of bristle. You’re not allowed to shave this part. Beards should grow in natural way.”
